Chapter 976: 962, Your Happiness Can Only Be Me (3) Chapter 976: 962, Your Happiness Can Only Be Me (3) In the afternoon, the sunlight was brilliant.
The windows were open, and the sea breeze gently blew in.
In the study room, the tip of the pen scratched against the paper, making a “shush” sound.
After a while, Shen Hua put down his pen, picked up the teacup on the desk, lifted the lid, and took a light sip.
“Where did Ayan go?”
Next to him, Ada was organizing the documents he had signed, “The second young master took nineteen to the seaside to watch the pigeons.”
“He sure is at leisure,” Shen Hua said indifferently, his tone laced with a hint of mockery.
“Where’s the other little one?”
“The servant said he seems to have fallen asleep,” Ada, cradling the documents, replied.
“Alright, you can go down now.”
Ada left with the documents, and soon after, a small figure appeared at the door.
Shen Hua, hearing the noise, cast a cold glance and saw the little one standing at the door, his lips curving into a mocking smile.
He stood up, walked around the table toward him.
“Young master, you shouldn’t be here, come with me,” a servant found the boy, seventeen, standing at the door to Shen Hua’s study and quickly approached.
“Older master.”
“You leave first,” said Shen Hua impatiently.
The servant glanced at seventeen and then hurriedly ran off.
Seventeen looked up at Shen Hua, who had stopped in front of him, his clear black eyes fearlessly meeting his, without a trace of timidity.
It was the so-called innocence of the young being unafraid of tigers.
Shen Hua squatted down, “Little one, have you come to cause trouble again?”
Seventeen pursed his lips, “Nineteen.”
Understanding that the little one was here to look for his younger brother, Shen Hua’s lips quirked up, disregarding his struggles as he picked him up, “Little one, call me uncle, let me hear it.”
Why was it that Ayan was the good uncle, while he was made out to be the old witch?
“No,” Seventeen twisted his hand, resisting his embrace.
“Little one, are you hungry, hm?” Shen Hua’s tone softened a bit, but it’s a pity Seventeen wasn’t receptive at all.
“No.”
Shen Hua sat down on the sofa with him, picking up an orange and peeling it, “Come on, have some.”
Seventeen firmly shook his head, “Don’t want it.”
Just as he finished speaking, his little stomach betrayed him with a couple of “gurgle” sounds.
Shen Hua smiled faintly, “Stubborn little thing.”
He looked up at the servant by the door, “Go and get a bottle of milk.”
Seventeen used all his might to pry Shen Hua’s hands open, and Shen Hua, with no other choice, let him go. Seventeen watched him warily, running to the opposite side.
Shen Hua let out a cold snort, and abruptly, his brows furrowed, his complexion turning a shade paler.
Damn it, the old ailment was acting up again.
He bent down, one hand supporting himself on the desk, his face etched with pain.
Seventeen watched him steadily, then suddenly turned and ran off.
Shen Hua pulled open a drawer, took out a medicine bottle, poured out a few pills and stuffed them into his mouth, then grabbed a glass of water and gulped it down.
The stomach pain came suddenly, and despite taking the pills, the effect wasn’t immediate. Shen Hua clenched his fist, his forehead breaking out in a fine sweat.
Suddenly, a pair of delicate little shoes came into view.
He looked up to meet seventeen black gemstone-like eyes, then lowered his gaze and finally saw what the little guy was holding in his hand.
It was a bottle of oil for alleviating dizziness and abdominal pain.
“Rub it on, it won’t hurt.” Seventeen’s voice was soft and glutinous. In his memory, the old lady often used this kind of oil on the old master, and the little guy, having seen it often, had naturally remembered it.
Shen Hua’s gaze grew intense, and an indescribable complexity filled his heart.
From the corner of his eye, he glanced at the tea table not far away. The oil that had been placed upon it was now in Seventeen’s hand; the little guy must have thought he had a stomachache.
He reached out, took the little bottle from his hand, and put it aside, “Little guy, are you not afraid of me?”
Seventeen shook his head, and the corner of Shen Hua’s mouth curled up.
“Want to see your mommy?”
Seventeen’s eyes lit up, and he vigorously nodded his little head.
Shen Hua patted his little head thoughtfully, “You will see your mommy soon, I promise.”
When Shen Yan returned with Nineteen, he was taken aback upon seeing Seventeen sitting in Shen Hua’s study.
“Brother, why is Seventeen here with you?”
Nineteen, eying the table full of delicious food, scurried over and sat down next to Seventeen.
“What, afraid I’d mistreat him?” Shen Hua glanced at him and spoke lightly.
Shen Yan shrugged his shoulders, replying helplessly, “Brother, you know that’s not what I mean.”
“Alright, now that you’re here, take care of them. I’m going to the small garden,” said Shen Hua as he stood up.
“What happened, is something wrong with Awei?” When Shen Yan heard he was heading to the small garden, his first thought was that something had happened to Jian Wei.
“Nothing.”
Leaving behind those two words, Shen Hua strode out.
Shen Yan watched the two little treasures eating happily, shook his head, and chuckled softly.
When Shen Hua arrived at the small garden, Dr. Kesen just happened to be coming out of the room.
“Young Master.”
Shen Hua asked, “How is it?”
“Her condition has improved noticeably these past few days,” Dr. Kesen said. “If things continue this way, I believe Miss Jian will wake up soon.”
Upon hearing this, Shen Hua’s face showed excitement, “As long as you can wake her up, I won’t let your efforts go unrewarded.”
After saying this, he passed by him, pushed open the door, and entered the room.
The faint scent of roses filled the air, his favorite fragrance.
He sat down by the bedside and took the woman’s soft hand into his large one, “Weiwei, Dr. Kesen has said that you’ll be able to wake up before long. Do you know? This is the best news I’ve heard in many years.”
He paused, lifting her hand to his cheek, “Weiwei, once you wake up, I will make it up to you properly. I will make you happy. Your happiness can only come from me. That man named An Zhe is not worthy of you at all; he doesn’t deserve you.”
If it weren’t for Ayan, he would not have spared An Zhe’s life. Daring to touch the woman he loved, killing him a hundred times wouldn’t be too much.
“Weiwei, I’ve been the one by your side from a young age. If only you would turn around, you’d see that I’ve always been there. I’m the one who loves you the most. The accident from those years ago was my fault, I never expected that car crash would nearly kill you, I truly didn’t mean for it to happen, can you forgive me? Seventeen years is already the greatest punishment for me. You need to wake up sooner.”
His gaze tenderly on her, his voice warmer than ever, “Once you’ve recovered, we will have our own children, and we will be a happy family. You’ll be thrilled to wake up, so will Ayan.”
He chattered on, painting a beautiful future for him and her.
The afterglow was intoxicatingly beautiful, and the island was alight with brilliance.
Shen Hua released Jian Wei’s hand and properly tucked her in.
“Weiwei, I’ll come to keep you company again tomorrow,” he said.
The moment he closed the door, Jian Wei’s fingers trembled lightly.
But unfortunately, Shen Hua had already left, closing the door behind him.
M Country, Manor
“Sister, there are so many places with seas around the world; continuing to search this way isn’t going to work,” Jian Luo pinched the bridge of his nose, an air of fatigue between his eyebrows.
