Chapter 157 Don’t Leave Me_1
Chapter 157: Chapter 157 Don’t Leave Me_1
Su Wanxia’s body had no significant wounds, merely bruises on her wrists and ankles, likely from wearing handcuffs for too long or from struggles that left marks.
The female doctor gently turned her body to the side, and upon seeing her back, her eyes widened in shock.
Mu Yingchen noticed her expression and immediately moved to Su Wanxia’s back. Upon close inspection, his hands clenched tightly.
The fair skin was covered in large patches of bruises. Although there was no bleeding, the sight made it seem all the more painful.
"Such conditions are usually the result of a fall or a forceful impact," the female doctor explained softly, as Mu Yingchen’s complexion turned terribly grim.
Mu Yingchen exhaled heavily, closed his eyes, and then spoke softly, "Apply the medication."
After the doctor applied the medicine, she quietly excused herself.
As soon as she left, Mu Feng and Su’s father came in together from outside.
"Yingchen, is Xiaxia all right?" Su’s father stood by Su Wanxia’s bed, his face full of distress.
"She’s fine, she just needs to rest for a few days. You should go and rest as well, I’ll be here," said Mu Yingchen.
After hesitating, Su’s father finally sighed and said, "All right then, I’ll leave Xiaxia to you."
With him there, as a father, he felt he hadn’t contributed much.
"Don’t worry!" Mu Yingchen reassured.
Su’s father took another look at the unconscious Su Wanxia and then, worn out, headed for the door.
"Brother, I’ll head back first too," said Mu Feng to Mu Yingchen.
"Feng, find out where the Black Wolf Gang is hiding—" Mu Yingchen’s tone was heavy with menace.
"Okay, I’ll find out their hideout as soon as possible."
"Thanks for your hard work."
"We’re brothers, no need for formalities."
"You can go now."
Once Mu Feng left, the room became instantly quiet.
Mu Yingchen took Su Wanxia’s hand and gently brought it to his lips.
His eyes couldn’t help but moisten; he was truly to blame! How could such a similar incident happen twice under his watch? It was all his fault—if he hadn’t been so careless, how could she have been captured by those people?
She must have been extremely scared at that time!
He couldn’t imagine how she managed to endure being alone in such a dangerous situation.
Su Wanxia had been unconscious for a full day and night. During that time, Su’s father and Mu Feng had visited several times, but she remained unresponsive, causing everyone great concern.
Without informing Su’s mother of the incident, Su’s father thought it best to wait until Su Wanxia woke up before telling her, to spare her the worry.
Kang Xiaolan and Yan Yirou wanted to come and visit, but Mu Feng stopped them because Mu Yingchen was in a very bad state of mind.
He was afraid their presence would only add to Mu Yingchen’s irritability.
Finally, at around ten o’clock the following evening, Su Wanxia awoke.
At that moment, Mu Yingchen, who had been holding her hand while dozing off beside the bed, woke up. He had been keeping vigil for two days straight without a wink of sleep and had finally succumbed to his exhaustion, unknowingly falling asleep beside her.
"Don’t!" Su Wanxia woke from the nightmare, her head drenched in cold sweat.
Her startled cry also awakened Mu Yingchen, who hadn’t been asleep for long.
"Wanwan, Wanwan? You’re finally awake..." Mu Yingchen stood up from the chair, moved beside the bed, and gently embraced her.
Su Wanxia blinked twice, her eyes somewhat unfocused as she looked at Mu Yingchen.
"Achen?" Her voice was very hoarse.
"It’s me, Wanwan, I’m sorry, so sorry!" Mu Yingchen pulled her closer into his embrace, his voice tender and remorseful.
Su Wanxia seemed to truly react at that moment, as she suddenly extended her arms to embrace his neck, weeping bitterly in his arms.
"I thought I would never see you again—I was so scared, but I didn’t know how to escape~~" Su Wanxia sobbed as she spoke.
"It’s alright wanwan, trust me, nothing like this will ever happen again."
"Achen, don’t leave me!" Su Wanxia said as tears streamed down from her eyes once more.
When she heard those people wanted to kill her, she regretted in her heart, regretting that the time she spent with him was too short, regretting why she hadn’t come back earlier to be by his side.
It was also at that time that she truly understood how much she loved him, how much she couldn’t bear to part with him!
She thought, if she could see him one more time, she would definitely tell him that she loved him very much, that she wanted to be with him forever, never to part.
Hearing her words, Mu Yingchen held her even tighter.
"Alright, I won’t leave you, I will never leave."
As Su Wanxia listened to Mu Yingchen’s words, her tears flowed even more fiercely.
Mu Yingchen tenderly wiped her tears away and straightened her hair, speaking softly, "You’ve slept for so long, are you hungry?"
At his mention, Su Wanxia suddenly felt her stomach was empty.
Indeed, she hadn’t eaten anything for two days and two nights; it would be strange if she wasn’t hungry.
"You just woke up, so you shouldn’t eat anything too greasy. How about some porridge first?" Mu Yingchen gently asked.
Su Wanxia sniffled and frowned in dissatisfaction. She was very hungry now and didn’t want to drink porridge.
"Can I not have porridge?" Her voice was weak and hoarse, giving off an especially pitiable impression.
Mu Yingchen indulgently stroked her long hair.
"Behave, you’ve slept for two days, and it’s still nighttime, eating anything else won’t digest well."
Having heard him say this, Su Wanxia reluctantly nodded her head.
Mu Yingchen gave an order outside the door, and soon someone brought in the porridge.
He sat by the bed, spoon-feeding her spoon by spoon. She ate with an expression of disdain, sometimes pouting, sometimes wrinkling her nose—every inadvertent little action deeply touched the softest part of Mu Yingchen’s heart.
After finishing the bowl of porridge, Su Wanxia felt she was no longer hungry. Despite not eating for two days, her stomach only had so much space; once filled, she was satisfied.
"Do you want some more?" Mu Yingchen asked.
Su Wanxia shook her head—
"Do you want water?"
"No, sleep with me!" Su Wanxia pulled on his hand, her clear eyes staring unwaveringly at him.
Her expression couldn’t be more innocent.
Mu Yingchen smiled helplessly, then took off his coat and lay down on the bed, pulling her into his embrace.
Su Wanxia tightly clung to his waist with both hands, contentedly closing her eyes.
"Are you still sleepy?" Mu Yingchen asked softly.
She shook her head—
"How did you find me?" she suddenly asked about this matter.
Mu Yingchen let out a light sigh, "We followed the direction from the video."
"How did you rescue me, and what about those people?" Su Wanxia shivered at the thought of those people.
Their actions were truly terrifying.
"We reported it to the police, those people ran away--" Mu Yingchen briefly explained to her, without going into the details.
"Right? Why did you have a gun inside your clothes?" This was what Mu Yingchen was most puzzled about.
