Chapter 302: 298, Seize the opportunity to win his heart back

Nathan Moore gently lifted Olivia Zane into the passenger seat, folded the wheelchair, and placed it in the trunk.

Now, there was also a pair of crutches added inside.

Under the watchful eyes of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Zane, he entered the driver’s seat, started the powerful engine of the Land Rover, and slowly drove away.

To save time, Nathan came straight from the office and hadn’t had time for dinner yet.

His dark eyes focused on the road ahead, his handsome face devoid of any superfluous expression.

"Nathan, have you been very busy lately?" From the passenger seat Olivia initiated a conversation, looking at the man’s profile. Perhaps due to some weight loss, his chiseled features seemed even more pronounced, and his contours more sculptural than before.

"Yeah, I just came from the office and I have a business trip tomorrow."

Olivia Zane...

Suddenly felt somewhat capricious. He was already so busy, and here she was, still asking him to come pick her up.

At the same time, she felt a faint loss. He would be going on a business trip right after taking her home. Turning her head, she looked at the man’s serious profile as he drove, her emotions complex.

"Have you had dinner?" Nathan asked, still looking ahead.

The pinch of heartache intensified; it was so late and yet he had been too busy to have dinner. Olivia thought for a moment and said, "I had a little, but I’m somewhat hungry right now,"

It was a kind thought, wanting to accompany him, but contrary to her wishes, the man driving slightly frowned his handsome eyebrows, and then there was silence for the rest of the journey.

In the Chinese restaurant, Olivia had never seen Nathan eat like this before. Although he was still refined, his movements were clearly more hurried. Whether it was due to being hungry for too long or being in a rush, he buried his head and silently stuffed food into his mouth, not even sparing a moment to exchange a few words with her.

And he no longer looked after her as he used to.

Holding the chopsticks, Olivia felt tasteless about her food. She had already eaten and seeing the man opposite eating in such a manner, her heart felt nothing but a deep pang of sorrow.

As she was reflecting, Nathan had already finished a bowl of rice and, wiping the corners of his lips with a napkin, he spoke.

"Are you done eating?" His tone was plain, lacking the tenderness of the past.

Previously, when he looked at her, Nathan’s gaze and tone were always as gentle as water. Now, nothing but blandness was left.

However, Olivia didn’t mind because she felt sympathy for him, sympathy for the man who was working so hard that he had to combine dinner and a late-night snack.

Putting down her chopsticks, a faint smile curved on her lips, "I’m done. Let’s go back."

"Mm," he answered in a nasal tone, putting down the napkin, called the waiter to pay the bill, and then pushed Olivia out of the restaurant.

It was the same actions as before, yet something seemed missing.

Back in the villa past midnight, sensing Nathan’s indifference, Olivia strived to regain something, perhaps his enthusiasm or his attitude towards her.

So, after Nathan pushed her wheelchair back to her room, she tilted her porcelain doll-like face, looking up at him with a pleading expression, "Nathan, I want to take a bath."

Her words short but her meaning clear, she wanted Nathan’s help, not the housekeeper’s.

Glancing at her indifferently, Nathan didn’t refuse, "I’ll go and run the bathwater, you rest for a bit."

With that, he strode towards the bathroom.

Turning her wheelchair, looking at Nathan’s tall and upright figure entering the bathroom door, Olivia’s lips curled into a smug smile.

She vividly remembered how impulsive he was when he used to bathe her in the past.

Tonight, she couldn’t miss this opportunity. She must reclaim his heart and his person once again!
