Chapter 181: 177, Have I ever told you that you look charming when you smile?
Lily glanced at Nathan Moore indifferently, Titus Zane didn’t bother responding, but the disdain in her eyes was unmistakable.
Sometimes humans are so strange, people who used to be like fire and water can now sit down and drink together in peace and tranquility.
Titus Zane had hated Nathan Moore, but gradually, she had let go of that hatred.
Life is short, so short that you don’t know what accident might happen the next second.
She once witnessed a fellow sister from the military family, about her age, who suddenly died ineffectively from a car accident one day.
So, she didn’t want to be hard on herself, always hating someone in her heart. How tiring is that?
The profession she’s in now might seem to make a lot of money and look glamorous, but once found out, how many sisters have been bought off and retaliated against.
"Why aren’t you talking?" Nathan Moore turned his gaze to her, his black gem-like eyes contained a shallow smile, and his handsome face leaned forward, coming closer to Titus Zane’s.
Another indifferent glance, and perhaps because they’d known each other for so long, Titus Zane felt not a hint of panic or a flutter in her heart.
She looked at him, her face calm.
Then she heard Nathan Moore say, "Don’t you think my words make sense?"
"Cut it out!" A single sentence made Titus Zane laugh, and she pushed his head away.
Nathan Moore’s handsome face skewed, and as soon as Titus Zane let go, he leaned in again, his slender lips very close to her ear, so close that his hot breath fell on her earlobe.
"Have I ever told you that you look charming when you smile?"
In the noisy bar, Nathan Moore’s voice was low, his deep and sensual tone was like wine, rich and pleasant to hear.
Titus Zane smiled, her full lips turned up slightly, and her Western-style eyes inadvertently exuded allure.
"Is that the smooth talk you used to charm Lily into your hands?"
An offhanded remark caused Nathan Moore’s expression to stiffen, then he looked down at the red wine in his hand and cursed under his breath, "Such an unromantic woman!"
Nathan Moore’s voice wasn’t loud, and in the noisy setting, if they weren’t so close to each other, such a soft voice would not be clear at all.
"Hmm? Speaking ill of me?" Titus Zane looked at him teasingly, propped her face with one hand, lazy yet exuding charm.
Nathan Moore looked up, his eyebrows arched, and his slightly upturned lips looked somewhat mischievous.
"Are you trying to seduce me?"
Titus Zane helplessly withdrew her gaze and turned aside, "How boring."
Nathan Moore laughed, his slender lips lifting entirely, looking very attractive.
There was a feeling of being in love, full in the heart.
The two did not dwell much on the topic of Olivia Zane, neither deliberately mentioning nor avoiding it.
As if the three were old friends for many years, Olivia Zane’s name would come up inadvertently, only to be temporarily forgotten again just as inadvertently.
Seeing Titus Zane finish the last bit of her red wine, Nathan Moore shook the wine bottle, "Do you want another glass?"
"Are you treating?"
Titus Zane turned her eyes towards him, her slightly raised eyebrows prompting a flutter in Nathan Moore’s heart, and he cast his eyes down, hiding that tiny bit of shyness, his slender lips still lifted up.
"Yeah, as long as you like, I’ll treat you for a lifetime."
Titus Zane placed her empty glass in front of him, and Nathan Moore silently poured another glass of red wine.
"Drink a little less, don’t get so drunk that you lose consciousness."
Thank goodness he had been with her all that night, if she had been alone... the consequences would have been inconceivable.
Just looking at the wolfish glints in the eyes around them was enough to imagine what could have happened.
