Chapter 396 396: Fishing Game.

She ignored what he said and asked, "Are you in or not?"

He replied confidently, "I'm in."

She nodded in satisfaction and said, "Good. We will go there directly after the intersect competition."

She had said all that she came to say and had no intention to hear what else he had to say, so she turned and flew away immediately after speaking.

After she left, Thor asked him, "What's that about?"

Arthur thought about how to answer the question as simply as possible, so he replied with a question, "Have you heard of the fishing game?"

The fishing game is what Elder Storm Hawk was asking him about. She had first asked him about it when he reached the fourth transformation and was able to use the divine lightning armament for the first time.

At that time, she didn't say much about what exactly it was. She had only said that he could participate in it when he reached the peak of the second mortal coil.

He reached the peak five years ago, but he didn't participate in the fishing game yet because he wanted to finish forging the rank 3 divine lightning armament. But after he finished forging the armament, he forgot about the fishing game.

Jason didn't think so. He said, "I don't think being used as bait is lucky."

Goldwyn scoffed in disagreement. "Bah. He is strong enough, so he will survive being used as bait. He might gain a lot from this, so I think he is lucky."

Jason didn't listen to Goldwyn. Instead, he found other, more reliable reasons for himself to believe that Arthur might be lucky.

He said, "You have Elder Storm Hawk with you, so you should be safe. I hear that she is already at the peak of the third mortal coil and is just transforming herself into a proper fighting machine."

Goldwyn said with longing, "That means that she can reach the fourth mortal coil at any time. How great would that be if I were in her place?"

For once, everyone agreed with Goldwyn. They too thought that it would be great to have her power.

The four of them continued to chat about various topics. The airship took off while they were chatting.

Along the way to the secret realm, Thor elbowed Arthur subtly and gestured with his chin in the direction of two people.

Arthur looked over and saw that the two people were Leroy and Princess. Both of them were holding hands and occasionally publicly expressing their affection for one another.

Arthur saw this and said, "Good for Leroy. I didn't think he could do it, but he did."

Thor didn't think what Leroy achieved was impressive at all. Instead he gritted his teeth in anger and said, "Is it against the rules if I attack the other disciples of our sect?

Arthur raised an eyebrow as he replied, "I don't think it is against the rules. In fact, I think everyone is supposed to attack each other, regardless of our sects. It is because of camaraderie and respect that we don't attack those from our sect."

Thor kept gritting his teeth as he said, "Then she is in for a lot of trouble because I don't respect her or want to be comrades with her."

Jason saw Thor's behavior and said, "This seems to be the first time I have seen you get angry. Why are you angry with her? Are you jealous of her?"

Goldwyn asked with a teasing tone, "Do you want to be her, or do you want to be the guy she is holding hands with?"

Thor replied with some frustration, "I'm not jealous of her."

Arthur also defended him by saying, "Even if he were jealous of her, it wouldn't be the reason for him to attack her. Thor is proud that way."

Thor nodded and said, "Exactly. I'm angry with her because she defeated me."

Princess had indeed defeated him. It was the worst defeat in his life too. To top things off, she had laughed and mocked him.

The fight was during the sect competition that is held every five years. It is after this competition that the best 1,000 people are selected to represent the sect in the intersect competition.

S-grade disciples don't need to participate in the competition, but Thor did because he wanted exceptional test subjects to practice with and test his golems against, while Princess wanted to show off and feel superior to humans.

The two of them met in the competition, and he was defeated without a chance to fight back. In Thor's defense, he was just at the seventh transformation while she was at the tenth transformation. But the defeat was still bad.

Thor had been able to bully his previous opponents with his golem, but he couldn't do that with Princess because she used her divine ability to stun his mind.

His mind was stunned right from the beginning of the competition, so Thor couldn't control his golem. He stood there as he was knocked down.

Then Princess mocked him for being weak and relying on external things for power. Her behavior was disrespectful and offensive.

To be fair, she didn't do this to just Thor. She made fun of everyone that she defeated equally. She also did so in an unsavory manner.

This defeat and the fact that she looked happy right now made Thor decide to seek revenge on her.
