Chapter 220: Are You Threatening Me Now?
Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Are You Threatening Me Now?
Meanwhile, Daniel was secretly enjoying the moment. Watching his wife argue out of jealousy made him feel over the moon.
Finally, this stubborn woman showed she cared. She still had feelings for me!
Nothing could beat how happy he felt.
"Daniel, are you really going to let her treat me like this?" Camille said while looking directly into Daniel’s eyes. "I’m the only daughter of the Nelsen family. I come from a powerful background!"
Of course, she knew Daniel had married someone and even had a child. But from what she’d heard, it was just some no-name woman from the countryside.
Camille couldn’t dig up anything on Chantelle. People said she kept such a low profile that no trace of her could be found. Camille was sure Chantelle must’ve used some sneaky trick to make Daniel marry her.
She believed Daniel would eventually leave her.
A smart and capable man like him would know who really deserved to be by his side.
"My wife is right, Ms. Nelsen. Don’t call me that again." Daniel said to Camille, but his eyes were focused on Chantelle’s beautiful face.
The way he looked at her was full of warmth, and anyone watching him would feel jealous.
"Daniel, this isn’t fair! I’m the one being bullied, but you’re taking her side just because she’s your wife!"
"Camille, sweetie, do you hear yourself? He’s my husband. Of course, he’s going to side with me. Isn’t that normal? How can you be so shameless? You come from a wealthy family, yet you’re acting like you’re desperate to be someone’s mistress. Don’t you even know what self-respect is?"
"You... Hmph! You’re both ganging up on me! Fine, I’ll leave!"
Camille knew she had lost this round. There was no point in staying any longer, so she turned to storm off.
But just as she was about to walk away, Chantelle blocked her path.
"Stop right there!"
"What now?" Camille gritted her teeth as she faced Chantelle, clearly fed up.
She had never been embarrassed like this before—especially not in front of the man she liked.
"Ms. Nelsen, you were the one who caused trouble first. You damaged our office, and now you want to leave like nothing happened? You really think I’ll let you go easily?"
"That’s your fault! You brought this on yourself!"
"Well, I’ll give you credit for having good taste since you’re aftering my husband. You can pay for the damages at market value, and I’ll let it go. But if you refuse, we’ll let the police handle it."
"Oh, so now you’re threatening me?"
"That wasn’t a threat. But what I’m about to say next is a threat."
"What?"
"This is a video of you wrecking the association office, Ms. Nelsen. You can choose whether to protect your reputation or pay for the damage. It’s all up to you."
"You’re taking this too far!"
"Oh? Now you get it? That’s what a real threat sounds like."
Chantelle had cornered Camille immediately, and she showed a strong and confident look.
Camille had never faced a woman like this before. A fear began to rise in her chest.
This wasn’t good. Her hand started shaking.
"Say whatever you want, but the Nelsen family isn’t easy to mess with. I’ve never been threatened like this in my life!"
"Then think of this as me doing you a favor and waking you up. I’ll have the invoice ready soon. Once you pay for the damage, you’re free to go." Chantelle waved at Calvin to start calculating the costs.
Calvin knew exactly what to do. He quickly pulled out a mini scanner and began scanning everything that was damaged in the office.
Within minutes, a long compensation form was printed out.
Camille finally realized Chantelle wasn’t bluffing. She was so furious she could barely hold her temper.
It wasn’t about the money as she could easily pay, but if she gave in that meant she admitted her mistake.
And there was no way she was going to do that.
She couldn’t do anything with Daniel standing there. If he weren’t around, she would’ve ripped Chantelle apart on the spot.
"This all started because she tried to frame me! That’s why my people reacted the way they did. Why should I be the one to pay for this? She’s clearly trying to squeeze money out of me!"
Camille kept lying as she rushed over to Daniel and grabbed his arm like she was seeking protection.
"Daniel, she’s scary... I totally get why you don’t like her. Please help me..."
Daniel had been silently enjoying the way Chantelle acted out of jealousy. But the moment Camille grabbed him he instantly felt nervous and looked uncomfortable.
His instincts kicked in. Daniel pulled his arm away from Camille like it was nothing.
He didn’t just pull away but he did it with a strong force that Camille nearly lost her balance.
"Watch yourself! Don’t touch me like that! My wife won’t like it!" Daniel’s hand was shaking slightly, showing how tense he was.
He had no problem making his wife jealous on purpose. But being caught getting close to another woman?
That was something he’d never allow.
He wouldn’t dare risk it.
He had just managed to calm his wife down. If he messed up again and made her walk away in anger, he’d regret it for sure.
"Daniel, why are you acting like this? I don’t want to hear anything from that woman..." Camille said as she steadied herself and tried to get close to him again, wearing that sad, helpless look.
Daniel didn’t hide his growing irritation. He was just about to give a final warning, but before he could speak, his wife acted.
A sharp snap echoed through the room. Camille’s wrist seemed to flop down as if the strings on it were cut.
Camille’s wrist was dislocated, and she let out a sharp scream of pain. She had never felt anything like this before. Her face went pale.
"Ahh! My hand! It’s broken!"
She clutched her wrist, completely lost and panicking.
"You don’t want to pay for the damage, right? Fine. I’ll count your wrist as payment. We’re even now. But if you ever touch my man again, I swear I’ll take your whole arm next time. Try me if you think I’m bluffing."
"Calvin, call an ambulance for this woman. And for the others who caused the mess—send them to the police."
"Got it, Ms. Chantelle."
The chaos finally ended with Camille’s dislocated wrist as the closing scene.
Chantelle got the outcome she wanted, and that put her in a pretty good mood.
