Chapter 155: Chapter 155 Second-in-Command of the Qinglong Association_1

Su Wanxia, groggy, heard the sound of a door slamming forcefully, then faintly caught the orders being issued, "Keep a close watch on that chick!"

"Yes, boss."

Black Wolf followed the man who had reported to him into the hall and instantly saw the person seated at the head of the table.

His heart skipped a beat.

"Black Wolf..." The moment he stepped into the hall, the person at the head had locked his gaze on him.

His voice was warm and pleasant, yet mixed with a sense of detached coldness.

"Who are you?" Black Wolf was unnerved by his chilly stare.

"To see our Brother Ran and dare show this attitude!" The man beside him immediately scolded in voice.

"Who the hell do you think—", one of Black Wolf’s men immediately spoke up in rebuttal but was cut off abruptly by Black Wolf’s fierce interruption.

"Shut up! Get the hell out of here!"

The man felt wronged but didn’t dare to say anything more, retracting his head and backing down.

The title of Brother Ran was not one just anyone could use—on the streets, who didn’t know the Qinglong Association’s number two, Su Ran!

"Heh heh, so it really is Brother Ran gracing us with his presence. Black Wolf was blind just now, I hope Brother Ran is generous and won’t take it out on my men," he said, a smile plastered on his face as he slowly approached Su Ran.

Looking at him indifferently, Su Ran got straight to the point without beating around the bush, "I heard that your man kidnapped someone yesterday..."

Black Wolf was startled—how could he know?

"Where is she? I’d like to meet her," Su Ran’s tone was very calm, but it carried an air that brooked no refusal.

"That—how did Brother Ran come by this information? Our guys haven’t gone down the mountain in days, with the cops hot on our trail we wouldn’t dare to kidnap anyone!" Black Wolf said, seeming utterly surprised, as if he knew nothing at all.

Upon hearing his words, Su Ran’s lips twitched into a slight smirk, "Black Wolf, do you know why your father left Qinglong Association back then?"

Black Wolf’s hand involuntarily tightened. How could he not know—his father lied about committing a wrongdoing for fear of being discovered by them.

And that was why he had an arm severed and was expelled from the Qinglong Association—

Thus was the creation of the Black Wolf Gang.

Their methods and power were beyond anyone’s reach.

"Uh, but, last night, it seems we did bring back a woman," he said, his palms sweaty.

He had a premonition that if he didn’t tell the truth now, his fate might be worse than his father’s.

"Mm, take me to her," Su Ran said as he stood up from his seat, his icy demeanor oppressive.

"Sure, sure," Black Wolf nodded repeatedly, thinking that no woman, no matter how beautiful, was worth more than his own life.

When Su Ran saw the person unconscious on the couch, his eyebrows immediately furrowed.

"Heh heh, she just accidentally hurt herself a little while ago and might have fainted," Black Wolf said with a laugh, carefully following beside Su Ran and explaining.

Because Wanxia’s hair was loose, it mostly covered her face, so Su Ran could not yet see what she actually looked like.

He leaned in slightly and extended his long fingers to gently brush the hair from her face.

As that stunning face was fully revealed before his eyes, a flicker of astonishment flashed across his previously calm and gentle eyes.

But then he furrowed his brows tightly.

"Bring me scissors," he ordered to the person standing beside him.

Closest to him was Black Wolf, who didn’t understand why he wanted scissors or that he was the boss here. Telling him to fetch scissors was like slapping him in the face, wasn’t it?

"Bring me a pair of scissors!" he barked again, turning to the man standing next to him.

"Yes, boss." The man didn’t dare to protest and quickly ran out to get the scissors.

Once Su Ran had the scissors in hand, he gently lifted a lock of Su Wanxia’s hair and with one swift motion, a strand of her black hair lay in his hand.

Someone stepped forward cautiously, took the hair strand from his hand, and then stored it away safely.

Black Wolf was utterly confused. What did they want with this chick’s hair? Could it be her identity was in question?

"The person—I’m taking her with me," Su Ran said to Black Wolf, his tone icy.

"But—Ran bro, this chick is—"

"I don’t care why you brought her here or who told you to do so. I must take her with me today."

"Ran bro, you got to see her, and we let you, but you can’t take her away. Someone wants her dead; we can’t take the money and do nothing, right?"

"Would you dare to refuse someone the Qinglong Association is looking for?" Su Ran’s voice suddenly turned chilly and compelling.

Black Wolf’s mouth hung open, but ultimately, he dared not say anything. Someone the Qinglong Association was looking for? Who exactly was this girl? How was she connected to the Qinglong Association?

Chills ran down his spine. If she really was connected to the Qinglong Association, would they come looking for him later?

"Heh, Ran bro, let’s talk this out. Since she is someone the Qinglong Association is looking for, how could I dare refuse? But could you at least share with me what her relationship is with the Qinglong Association?"

"We just do what the Qinglong Association tells us to do. If you want to know, you can ask them yourself," Su Ran replied as he lifted Su Wanxia off the bench.

At Su Ran’s words, the corner of Black Wolf’s mouth twitched involuntarily. He had never even met the Qinglong Association’s boss; how could he ask?

Thinking about it, even if he got the chance, he wouldn’t dare, not with a hundred times the courage.

"Then we will report back to the Qinglong Association," Su Ran said coolly to Black Wolf, carrying the unconscious Su Wanxia out the door.

Black Wolf’s eyes narrowed and, gritting his teeth, he followed them out.

As soon as they reached the hall, a barrage of gunfire suddenly erupted outside.

Su Ran instantly looked at the men following him.

Whoosh—The men following him swiftly drew their weapons.

Black Wolf also had his men pull out their weapons and barged toward the door imposingly.

Who had the guts to court death at the doorstep of the Black Wolf Gang?

"Boss, boss, another group has arrived outside; they say you need to hand over Su Wanxia," someone panted as they ran over, breathlessly speaking to Black Wolf.

Black Wolf felt humiliated enough today, and now another group had shown up.

"Damn it, I don’t even know who Su Wanxia is; they’re just here to cause trouble!" Black Wolf cursed vehemently.

The man following him tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "Boss, the chick’s name is Su Wanxia."

Black Wolf was stunned for a moment, then smacked the man’s head. "Why didn’t you say so earlier?"

"You never asked me!"

"Black Wolf, it’s up to you now," Su Ran said as he stepped back holding Su Wanxia, his men also stepping back.

Black Wolf nearly burst with pent-up frustration. Now they were retreating, making him the frontline, and calling him "Black Wolf bro"?

Wasn’t this just using him as a shield?
