Mountain Looting: Targeted by a Leopard at the Start
Chapter 87: The fox can’t really learn from its death!

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: The fox can’t really learn from its death!

These two days were busy with setting up the greenhouse.

It took two days to sell the ginseng, and constructing the greenhouse also took two days—in the blink of an eye, the Treasure Compass had been used four times.

Time flies when you’re busy.

Tomorrow will mark the fifth use of the Treasure Compass, so I’ll need to head back to the mountain to check.

Sometimes, Xu Yang would gaze at the nearby mountain and could still spot traces of the leopard’s activity.

To be honest, the stability of the farm owes much to these two leopards.

Leopards patrol their territory and do not allow other hunters to exist, so creatures like wild wolves, mountain weasels, lynxes, and Mongolian wildcats dare not roam on this mountain.

They don’t need to drive anyone away; their presence is enough.

So, Xu Yang also hoped the leopard could stay put on this mountain peak.

Sometimes, when he was free, he would go in and spend some time with the leopard.

Xiao Hua had grown a bit, but still looked somewhat clumsy, especially with those clear, big eyes that didn’t show any fierceness at all.

Although the female leopard was very gentle with Xu Yang, one could still feel the dangerous aura emanating from her.

The little leopard had none of it.

Xu Yang was worried about what to do when the little leopard grew up.

He could only assume that big cats mature late.

"Xiao Hua, give me a fierce look, come on, show me a fierce one!"

Xu Yang, holding Xiao Hua, said.

The little leopard blinked at Xu Yang, looking utterly clumsy.

Not a trace of fierceness could be seen.

Sometimes that’s just how feline animals are.

For instance, a wild tiger simply lowers its body a bit, giving off a majestic vibe.

While tigers raised in some zoos appear dopey and innocent, their eyes revealing an air of innocence.

"You should learn from your mom; being this dopey won’t do."

Xu Yang put down Xiao Hua, giving up on making it look fierce.

After spending time with the leopards, Xu Yang planned to go into the mountain again tomorrow.

He decided not to worry about anything else and just use the Treasure Compass for the fifth time at Golden River.

Lately, he had indeed been busy and could not spare time to go deep into the mountain.

The importance of Golden River became apparent.

The next day, Xu Yang headed into the mountain early in the morning, leaving the greenhouse matter to his family to watch over.

This time he traveled light.

He carried just a small bag and a stick.

He didn’t even start a live broadcast.

Because he carried less, it seemed as though he had the wind at his heels.

He even specifically went to find the leopard mother and son.

"Big Flower, Xiao Hua!"

Xu Yang found them and smiled.

"Let’s go, take you guys for a patrol around the territory!"

He said again.

The two leopards ran over happily, the little leopard’s face brimming with a smile, which was very noticeable. Although the mother leopard’s expression remained serious, she nudged Xu Yang with her head after coming close.

Little tigers and little leopards are all like this; cute when they are young, and quite aloof when they grow up.

Xu Yang picked up the little leopard only to find that the little guy had become quite heavy unknowingly.

He first met it when it was three months old; now it was almost five months old.

Its body had developed well, and it was chubby.

"Quite heavy, indeed."

"Walk by yourself for a while."

Xu Yang put the little guy down.

The little one was not pleased and immediately ran in front of Xu Yang, howling.

"Alright, I’ll hold you for a while longer."

Xu Yang picked up the little leopard again.

This guy’s personality was indeed strange.

But considering a leopard is a cat, it was somewhat understandable.

Cats are of two kinds, one that runs off at full speed when it sees people as if touching it would kill it; the other loves to act cute, wishing to be petted eight hundred times a day.

"You’re already quite heavy now, I probably won’t be able to carry you once you grow bigger."

Xu Yang couldn’t help but sigh.

He carried the leopard outside, with the mother leopard leisurely following behind.

Xu Yang wasn’t moving fast, almost like a stroll for the mother leopard.

Just then, something happened; the mother leopard seemed to have noticed something and suddenly became alert.

She stopped walking and seemed to be listening for some noise.

The next second, the mother leopard suddenly dashed out.

It was the first time Xu Yang had seen the mother leopard act this way.

He followed behind.

As he pushed through a patch of grass, he saw that the mother leopard already had a small wild boar in her mouth.

The little wild boar was still struggling, floundering in the mouth of the mother leopard.

Xu Yang watched this scene, somewhat surprised.

After all, seeing a leopard hunt up close, except for wildlife photographers in Africa, no one else could achieve that.

Xiao Hua looked on expectantly.

It didn’t know how to hunt, but it knew how to eat.

A child with a mom is like a treasure, this little guy wasn’t thinking about practicing hunting skills at all.

Just waiting.

Who knew how it would turn out when it grew up.

Xu Yang put down Xiao Hua, "Okay, you two eat here, I won’t disturb you during this scene."

"You guys do your thing."

Xu Yang waved his hand and turned to leave.

Xiao Hua just waited on the side.

Then, Xu Yang made his way to the Golden River.

It was an ordinary-looking river.

Rushing down from the mountain.

It seemed no different from other rivers.

But only Xu Yang knew of the treasure it contained.

He arrived at the riverbank and used the Treasure Compass.

The location of the treasure pointed out by the Treasure Compass was indeed within the river.

He searched precisely and quickly found a very small piece of gold.

Xu Yang smiled.

"It’s certainly gold."

"If I came here to pan for gold by myself, it would depend too much on luck, and it would be very physically demanding with no guaranteed high returns."

"It’s better to come here with the Treasure Compass when I’m busy."

In a deep forest within the vast Changbai Mountain Range, Xu Yang took off his shoes, rolled up his pants legs, and quietly panned for gold in a rapidly flowing stream.

He used up all five chances on his Treasure Compass. One of the hiding spots was in a deeper area, and Xu Yang had to dive in to find it.

He managed to get five gold grains without any mishaps.

However, the gold grains he found this time were smaller than the ones he had found before.

The largest one was about ten grams.

This meant that the ones he would find later would get smaller and smaller.

He couldn’t depend on this to strike it rich.

Moreover, Xu Yang hadn’t figured out yet how to sell the gold, always worried about being targeted.

He could only keep it as an emergency reserve for now.

After finding the gold, Xu Yang went directly down the mountain.

He still had to monitor the installation of the greenhouses.

Both of these new greenhouses were intelligent ones and required a large investment.

He needed to plant crops quickly to make back the investment before winter came, leveraging the greenhouses.

There were still many things to consider.

On his way back, the two leopards didn’t show up; probably they had rested after enjoying their meal.

Wild boars are all sinew, suitable for animals like leopards that have high physical demands.

There were still many people at the farm.

As Xu Yang approached the farm, he saw three little foxes standing outside the farm fence, cautiously surveying the situation inside.

They had originally planned to come to the farm for food, but they didn’t dare to enter because there were so many people.

The three little creatures were sneaky, huddling their heads together, looking rather comical.

Xu Yang couldn’t help but take out his phone and record this scene.

He could post a video later.

He also quietly provided a narration:

"Look at these three little foxes, there are many people on the farm, they want to go in but dare not, quite funny."

"Foxes have strong hunting skills, these three little guys have no problem hunting, it’s purely because they are gluttonous."

"After I fed them dried fruits and sweet cookies, they started liking to run to me for snacks."

"They probably want snacks again."

As Xu Yang narrated, he slowly moved closer to the foxes.

His movements were nimble, and the foxes didn’t even notice him.

Xu Yang walked up behind the foxes, cleared his throat slightly, then gave a soft cough.

"Ahem!"

The sound startled the little foxes, making them leap in place.

When they turned around and saw it was Xu Yang, they ran over, whining cutely.

The three little creatures looked especially interesting.

"Here to ask for food again?"

"Ok, I’ll get you some fruit."

"And jelly, Cici’s brand, ever tried it?"

Xu Yang squatted and stroked the three little creatures, laughing.

Then, he stood up, rested his hand on the fence, and with a slight push, his entire body nimbly vaulted over it.

The three little foxes mustered up the courage to follow him inside but still didn’t dare to come too close.

Soon, Xu Yang came out with a bag in his hand.

All filled with delicious snacks.

Foxes are omnivorous canines, similar to dogs, but they love fruits more than meat.

Human food is too tempting for them.

Xu Yang opened a few jellies and began feeding them one by one to the foxes.

When the foxes tasted the jelly, they seemed deliriously happy, whimpering while rapidly digging the ground.

Their fluffy tails couldn’t stop swinging.

Foxes have large, soft tails, which make them appear even more agile.

"Hahaha, never had this, have you?"

"I guessed you three would love it."

"You come here just for the snacks."

Xu Yang laughed.

The forest lacked fruit, even though there were wild berries; they were tiny red berries that couldn’t compare with human-bought fruits and snacks.

The three little creatures looked young and adorable, seemingly inexperienced with the world.

Foxes become independent early, the little foxes could already catch mice.

With jelly in hand, the whining around Xu Yang continued. Each sound of their whimpering grew louder.

Hearing the noise, Little Black and Yuanbao came running over.

Mr. Qiang always has competent contenders.

Even Yuanbao couldn’t learn this little fox trick.

Each was vying for attention more than the other.
