Chapter 549: Chapter 549: Goodbye! Gu Annan! (1)

Lu Wanwan returned to the Gu Mansion at eleven o’clock at night.

Even though her requirements were so simple, wanting nothing, it still took until now to get the agreement after talking with the lawyer.

"Young Madam, why are you only just getting back?" Auntie Li’s face showed concern. "I tried calling you, but I couldn’t get through."

Lu Wanwan changed her shoes, "Auntie Li, my phone was out of battery. Don’t worry, I’m fine."

Auntie Li looked at her, "It’s not a matter of being fine or not, it’s that...."

"Is Gu Annan here?" She discerned the answer from the difficulty in Auntie Li’s eyes.

"Yes, the young master came back a while ago."

"Good, I’ll go upstairs now, I have something to discuss with him."

Auntie Li watched her retreating figure, feeling that the Young Madam seemed somehow different.

But she couldn’t quite put her finger on what exactly was different, a vague worry tugging at her heart.

Lu Wanwan pushed open the door to the room, and before she could switch on the light, only a faint sliver of moonlight spilled in from the balcony.

It was only when she walked in that she suddenly stopped in her tracks, the room filled with a light scent of tobacco.

A distinguished figure sat on the sofa, legs crossed, an elbow casually resting on the armrest, as if not sure whether he was waiting for her or merely sitting there by himself.

When he heard her approach, Gu Annan slowly turned his head, his handsome features even more profound in the dim light, although his expression was somewhat cold.

"What time is it?" His voice was calmly neutral of emotion.

"Eleven o’clock."

She drew a quiet breath, glanced at him, then quickly looked away, not wishing to linger on his presence.

Gu Annan saw her reaction to him and abruptly stood up, his face tensing.

He closed in quickly, his large hand firmly pinning her hands against the wall behind her.

Lu Wanwan’s brows knitted together, the smell of tobacco from his body growing stronger.

"I’ve said before, without my permission, you can’t take a step outside the villa," Gu Annan’s face was stern, his voice becoming especially chilly with each word after she furrowed her brows.

"Auntie Li finally agreed," she said.

He gave a cold laugh, looking at the face so close to his, the soft lashes casting faint shadows beneath her eyes.

She wasn’t angry, nor was she making a scene; her calmness, however, was like stirring up a thousand waves in his heart.

"So, tonight is Auntie Li’s last night here. She can roll out tomorrow!" he said.

He waited for Lu Wanwan to plead on behalf of Auntie Li, but what he heard was her indifferent voice, "That’s your business."

Gu Annan’s gaze turned icy, that light and unconcerned dismissal suddenly snapping the tense strings in his heart.

In a reckless move, he kissed her fervently, as if there was a void in his heart that made it impossible to let go for even a moment, fearing he’d never be able to catch her again if he did.

Lu Wanwan tasted blood in her mouth once more, her clothes torn into disarray, right when he pressed her firmly against him, intent on unbuckling his belt.

"Gu Annan, are you planning to force yourself on me again?" Her voice was full of scorn, her eyes holding an unyielding defiance and resistance.

She might not be able to overpower him in strength, but if she didn’t want it, it was a firm no.

The moment she had seen him earlier, she had thought of backing out.

But now, her decision was even firmer.

He abruptly stopped, lips pressed tightly, his chest heaving, dark eyes brooding, his look stern and cold.

"If you want to continue, please hurry up. If you’ve lost interest in playing with someone, let me get dressed, as I have something else to say."

The hatred in his eyes was unprecedented, burning with fury.

Seeing that he wasn’t going to continue, Lu Wanwan got up, draped her clothes on, and pulled the divorce agreement from her bag that had been tossed aside earlier.

"Since there’s no better solution, sign it," she said.
