Mountain Looting: Targeted by a Leopard at the Start
Chapter 375 - 373 Little Wolf, I Thought You Were the Best Behaved!

Chapter 375: Chapter 373 Little Wolf, I Thought You Were the Best Behaved!

Xu Yang sat halfway up the mountain, holding a pair of binoculars, gazing at the scene below at the farm.

Tractors were working the fields, a construction team was still perfecting the equipment inside the greenhouses, and two employees were herding the sheep out, with Little Black and Maquan following in tow.

The farm was teeming with life, full of vibrancy.

Just then, Black Bear sidled up next to Xu Yang, curiously sizing up the binoculars.

It seemed to say,

"Brother, what are you looking at? Let me have a look too."

This guy stood next to Xu Yang like a little sidekick.

Another Black Bear stood not far off, awkwardly, looking a bit clumsy.

This Black Bear had escaped from a circus, probably whipped and taught from a young age, which is why it acted so restrained.

Now free, it inevitably still couldn’t relax.

"Go on, go play over there."

Xu Yang waved them off with his hand.

After getting familiar, these two Black Bears really loved to crowd around him.

Every time he came to the back mountain, these two guys would follow, looking incredibly docile.

Seeing Xu Yang’s gesture, Black seemed to understand right away and bounced off to the side, obedient as could be.

There was a sense of "if you say roll, I’ll roll."

Xu Yang heard a notification from WeChat, took out his phone, and saw that it was from Su Yutong.

He sat there and chatted with her for a while.

Sitting on the mountaintop chatting felt pretty good.

Talking to her was quite interesting.

Xu Yang thought about visiting her again.

Generally speaking, if it was a fleeting encounter and their futures didn’t align, Xu Yang wouldn’t pay it much mind.

After all, he wasn’t the type to date casually.

Su Yutong felt the same, both had plans for their futures.

They had discussed life and dreams.

Su Yutong really liked the mainland. She attended university here and preferred life on the mainland.

On Taiwan, many girls wanted to marry into the mainland, especially to places like Capital City, Pudong, or Jiangsu and Zhejiang.

Su Yutong’s original plan was, after her graduation trip, to return to Taiwan where her family had arranged a cushy, respectable job, and then she’d probably spend her life on the island.

This graduation trip was to reminisce about the mainland one last time.

She had thought about marrying into the mainland, but it was just a thought; many had pursued her, but none gave her a sense of security.

Those people weren’t aiming for a shared future.

She didn’t want to pay them much attention.

But Xu Yang gave her a different vibe, and their conversations started from getting to know each other and gradually touched upon their views of the future.

At least they were mostly aligned.

So what followed was getting familiar and understanding each other.

After knowing her thoughts, Xu Yang felt they could have a future together.

They talked a lot.

Xu Yang asked her where they were planning to go now, and upon learning they planned to visit Zhangjiajie, he planned to go there too.

Zhangjiajie is most famous for Tianmen Mountain and the Wulingyuan Scenic Spot.

Both are different mountain ranges.

Wulingyuan is vast while Tianmen Mountain is famous worldwide for its enormous mountain cave, even Korea takes pride in visiting Tianmen Mountain.

Xu Yang and Su Yutong scheduled their trip.

They would leave the day after tomorrow; Xu Yang thought the timing suited him too and planned to leave then as well.

Xu Yang was actually quite excited about this.

Mainly because not only was Su Yutong beautiful, but all her attributes were pluses — almost everyone liked that.

It was all about whether they could meet or not.

The two Black Bears watched Xu Yang typing on his phone while smiling happily; both were quite curious.

They didn’t understand what was so good about a phone that it could make someone so happy.

Having chatted enough, Xu Yang stood up, ready to descend the mountain.

Seeing the Black Bears still there, he took them for a walk around and checked on his orchard.

Most of the grafted apple pears were thriving.

If nothing unexpected happened, they should bear fruit in a few months.

That would mean another source of income.

The fun of farming lay in this: watching the livestock fatten, watching the crops grow, feeling the wealth accumulate.

But wealth wasn’t wealth until it was liquid; it had to be cashable.

Xu Yang walked down the mountainside, and the Black Bears dutifully ran into the depths of the forest.

Xu Yang checked the rice crops along the way; in a couple of days, he needed to call the workers to start transplanting. The farm was equipped with transplanters, so it wasn’t too hard.

Once the rice was planted and grown, it might be time to raise some freshwater fish.

After returning to the farm, Xu Yang took a quick look around.

The animals all seemed happy.

He noticed a big goose standing alone next to the pasture, looking a bit ridiculous as it stood on one foot.

You couldn’t help but feel it was a bit absurd.

This guy was also hard to describe.

Very stubborn.

But it was this stubbornness that had gotten it a chance at life; normally, a big goose would be eaten once it grew big, but Xu Yang found this one unique and kept it.

Moreover, Xu Yang planned to find a Swan Lake when the migratory birds returned in the summer and release the big goose there.

Releasing a big goose would have no impact on the ecology; that might even be more suitable for it.

Another day passed, and in the afternoon,

Xu Yang sat in the courtyard resting.

Just then, Little Black suddenly barked twice and then ran inside quickly.

Xu Yang knew something was up, so he followed it outside.

Once outside, he saw two small brown dogs not far away, looking irresistibly cute and clearly very young.

Many animals used the farm like a daycare, like foxes, leopards, etc.

Now clearly, these two small dogs did too.

"Little Black! Look what you’ve done!"

"Is this looking for you again?"

Xu Yang couldn’t help but laugh scoldingly.

"Woof, woof, woof, woof!"

Little Black immediately barked, sounding somewhat anxious.

It seemed to be saying, "I didn’t do this."

Xu Yang understood its words, slightly astonished.

"Not you?"

Xu Yang patted its head.

"I’ve wronged you."

"Then whose pups are these? Yuanbao’s?"

"They do look a bit like Little Ma Quan."

Xu Yang walked over and carefully looked at the two puppies.

These fellows hadn’t fully developed yet and had some difficulty walking, wobbling about.

Xu Yang felt something was off.

These dogs seemed a bit different.

At that moment, Maquan also ran over, wearing an equally innocent expression.

"Yuanbao, are these your pups?"

Xu Yang asked.

Maquan showed an innocent expression, looking somewhat puzzled.

Seeing this, Xu Yang exclaimed,

"Not yours either? Then whose are they?"

"Did they come over by themselves? That shouldn’t be right; so small, a mother dog wouldn’t let them wander off."

"Little Ha’s? That’s even more unlikely since it doesn’t have the ability."

Xu Yang was puzzled when suddenly, Little Wolf approached him and gently tugged at Xu Yang’s pant leg.

Xu Yang looked down; Little Wolf’s ears were perked up behind him, a smile on his face, his eyes filled with pleasantry, and his entire face seemed longer than usual.

Xu Yang instantly realized.

"Yours?"

"Where did you get them?"

"These two are wolves?"

Xu Yang crouched down and carefully examined the two little wolves.

To be fair, wolves, when they are first born, don’t look much different from native dogs.

Both are brownish-black, somewhat silly, with chubby heads.

Only when they grow up do they look different.

Xu Yang had not initially thought that these two were wolves.

Now, looking closely, he really saw the difference.

"They really are wolves, Little Wolf, I always thought you were very honest."

Xu Yang said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Little Wolf squinted his eyes showing a pleasing expression, and even ran over to Xu Yang, wagging his tail, and flipped his belly over.

This guy also knew how to please.

"Alright, I can manage to raise them, but where’s their mother, the she-wolf?"

Xu Yang inquired.

Upon hearing this, Little Wolf immediately ran outside and howled a few times.

Soon after, two she-wolves trotted over merrily.

"These two wolves... I remember, they came to my farm in the fall."

Xu Yang recognized the she-wolves in an instant.

He also realized, probably last year Little Wolf had gotten along with these two she-wolves.

And he hadn’t even known.

"Little Wolf, I thought you were the most well-behaved."

"Even have pups now."

"Really... quite remarkable."

Xu Yang remarked sentimentally.

Little Black wore a "you finally noticed" smile, looking extremely happy.

Perhaps in the eyes of these few dogs, this kind of thing is "bad news," and the owner would blame them.

But Xu Yang didn’t think so at all.

Instead, he went to prepare some milk, intending to feed the two little wolf cubs.

No matter how you put it, the pups were quite cute and appealing.

The she-wolves didn’t dare to enter the farm, being wild wolves with their wildness intact.

Of course, with just those two, there was no need to worry about them hurting anyone.

The villagers here weren’t afraid of wolves, rather the wolves should be wary of people.

Xu Yang played with the wolf cubs by the side while the she-wolves watched from a distance, not making any reckless moves.

In their eyes, Xu Yang was the "king" here, supremely majestic.

Playing with wolf cubs was expected.

Xu Yang hadn’t thought much of it, only mentioning to the staff during lunch to keep an eye on Little Wolf and the she-wolves.

"What? Those two are wolves?"

Hearing Xu Yang’s words, Wang Wu was somewhat stunned.

He had also seen the little wolf cubs.

Thought they were native dogs and went to play with them.

Hadn’t expected them to actually be wolves.

"Yes, wolves, but touching them when they’re cubs is fine."

"But just don’t tease them in front of the she-wolves."

"The she-wolves may not approve."

Xu Yang said with a smile.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Now, with many people on the farm, the cafeteria was bustling.

Xu Yang also told everyone about going out tomorrow.

Everyone was used to it and didn’t think much of it.
