Chapter 307: 303, morning
Mia Foster had just climbed into bed when Felix Shaw turned his face towards her, took a drag of his cigarette, and exhaled with an insouciant air.
"I’m flying to Banyan City tomorrow, wanna join?"
"No way!" came the decisive two-word retort, leaving no room for negotiation.
Just as Mia was about to lie down, she suddenly remembered something. She got up from the bed, took out a check and a pen from her bag, scribbled her signature hastily, tore it off, and flung it directly at Felix Shaw’s face.
"Here’s your payment for tonight’s pleasure!"
Undisturbed by such an insult, Felix pressed his cigarette butt into the ashtray, caught the check that fell onto his face, glanced at it, and taunted with a glance at the amount written for two hundred, "Oh, this little? Is it a discounted rate?"
After getting back into bed, Mia snatched the blanket over, and with that move, Felix’s naked body was completely exposed to the air.
Before covering up with the blanket, she glared at him, "With your skills, two hundred is already too much!"
Felix turned his face towards her, his peach blossom eyes brimming with amusement, "What’s the matter? Not satisfied? How about a late-night encore?"
"Get lost!" Mia shoved his handsome face away and turning around, she wrapped herself tightly with the blanket, determined to sleep.
"You really won’t come with me to Banyan City tomorrow?" Felix was somewhat relentless, having just gotten a taste of her and wanted to keep Mia Foster close at hand.
"Not going!" The refusal was just as firm. Mia suddenly turned her head, "Felix Shaw, give me back my passport!"
Felix curled his lips, his peach blossom eyes filled with disdain. Leaning back against the bed, he spoke in an ambiguous tone, "What do you need the passport for? To run back to the States to date that blond pretty boy? Mia Foster, let me tell you, as long as I, Felix Shaw, am alive, don’t even think about making me wear a green hat!"
Mia was not to be outdone, and spit in Felix’s direction.
"Pah! Felix Shaw, you have the nerve to say that. If anyone’s wearing a green hat, how many have I, Mia Foster, worn thanks to you? If I weren’t so strong, those green hats would have buried me!"
Meeting Mia’s disdainful gaze, Felix nervously licked his lips, but still retorted stubbornly, "How can a woman compare with a man? Which man in ancient times did not have three wives and four concubines..."
"Hmm, that’s why they all died young!" Before Felix could finish speaking, Mia coldly interjected, wrapped herself in the blanket once more, and lay down, clearly unwilling to engage with him.
Felix Shaw...
He moved his lips but ultimately found no words to counter.
...
In the early morning, Titus Zane got up to make breakfast while Wesley Foley was still in bed.
Last night, when Wesley had her immobilized in bed, Titus thought he would take advantage of his intoxication to do something to her, but unexpectedly, he just held her, locked gazes with her for a long time, and then let go.
Stretching out on the bed and gazing at the ceiling, she exhales, "Ah, this is so comfy..."
Titus wasn’t sure if he was referencing the comfort of lying in bed or the comfort of holding her in his arms. It was fortunate he didn’t do anything; otherwise, she genuinely didn’t know how she would have reacted.
Feeling some regret, she thought she shouldn’t have sent Xiao Man away. If she had been there, she could have helped handle situations like this.
But then, thinking it over, Titus felt it was right to let Xiao Man leave because Wesley Foley was not like the men she used to deal with. Perhaps, Xiao Man’s intervention wouldn’t have been effective on him.
As she fried eggs in a flat pan, Titus became distracted, failing to notice the footsteps approaching behind her.
Suddenly, her waist was gripped, and her back met a warm chest. A warm breath brushed against her ear; it was Wesley’s lips. The warm breath swept over her earlobe as he spoke, making her heart flutter.
"Morning..." His voice was deep and husky, and Titus stiffened, the spatula slipping from her hand.
