Chapter 966: 952, Give us back our child (2) Chapter 966: 952, Give us back our child (2) “Seventeen, Nineteen, slow down a little.” Beneath the shade of the trees, Rhee watched the two little treasures with a gentle gaze and called out softly.

“These two little ones are much more mischievous and lively than Jingwu was when he was little,” Madam Quan laughed.

Thinking back to her son’s cold demeanor as a child, Rhee couldn’t help but complain, “Indeed, when Jingwu was little, he was like an old man, not fun at all.”

Madam Quan asked, “By the way, has Qingqing said when she’ll be back?”

“Mm, she just called me this morning, said she’ll be back tomorrow night,” Rhee replied. “Little Qingqing was blessed in disguise this time going to F Country. She regained her memory, that rascal Jingwu must be so happy he could soar to the skies.”

Madam Quan smiled faintly.

Not far away, Seventeen and Nineteen were playing with a ball, with Nineteen running ahead holding the ball and Seventeen chasing after him.

“Nineteen, the ball.”

Swathed in the heat of play, Nineteen’s little face flushed red, not noticing the small stone on the ground.

A stumble, hands loosened, and the ball he was holding rolled away.

“The ball.”

Watching the ball continue to roll, Seventeen and Nineteen hurriedly chased after it.

The blue ball rolled behind the Grass Cluster, and without thinking, Nineteen’s plump little body dove right into it.

“Nineteen, you can’t do that.”

Rhee saw Nineteen diving into the Grass Cluster and quickly ran over.

Behind the lush green Grass Cluster, Nineteen saw the ball not far away, his purple eyes curving into crescents as he trotted toward it.

Suddenly, a dark shadow flashed out from behind a large tree.

Nineteen couldn’t stop in time, ran into the man’s leg, and fell to the ground.

He looked up at the man with the mask, his purple eyes shining with curiosity.

The man gave a cold smile, extended a strong arm, and scooped Nineteen into his embrace.

“Ah…”

Nineteen panicked, a broken syllable barely escaping his lips before the man covered his mouth with a handkerchief, “Little guy, behave yourself.”

His hoarse voice carried an edge of ruthlessness.

Nineteen gradually stopped struggling, his eyelids heavily closing.

“You take care of the other one; I’ll take this little fellow to the car to wait for you,” the man in black instructed his companion, pulling open his coat to cover Nineteen.

“I understand.”

The other man hastily responded, and the man in black looked around before quickly leaving with Nineteen in his arms.

“Seventeen, you can’t crawl into the Grass Cluster.” Rhee caught up, swiftly grabbing Seventeen who was also about to crawl into the Grass Cluster.

Seventeen’s chubby little hand pointed toward the Grass Cluster and he said softly, “Grandma, Nineteen.”

“Grandma will go get Nineteen out; you wait here,” Rhee stroked his little head and spoke soothingly.

Then, she stepped forward and parted the Grass Cluster with her hands, only to find nobody behind it.

Stepping over the waist-high Grass Cluster was somewhat difficult, especially in high heels, but Rhee managed to keep from falling by holding onto the nearby tree.

On the bright green Grassland, the small ball they had brought from home lay there forlornly.

Rhee picked it up and looked around, puzzled. Where had Nineteen gone?

“Nineteen, stop playing hide-and-seek with grandma. Come out; the ball is here,” she called out loud, but no sight of Nineteen appeared for quite a while.

“Grandma…”

Seventeen’s voice was soft and laced with fear. Rhee quickly turned around, and the sight that met her eyes made her heart leap to her throat.

“Who are you, let go of my grandson right now!”

The person in black grabbed Seventeen, mimicked the earlier man by covering Seventeen’s mouth with a handkerchief, then turned to leave with Seventeen in his arms.

The Grass Cluster area was deserted, giving the man in black the opportunity to abduct Seventeen and Nineteen.

Seeing Seventeen’s eyes close and slump into the man’s embrace, Rhee’s eyes reddened with urgency. In her haste, she twisted her ankle.

“Seventeen, someone’s stealing a child!”

Rhee limped, chasing after the man in black and yelling loudly.

In an instant, the commotion drew the attention of the people around.

“Seventeen!”

Madam Quan, standing near the man in black’s car, saw him holding Seventeen and about to get into the vehicle; her calloused hands uncaringly blocked the car door.

“Give us back our child.”

“Die, you old hag, get out of the way.” The man grabbed Madam Quan’s hands and violently flung them aside.

“Ah––”

Madam Quan fell to the ground and, looking up to see the door about to close, quickly reached out to grab it.

“Mom, be careful.” Rhee rushed over, her face turning pale with fear as she saw the door about to close.

“Ah!”

Madam Quan’s hand was pinched by the car door, and a cold sweat broke out on her back in an instant.

“Get lost.”

The man bent down to pry Madam Quan’s hand away and then closed the car door.

“Stop, you can’t leave; give us back our children.” The car sped away, leaving only its fading silhouette to Rhee.

“Old lady, are you all right?” The people nearby helped Madam Quan up, asking with concern.

Hearing the noise behind her, Rhee turned and limped back to Madam Quan’s side, “Mom, are you all right?”

Madam Quan shook her head slightly, “Seventeen, nineteen, hurry up…”

Before she could finish, Madam Quan’s body went limp, and she fainted.

“Mom!”

Rhee supported her with one hand and reached for her cellphone with the other, dialing Mingxuan’s number directly, “Axuan, something’s gone wrong, Seventeen and Nineteen have been kidnapped, Grandma has fainted.”

On the other end of the call, Mingxuan’s hand holding his pen paused, the tip veered off, and the ink spread across the document, “Where are you?”

“Okay, I know, Auntie, you call an ambulance to take Grandma to the hospital first, I’ll go look for Seventeen and the others.”

After hanging up, Mingxuan shot to his feet, grabbed his car keys, and dashed out of the office.

On the road, Mingxuan thought of Jian Luo, who was still in Beijing, and quickly called him, but the phone rang for a long while with no answer.

Mingxuan tapped the steering wheel, a hint of urgency flaring up in his eyes.

What’s Jian Luo up to, why isn’t he answering the phone?

Right, Uncle An.

He hung up on Jian Luo’s call and dialed Mo Xiao’s number.

The call was quickly answered after only a couple of rings.

“Mingxuan, what made you think to call me?” There, Mo Xiao looked at the chessboard, placed a piece down leisurely, and said.

“Uncle An, something terrible has happened, Seventeen and Nineteen are in trouble,” Mingxuan said.

“What?”

Mo Xiao’s face darkened as he abruptly stood up, causing the chessboard to topple over, with the stone chess pieces clattering to the ground.

Old Master Jian looked at him, perplexed, with a twitching brow.

“Alright, I know, I’m on my way now.”

“What happened?” asked Old Master Jian.

Mo Xiao turned to him, his expression grave, “Dad, Seventeen and the others have been kidnapped.”

Upon hearing this, Old Master Jian felt a darkness sweep before his eyes.

Mo Xiao quickly supported him and took out some medicine from the cabinet, “Dad, don’t get worked up, take the medicine first.”
