Monopolize My Mysterious Wife -
Chapter 981 - 981 967 Look Whos Here (2)
Chapter 981: 967, Look Who’s Here (2) Chapter 981: 967, Look Who’s Here (2) Recalling the events before, Shen Yan lowered his head, hands covering his face, and then said, “I was afraid my brother would do something reckless, so I’ve always been observing him secretly. But sometimes man’s calculations fall short of heaven’s, and I had a heart attack. After being resuscitated, I was in a coma for several days. When I woke up, I found out that my brother had schemed against Awei. He exploited Awei’s trust in him, attacked her at the end of a mission, and originally wanted to take her away to erase her memory. But he didn’t expect Awei to take the opportunity to escape. By the time I arrived, I witnessed Awei fall into the sea with my own eyes.”
If only he had woken up a little earlier, he might have been able to prevent it all.
He paused, and a smile with a hint of helplessness appeared on his lips, “But some people are destined to be together, no matter what happens. After all the twists and turns, they will still meet each other, just like Awei and your father.”
On the last line, he turned his gaze toward Jian Qing.
When Shen Hua first learned that Jian Wei and An Zhe had given birth to Jian Qing and her brother, he was furious, almost mad enough to go and fight An Zhe in a deadly conflict, but he was stopped by him.
An Zhe’s identity involved connections with China’s high-level officials, and messing with him would lead to endless trouble. The biggest reason he desperately protected An Zhe was Awei; his brother had caused her to fall into the sea, which was already an unforgivable wrong. The man she deeply loved, he had to protect for her, at least he could not let his brother harm him.
Jian Qing’s eyes dropped, reflecting the pale face of Jian Wei.
The phone buzzed, and Shen Yan took it out to see that it was from Shen Hua.
He stood up and walked to one side to answer the call, while Seventeen and Nineteen ran over, and Jian Qing extended her hand to embrace them.
“Mm, I know.”
After hanging up the phone, Shen Yan came back.
“Jian Qing, half an hour has passed.”
Jian Qing reluctantly let go of Jian Wei’s hand and covered her well with the blanket.
Leaving the small garden and on the way back, Jian Qing didn’t ask Shen Yan any more questions.
“Brother!”
Stepping into the living room and seeing the man sitting on the sofa, Shen Yan took a step forward, subconsciously protecting Jian Qing and her two children.
Shen Hua lifted his eyes to look and scoffed coldly, “Since when did Jian the household head also need to hide behind others for protection?”
Jian Qing walked out from behind Shen Yan, her cold eyes sweeping toward the man on the sofa, finally seeing Shen Hua’s true face.
He resembled Shen Yan somewhat.
“Shen Hua, you sure made us look for you.”
“Brother, there are some things I want to talk to you about,” Shen Yan interrupted, stepping between the two.
“Shen Hua, there’s something I’m quite curious about. You went to great lengths to capture me; surely it wasn’t just so I could meet my mother?” Jian Qing asked directly.
Shen Hua glanced at Shen Yan, curling his lips, “What, he didn’t tell you?”
Shen Yan’s face darkened, “Enough, brother.”
Jian Qing’s gaze moved between the two, finally settling on Shen Hua.
The next second, Shen Hua didn’t disappoint, giving a straight answer.
“Because of your heart.”
Shen Yan frowned and looked at Jian Qing quickly, explaining, “Jian Qing, don’t listen to my brother’s nonsense; I won’t do what he says.”
Jian Qing gazed at him, the fog in her heart slowly lifting.
So that’s how it is.
No wonder Shen Hua was so intent on capturing her; it was all for Shen Yan.
But how could Shen Hua be so sure that her heart was compatible with Shen Yan?
Shen Hua’s gaze intensified on Jian Qing, as if discerning her doubt, and he offered an explanation, “Jian Qing, if your heart wasn’t suitable for Ayan, and if Ayan hadn’t pleaded for you and your brother, do you think I would have let you both live until now?”
“How can you be so sure my heart is suitable for Shen Yan?” Jian Qing asked evenly, unfazed by someone coveting her heart.
“Blood relation.”
The two succinct words left Jian Qing somewhat baffled.
Could it simply be due to a familial relationship that Shen Hua had set his sights on her?
Shen Hua showed no intention of continuing the explanation, changing the topic, “Jian Qing, now that you know my purpose for bringing you here, you better prepare yourself.”
Jian Qing snorted.
Prepare herself to have her heart taken?
Ridiculously laughable.
Asking others to prepare for death—Shen Hua was simply brain-damaged, and it definitely wasn’t just one or two holes in his head.
While others had stars in their eyes, his head was full of pits.
Shen Yan furrowed his brows, “Brother, you go ahead.”
Shen Hua glanced at him, snorted coldly, and got up to leave.
As he reached the door, he caught sight of the two little treasures standing beside Jian Qing.
Nineteen caught his gaze unexpectedly and made a silly face at him, “Old witch.”
Shen Hua’s face turned extremely ugly, and he strode away.
Jian Qing laughed softly; it seemed Xiaojing had hit the nail on the head.
“Jian Qing, don’t take what my brother just said to heart.”
Shen Yan’s voice rose from behind her, and as Jian Qing turned to look at him, she raised an eyebrow, “With congenital heart disease and without a transplant, you probably won’t live much longer.”
Shen Yan smiled faintly, “Living this long is enough.”
Seventeen reached out her little hand and tugged at Shen Yan’s hand, “Good man, Uncle.”
“Seventeen, you can’t call him ‘Uncle,'” Jian Qing crouched down, pulled Seventeen closer, and said softly, “You should call him ‘Old Uncle.'”
Shen Yan’s pupils contracted sharply, and his face could hardly conceal the thrill of excitement.
“Jian Qing, you…”
Was she willing to acknowledge him now?
Jian Qing looked up at him and smiled, “You are my cousin, shouldn’t Seventeen and the rest call you ‘Old Uncle’?”
She knew he was different from Shen Hua, so she was willing to acknowledge him.
She thought that if her mother woke up, she would definitely hope for her to do the same.
Shen Yan said excitedly, “They should, they should.”
Caught off-guard by the sudden surprise, he was somewhat unprepared; his joy was even greater.
Jian Qing stroked the little heads of the two treasures, “Seventeen, Nineteen, say ‘Old Uncle.'”
“Old Uncle!” the two little treasures called out in unison.
Shen Yan’s lips almost stretched to the back of his head as he crouched down and hugged both little treasures tightly, “Good kids!”
Jian Qing stood up and met Shen Yan’s grateful gaze, her lips curling slightly.
Thanks to Shen Yan, Jian Qing had passed two peaceful days on the island.
The setting sun was sinking, and the waves were churning.
“Whoosh whoosh whoosh—”
The tide was coming in.
After Jian Qing helped the little treasures bathe, Shen Yan arrived.
Behind him were A’er and two men in black.
“May we come in?” Shen Yan asked.
Jian Qing nodded, stepped aside, and let them in.
“Old Uncle,” Seventeen saw Shen Yan and ran over excitedly.
One of the men in black frowned slightly upon seeing Seventeen being picked up by Shen Yan.
By chance, this small movement caught Jian Qing’s careful eye.
She scrutinized the man in black standing on the left, feeling an inexplicably familiar sense about him.
It was as if Xiaojing was right by her side…
Shen Yan put down Seventeen, “A’er, stand guard at the door.”
Watching Shen Yan’s secretive demeanor, Jian Qing grew curious.
Once the door closed, Shen Yan went to draw the curtains, then walked back.
“Jian Qing, guess who’s here.”
