Chapter 296: 292, you’re not afraid of getting drunk and taken advantage of by me
In the midst of Titus Zane’s stupor, Wesley Foley continued, "Have I mesmerized you?"
Titus Zane...
She looked at him speechless and helplessly, realizing that this man was indeed as she had imagined: his gentle and refined demeanor was merely a facade, in reality, he was adept at flirting, constantly trying to charm her, leaving her exasperated yet with a hint of excitement in her heart.
Grasping her wine glass, she looked at the man whose presence was as soothing as jade, and Titus Zane, against the norm, sarcastically commented.
"For such a smooth-talker like you to still be single, that’s rather odd."
But Wesley Foley just laughed, his lips slightly tilted, gaze lowered to the wine glass he idly spun in his palm, "I only say sweet nothings to the woman who makes my heart flutter."
"Oh?" Titus Zane raised an eyebrow, intentionally making sure not to reveal her most charming side in front of Wesley Foley, but even when slightly lifting her European eyes, they were still captivating.
"So, you’re saying I should be honored?" she joked, deftly sidestepping Wesley Foley’s implicit advances. If she remembered correctly, this was the third time he had mentioned "heart flutter" in front of her.
Raising her glass towards Wesley Foley, Titus Zane boldly proposed, "Here’s to honor, cheers!"
Wesley Foley lifted the glass from his palm, clinking it lightly with hers, his warm gaze gently upon her, yet he did not move.
Seeing Titus Zane tilt her head back and drink the dark red liquid in her glass in one go, he said, "You’re drinking so fast, aren’t you afraid of getting drunk and giving me a chance to take advantage?"
Setting her empty glass on the coffee table, Titus Zane raised an eyebrow, "Would you?"
"Would."
As the word fell, the man as soothing as jade tilted his head back, and with the sensual movement of his throat, that glass of dark red wine had been drained.
Titus Zane was seated on the edge of the sofa, casually leaning to one side with an elbow propped on the armrest, a finger resting on her temple — a pose she seemed quite accustomed to.
With a slight tilt towards Wesley Foley, her full lips curved in a faint smile, she watched him finish his glass of wine, taking a breath before exhaling as if downing an entire glass of wine in one go was quite the effort.
Titus Zane said.
"With the amount you drink, it’s not yet certain who will get drunk first."
Setting his empty glass down on the coffee table, Wesley Foley’s slender fingers still pinching the stem of the glass, he looked up at Titus Zane slightly out of breath, his eyes faintly red, a normal reaction after drinking.
He took a few seconds before speaking, "Are you that confident?"
"Hmm,"
Titus Zane unfolded her lips, "I can handle a thousand drinks without getting drunk."
When she suffered from severe insomnia, she would drink an entire bottle of red wine in one night and still lie awake until dawn.
Sometimes she truly wished she could get utterly drunk, lie in bed, and have a good sleep, to fall asleep to the point of oblivion. That feeling, it must be wonderful.
Unfortunately, things do not always go as wished.
"Alright," Wesley Foley suddenly uttered, then grabbed the wine bottle, "Tonight, let’s see who gets drunk first."
...
In Banyan City, as the lights outside the window dimmed, Nathan Moore was still buried in his work at the CEO’s office of M.O.
On the corner of his desk, a large stack of documents had been processed, leaving just this booklet, which he intended to finish before his business trip; as for how long he would be staying in Banyan City, he had no set time.
He had told Nicholas Croft that he was going to Banyan City for work just as an excuse, because he had heard Felix Shaw mention wanting to go there, so he used it as a pretext.
Having finished the last bit of work and it was nearly ten o’clock, Nathan Moore organized the documents at the corner of his desk neatly and leaned back in his executive chair, stretching his arms and then massaging his sore neck.
