Chapter 949: 935, don’t compare yourself with him (2) Chapter 949: 935, don’t compare yourself with him (2) After having lived at the old mansion for a few days, Jian Qing’s missing memories still showed no signs of improvement.
In the living room, Jian Qing was playing with the two little treasures and Snowball, not far away, Quan Jingwu stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, taking a phone call.
“I understand, destroy all our strongholds in Y Country,” came his cold voice, carrying a sense of decisive ruthlessness.
On the other end of the phone, Shen Hao had expected this outcome, “Yes, Boss, that Shen Yan is too cunning, our people lost him in M Country.”
They had intended to follow Shen Yan to track down the elusive Shen Hua, but they had still managed to lose him.
That Shen Yan, really was an old fox, a cunning one with many hideouts.
“Send people to search in M Country, but don’t startle the snake,” Quan Jingwu instructed coldly.
“Understood.”
After hanging up the phone, Quan Jingwu turned around, catching sight of the woman’s beautiful profile, her faint smile bewitching his eyes.
He put away his phone and slowly walked over to them.
Seeing him, Seventeen dropped the toy and hugged his thigh.
“Daddy!”
Quan Jingwu bent down to pick him up, lifting him high, “Want to go out?”
“Yes.”
Excited by the prospect of going out, the little guy’s eyes lit up when he looked at Quan Jingwu.
“Where to?” Jian Qing looked up at him and asked.
“Just for a stroll,” Quan Jingwu said, holding Seventeen with one hand and reaching out to her with the other.
Jian Qing looked at the man’s open hand, the corners of her lips gently lifting, placing her pale hand in his as Quan Jingwu chuckled and pulled her to her feet.
“Nineteen wants to come along too.” The little one clung to Jian Qing’s leg.
Jian Qing laughed softly, effortlessly picking him up.
“Let’s go!”
They greeted the old Mrs. Quan, and the family of four joyfully set out.
In the car, Quan Jingwu was responsible for driving.
In the back seat, the two treasures snuggled into her embrace, one on each side.
The family of four hadn’t been out together for a long time, and the little treasures were particularly excited, their eyes round with interest as they looked out of the window at the bustling world.
The smooth blue sky was like finely woven silk.
The park’s lush green grass felt soft and spongy underfoot.
Underneath big trees, many families were picnicking, while groups of children ran about merrily, sweating profusely under the hot sun but still playing joyfully.
Quan Jingwu parked the car and placed Seventeen and Nineteen on the grass.
“Go play.”
Seventeen and Nineteen looked towards Jian Qing, and seeing her nod, broke into smiles, their little feet scampering off swiftly.
“Seventeen, wait, Nineteen.”
Nineteen didn’t have as much stamina as Seventeen and was quickly left behind, which made him anxious.
Seventeen always doted on Nineteen, and upon hearing his call, he stopped, turned his head to wait for the latter to catch up, “Nineteen, hurry up.”
Jian Qing casually put one hand in her pocket, her gaze falling on the two treasures, her lips curving into a light smile.
Quan Jingwu took a hat out of the car and placed it directly on her head, “Are you thirsty?”
Jian Qing adjusted the hat with her hand, her clear eyes twinkling with a mischievous smile, “I want an iced coffee.”
After spending several days together, she could tell that the man in front of her was very controlling about her consumption of cold drinks and ice cream, which made her wonder if he also used to forbid her from eating ice in the past.
“Just this once,” Quan Jingwu agreed, breaking with precedent.
Jian Qing was startled for a moment, then quickly nodded, “Mhm mhm.”
“Wait here for me,” Quan Jingwu said, pressing down on her hat.
“Mhm.”
Jian Qing lifted her lowered hat and watched his retreating figure, the smile in her eyes growing even brighter, attracting many glances around her.
Under the shade of a tree not far away, Seventeen and Nineteen were playing hide-and-seek, their delicate little faces immediately drawing intense attention, especially from sister-fans and mom-fans.
Whose children are they, tempting them to have kids again, aren’t they?
“Seventeen, come here!”
Nineteen, while running, turned his head to look at Seventeen, not noticing the person coming towards him at all.
“Ah–”
Nineteen’s vision went black, and he tumbled to the ground.
“Nineteen!” Seventeen ran over, his little chubby hands wrapping around Nineteen, his obsidian-like eyes looking up at the person standing in front of them, the dark pupils filled with anger.
Chu Yihen looked down at the two children, meeting Seventeen’s eyes that were identical to Jian Qing’s, and his gaze paused slightly.
“Nineteen!”
Jian Qing ran over, squatted down, and helped Nineteen up, dusting off the grass from his pants.
“Are you alright?”
Nineteen brushed his hands and smiled with curved eyes, “I’m fine.”
“Jian Qing, I’m sorry.” Chu Yihen watched as the woman completely ignored him from beginning to end, a dark shade passing through his eyes.
Jian Qing didn’t pay him any attention, put down Nineteen, “Go play.”
Seventeen took Nineteen’s hand and they ran to play with the other children, Jian Qing stood up, looking towards the person across from her.
“Who are you?”
“Jian Qing, even if you dislike me so much, is there a need to pretend not to recognize me?” Chu Yihen mocked with a laugh.
Jian Qing gave him a sidelong glance, indifferently withdrew her gaze, and turned to leave.
Just managing to see her, Chu Yihen was not willing to let her go so quickly; he took a step forward, blocking her way, “Jian Qing, can’t we sit down and have a proper talk?”
Jian Qing crossed her arms, her eyebrows raised slightly, “I don’t know you, so there shouldn’t be any need to talk, should there?”
Meeting her cold eyes, Chu Yihen frowned, “You really don’t recognize me?”
Did something happen in the past few months when Jian Qing had disappeared?
“Move aside.” Jian Qing said coldly.
Although she had amnesia, by instinct, she felt no affection for the man in front of her.
“You, lost your memory?” Chu Yihen wasn’t foolish, seeing her unfamiliar gaze, he had a bold guess in his heart.
Jian Qing, “What’s it to you.”
Chu Yihen’s eyes shifted, “Jian Qing, have you truly forgotten our past?”
“Ha!”
Jian Qing curved her lips into a cold laugh, watching him leisurely, “Put away your probes. I don’t want to start a fight in front of my son. You had better vanish from my sight right now.”
Her uncompromising words darkened Chu Yihen’s handsome face.
He clenched his fist, his eyes shimmering with desolation, “Jian Qing, the past was my fault. Can’t you give me another chance? I’m not any worse than Quan Jingwu; whatever he can give you, I can too.”
Jian Qing’s gaze turned cold, sizing up Chu Yihen from head to toe.
Does this guy not understand human speech?
“Get lost.”
Having said that, she tried to walk past him.
“Jian Qing!” Chu Yihen reached out trying to grab her but caught only air.
Jian Qing looked at him, her eyes flashing with coldness, “Looking for trouble, are you?”
“Jian Qing, please give me another chance, can we start over?” After the conversation, Chu Yihen was even more certain that Jian Qing had lost her memory.
“Hmph!” Jian Qing narrowed her eyes and sneered mockingly, “Start over? Heh, do you think I’m that easily fooled? I believe my taste can’t be so poor as to fall for someone like you, and also, don’t compare yourself to Quan Jingwu.”
