Chapter 131: 131, Boss Tang’s wife comes to catch the cheater
In the private room, music, singing, and the sound of playing finger-guessing games melded into one cacophony. Mr. Qi chose the song "True Love" and handed the microphone to Boss Tang.
"Boss Tang, how about a duet with your wife? Let’s also treat the brothers to a feast for their ears." Among them, Boss Tang was the oldest and famously loved to belt out tunes. Though he was notably tone-deaf, he had a loud voice.
At every gathering, he insisted on belting a few numbers before calling it a night.
Without hesitation, Boss Tang put his arm around Titus Zane’s shoulder and stood up, "Come on, honey, let’s dazzle the brothers today."
As he spoke, Boss Tang stuffed the other mic into Titus Zane’s hand. Titus Zane tried to refuse, "Oh no, I really can’t, let’s not embarrass ourselves..."
"Don’t be so modest, sister-in-law, you’re so beautiful, and you speak like a melodious bird. I bet your singing is lovely too." Nobody knew who threw in this flattering remark from behind, and then all the men in the room chimed in.
"Yeah, sister-in-law, don’t be modest..."
Nathan Moore slightly furrowed his brows amidst the men’s repeated calls of "sister-in-law." His dark eyes gradually narrowed as he stared at Titus Zane without looking away.
And Ewan Zimmerman, when Mr. Qi first called out "sister-in-law," couldn’t help but turn his gaze towards his own CEO. The young man’s face showed nothing but shock.
He never expected the CEO’s ex, known for her aloofness and otherworldliness, to stoop to maintaining her lifestyle by attaching herself to a rich man.
Though not from the same city, Boss Tang was famously lecherous and well-known within their circles.
Moreover, Boss Tang was famously scared of his wife. Although he had never seen her, he’d heard that his wife, a formidable tigeress, had injured many entertainers who had dalliances with Boss Tang.
Among the cheering crowd, Titus Zane was half-pushed, half-willingly led onto the stage by Boss Tang. As the music started, just as Titus Zane was about to sing, the tightly closed room door was kicked open.
Immediately, a burly woman appeared at the door. She was dressed in a printed floral dress, hands on hips, with her curly hair tied up in an enormous bun on top of her head.
Her feet were clad in branded leather shoes that, unfortunately, seemed distorted under her weight, making them look as cheap and shabby as something you’d find at a street stall.
"Sorry, I couldn’t stop her..." the server behind her apologized to the guests in the room, when suddenly, an ear-piercing roar thundered through the area.
"Where is that little vixen! Where is the vixen!" Lucy Zimmerman stood at the doorway, scanning the faces inside the room.
Perhaps because he had been through this many times, Boss Tang reacted quickly, setting down his microphone and smiling as he went to grab Lucy Zimmerman’s hand.
"Oh dear wife, what nonsense are you talking about? There’s no little vixen here. If there is a vixen, it’s you," teased Boss Tang playfully as he went to pinch Lucy Zimmerman’s cheek, only to be robustly pushed away by her.
"Get lost! Don’t try to bluff me! I’ve received tips that you brought back some vixen from abroad!"
"Oh dear wife, who’s so vile to make stuff up like that? They’re clearly trying to drive a wedge between us!"
His wife was causing a commotion in front of his business associates, yet Boss Tang continued placating her with good humor.
As for why Lucy Zimmerman had such confidence, it was because when Boss Tang was young, he was a poor scholar with talent that was not appreciated. Lucy’s family, which made a fortune contracting orchards, admired Boss Tang’s talent and pushed her father to finance a company for him to run.
