Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride -

Chapter 138: 138, If it weren’t for using Nathan Moore’s name, it wouldn’t have been so easy.
Under Lucy Zimmerman’s gaze, Titus Zane swaggered away without showing any sign of guilt or fear.
As he reached the office door, he didn’t forget to wave his hand behind him, saying, "No need to see me off."
It seemed that this gesture had become a habit.
In the afternoon, Mr. Tang received a call from Nathan Moore’s assistant informing him that the collaboration between the two companies was canceled. As for the reason...
Another company offered to sign a cooperation with M.O at a rate one percentage point lower than Mr. Tang’s company.
One percentage point, for an order worth hundreds of millions, amounts to a substantial figure; moreover, since the two companies were of the same level, even their proposals were largely the same, anyone would choose the latter.
Mr. Tang couldn’t understand it; the deal was already settled, and it was M.O who proposed the price. Why would they suddenly decide against cooperation?
He had thought this partnership would bring substantial profits to the company, but now...
Mr. Tang spent the afternoon holding emergency meetings in the office, working overtime, with no time to think about "beauties."
Meanwhile, at the exit of the highway in Z City, a silver sedan slowly came to a stop. Once past the toll booth, it rapidly accelerated, quickly leaving the city behind.
Inside the car, Titus Zane dressed elegantly in Diana Dickinson’s fall attire, her large wavy brown hair casually tied at the back of her head, with loose strands lazily hanging by her ears, adding a touch of charm.
Sunglasses covered her eyes, hiding the emotions within. She looked ahead through the windshield.
From the driver’s seat, Little Man glanced at her excitedly through the rearview mirror.
"Carry, this deal brought in a good profit, huh?"
"Hmmm," Titus Zane responded indifferently, her delicate chin slightly tilted, appearing somewhat haughty.
"How much is ’hmmm’?" Little Man asked curiously. In this deal, she earned a ten-digit sum; surely Carry made much more.
"Not much more than you."
Still speaking in an indifferent tone, her half-covered face beneath the sunglasses remained the same.
Little Man secretly pouted. Who would believe that!
Wasn’t it always they who reaped the substantial gains while she, an unknown yet sacrificing little shrimp, got the leftovers?
Titus Zane hadn’t expected this deal to be completed so effortlessly either.
All thanks to Mr. Tang’s wife and... Nathan Moore.
If it weren’t for leveraging his name, it wouldn’t have been this easy.
"Carry, which city are we off to next? Can we go to Capital City? I saw the Great Wall on TV; it looks so majestic, and I’d love to visit it myself."
"We haven’t received any new assignments; we’ll have to wait for instructions from Lucy," she replied.
"Carry, why don’t we go to Capital City for fun in the meanwhile, since we don’t have any new targets."
Little Man suggested through the rearview mirror glancing at Titus Zane.
"No, Lucy told us to go to F City and wait for instructions there, and it’s best if we lay low for the next half a month."
Discontented, Little Man muttered, "Laying low for half a month might just kill us."
It’s a five-hour drive from Z City to F City.
As night fell, Little Man returned the rented car to F City’s branch and then went to another rental company to get a new car.
She drove back to pick up Titus Zane from the cafe.
After finding a hotel and settling Titus Zane’s luggage in the room, Little Man sneakily slipped away.
It was still early; only the elderly would be cooped up watching TV at this hour.
Following Google Maps, she headed to the hottest nightclub in F City, where celebrities and rich young heirs were said to frequent.
Looking at the neon lights flashing at the entrance of the nightclub, Little Man took a deep breath and walked right in.
