Chapter 490: Chapter 490 Didn’t Expect You to be this Kind of Cousin (2)

Having her wear this outfit, moving back and forth in front of him early in the morning, would she even be able to move today?

Who was it that told her to behave yesterday, only to end up dressing her in such improper attire while she was oblivious at night?

Her face flushed as she went to open the wardrobe, looking for the most normal suit.

Right, this was for his own good.

Just by looking at Gu Annan’s outfit, it was clear he was heading to the company today—he hadn’t been performing his duties for too long.

When Lu Wanwan came out, Gu Annan was just standing by the dining table waiting.

On the table was a lavish Western breakfast, but only enough for one person.

"Aren’t you eating breakfast?"

Gu Annan, with a suit jacket hanging over one arm, nodded at her, "Already had mine, I should get going."

"Then why aren’t you going?" she questioned, glancing at him curiously as she headed towards breakfast.

Her waist tightened suddenly as he quickly pulled her back.

She looked up to meet the man’s displeased eyes, his deep gaze fixed on her as he furrowed his brow, "Why do you think I’m not going?"

"Not full yet? Wanting to mooch some more?"

He glared at that little teasing look in her eyes, lifted his hand to press her cheek towards his and kissed her fiercely.

Reluctantly letting go, he left her with one sentence, "If I’m late for the meeting, it’s all on you!"

After eating breakfast, she moved to the window to watch the hazy sunlight outside, feeling the weather was quite nice.

Her body felt sore, making her too lazy to move.

Suddenly, her phone vibrated; it was a message from Ji Shaoyang.

"Found Qiaoqiao."

Not feeling like fiddling with her phone, she dialed directly.

"Hello," came a delicate voice from the other end, "Wanwan, it’s me."

Unexpectedly, the call was answered by Wen Qiao, she laughed, "Hanging out with Brother Shaoyang early in the morning?"

"I... am working," Wen Qiao said, "I am his assistant."

Holding a cup of yogurt in her hand, basking in the sun, Lu Wanwan smiled lazily, "That’s perfect, Brother Shaoyang lacked an assistant like you."

Wen Qiao laughed a little sheepishly, then added, "Thank you for yesterday."

"It was me meddling yesterday, sorry, I didn’t know he was your brother," she was a bit annoyed, thinking she had overreacted, "Seeing how fierce he looked... I mean, how cold his demeanor was, I thought he was a bad guy. Qiaoqiao, your brother really has that kind of mafia vibe. Like he could pull out a gun and rob someone any minute."

Wen Qiao paused for a moment, "He... does look like that."

"Just a joke," Lu Wanwan, noticing her serious tone, felt remorse, "I was out of place yesterday, made a fool of myself, I’ll treat you to dinner next time."

"I knew you were trying to help me yesterday, I could tell. Anyway, I still want to thank you," Wen Qiao said earnestly.

"It’s nothing, if you were gone, how could I explain to Brother Shaoyang."

After a while, the phone was handed over to Ji Shaoyang.

"It seems I can be quite relieved leaving her with you," he laughed on the other end, "Come over when you have time, Qiaoqiao wants to thank you by treating you to dinner. I’ll check later if Annan is available."

"She’s treating me to dinner, why are you guys joining in the fun."

"Can’t I come?"

"No," Lu Wanwan laughed, "By the way, her brother didn’t say anything to her, right? Being an adult, it’s normal to go out and have fun. Why did she run away from home?"

"Her family is not in Manchester, she grew up in France and came here on her own."
