Monopolize My Mysterious Wife
Chapter 979 - 979 965 Make a Decision (3)

Chapter 979: 965, Make a Decision (3) Chapter 979: 965, Make a Decision (3) Jian Qing hooked her lips slightly, her eyes tinged with a hint of a smile.

No matter whether she heard the news that her mother was alive from Shen Hua or Shen Yan, she always felt it was somewhat surreal. The only person who could be called Granny by Nineteen was her mother.

As long as she could bring Mom back, Bai Jue would definitely have a way.

That way, Dad wouldn’t have to be alone anymore, and Grandpa would surely be very happy.

In the study room, the atmosphere was tense and hostile.

“Brother, you clearly do not plan to return Awei to Jian Qing and the others, so why are you forcing her to come here? What exactly do you want to do?” Shen Yan asked coldly.

Shen Hua turned a deaf ear, signing documents swiftly, and said indifferently, “In the next few days, I will have Dr. Kesen help you recuperate your body and then prepare for the surgery as soon as possible.”

Shen Yan took a deep breath and said decisively, “I won’t have the surgery. Just give up on that idea.”

To exchange Jian Qing’s life for his own, he would absolutely refuse.

“Shen Yan, now is not the time for you to throw a child’s tantrum,” Shen Hua glanced at him with an authoritative look.

“I know my own body. I’ve already had one heart transplant; I do not need Jian Qing’s life in exchange for mine. Even without her heart, I will be fine,” Shen Yan retorted with just as much firmness.

Shen Hua, unable to restrain himself any longer, slammed the documents down, stood up abruptly, and said, “Shen Yan, can you not understand human speech? I am doing all this for your own good. Dr. Kesen said your condition has worsened. You do not have a say in this operation.”

Shen Yan met his gaze and said, “That was before. Dr. Kesen has now developed a new medication. As long as I take it on schedule, there won’t be any major problems.”

Shen Hua, losing patience, walked around the grand desk to confront him, “Shen Yan, get a grip. This is not the time to joke with your life. Even if you don’t undergo surgery, do you think I will let Jian Qing leave this place?”

Since he dared to let Jian Qing come here, naturally he would not let her leave. He wasn’t foolish enough to expose his stronghold to Jian Qing. Letting her go would be like releasing a tiger back into the mountains, a never-ending trouble.

“Brother, as I’ve said before, no matter what, I’m going to protect Jian Qing and the two little ones,” Shen Yan said, his voice ringing with determination as he held his brother’s gaze.

Shen Hua scoffed, “You should know what kind of place this is. Without my permission, for Jian Qing to reveal anything about this place is practically impossible. Shen Yan, you’d better not overestimate your abilities to help her. Otherwise, if we all end up destroyed together, I don’t think that’s what you’d want to see.”

Shen Yan fell silent, unable to reply. From the depths of his brother’s eyes, he clearly saw his ruthlessness, and he knew that if pushed too far, he really was capable of anything.

Including dragging everyone down to hell with him.

After a moment of silence, Shen Yan changed the subject, “Awei hasn’t woken up yet. I think Jian Qing’s arrival might stimulate her to wake up faster.”

Shen Hua returned to his grand desk, sat down, and began flipping through the documents, “Half an hour.”

Shen Yan didn’t expect him to agree so easily; he had thought it would take more persuasion, “I understand.”

After Shen Yan left the study room, Shen Hua put down the documents, his fingertips lightly tapping on the tabletop.

“Tap tap—”

“Ada, come in.”

Before his words faded, Ada pushed the door and entered.

“Activate all surveillance systems on the island, leaving no blind spots, and have someone keep a close eye on Jian Qing for me.”

“Yes,” Ada acknowledged the instructions and left.

After leaving Shen Hua’s study room, Shen Yan went straight to look for Dr. Kesen.

After dismissing the other doctors, only Dr. Kesen and Shen Yan were left in the room.

“Second Young Master, what brings you here so early? Are you feeling unwell again?” Dr. Kesen inquired.

Shen Yan shook his head, lowering his voice, “Dr. Kesen, I need a favor from you. In the next couple of days, if my brother seeks you out to inquire about my health, or asks when I can undergo surgery, you should respond as we discussed before and try to delay the surgery as much as possible.”

“But it won’t be easy to deceive the Eldest Young Master. If we delay the surgery too much, he won’t believe it. Furthermore, your condition will betray you,” Dr. Kesen voiced his concern.

Even if he could help him hide it now, the moment he fell ill, it would certainly be impossible to conceal any longer, and he wasn’t the only doctor on the island.

“I have my ways to handle it. For now, just do as I say, and when we can’t hide it anymore, I’ll have other methods,” Shen Yan promised.

Dr. Kesen, “I understand.”

“By the way, where is the medicine?” Shen Yan inquired about the most crucial item.

Dr. Kesen turned and walked to the medicine cabinet, pulled out a secret drawer, and took out a small brown bottle before folding back.

“This is it. But Second Young Master, have you really thought it through?” he asked, gripping the bottle tightly as he sought confirmation.

“Once you take this medicine, there’s no turning back. Even a great immortal won’t be able to save you then.”

Shen Yan offered a faint smile, “I thank you for your care all these years.”

Dr. Kesen sighed and extended his hand to hand over the medicine bottle.

Shen Yan looked at the medicine bottle in his hand, a decisive smile flickering in his eyes.

It was time, everything should end now.

“Second Young Master.”

Seeing Shen Yan return unharmed, A’er breathed a sigh of relief.

Hearing footsteps, Jian Qing lifted her eyes, and as Shen Yan looked over, their eyes met briefly before she indifferently shifted her gaze away.

“Good uncle,” Nineteen called out softly.

Shen Yan patted his little head, smiling faintly, “Did Nineteen have his fill?”

“Mhm,” Nineteen nodded.

Shen Yan shifted his gaze to Jian Qing, “Jian Qing, would you like to go see your mother?”

“What did you say?” Jian Qing’s voice was tinged with astonishment.

“I spoke with my brother; it’s half an hour,” Shen Yan explained.

Jian Qing immediately got up, “Let’s go.”

She had been waiting for this moment for far too long.

“Mommy.” Having not seen Jian Qing for a while, the two little treasures were especially clingy to her.

Shen Yan, watching the two little ones clinging to Jian Qing’s legs from either side, extended his arms to lift Nineteen, “Come on, Nineteen, let uncle hold you. We’ll go see Grandma together.”

Jian Qing picked up Seventeen and gave him an odd look upon hearing him refer to himself as uncle.

“Uncle?”

According to what her Grandpa had said, she ought to call him Cousin, which, by extension, meant the two little ones should be calling him Great Uncle. ‘Uncle’ seemed a bit off in terms of generational ranking, didn’t it?

Trying to act young?

Shen Yan gave an embarrassed smile.

The two little guys had started calling him that from the outset. Although he also knew the title was far from appropriate, he probably didn’t have the right to have the two little treasures call him Great Uncle either.

Uncle it is, then. At least for now, they didn’t dislike him.

“Don’t waste time, let’s go.”
