Chapter 934: 920, should be considered lucky (1) Chapter 934: 920, should be considered lucky (1) “Sister?”

The tone was careful and somewhat incredulous.

Beside him, Black Jack and Bai Jue were shocked and looked at him in unison, or more accurately, at his phone.

Jian Qing had appeared?

Jian Qing hummed in affirmation, “It’s me.”

“Sister, where are you right now, where have you been after disappearing for so long?” Jian Luo asked with an excitement he tried to suppress.

Meeting Shen Yan’s gaze, Jian Qing’s cold eyes deepened, “I’ll call you back later.”

After speaking, she hung up the phone, lightly tapped her fingers on the screen, and in a flick, sent her location to Jian Luo,

“Thanks.”

She casually tossed the phone back to Shen Yan.

Shen Yan caught it, his gaze tight on her, “Jian Qing, do you really not recognize me?”

If she remembered Jian Luo, then she hadn’t lost her memory, so why was she pretending not to recognize him?

“Should I know you?” Jian Qing crossed her legs, leaned back, and said languidly, “Why don’t you continue answering my question instead.”

Shen Yan looked at her, puzzled, “What question?”

“What’s your name?” Jian Qing asked.

“Jian Qing, you remember Jian Luo, so why are you pretending not to know me?” Shen Yan asked bluntly.

“You know Luoluo, who exactly are you?” The tone of Jian Qing’s voice turned cold when she heard Jian Luo’s name from his lips.

Shen Yan turned to look at the doctors, his face darkening, “What’s going on with her?”

“Second Master, we, we also have no idea, this lady woke up and refused to let us examine her,” the doctor said with a tremble, meeting the sinister look in Shen Yan’s eyes.

“Second Master, this lady seems to have post-injury sequelae, having lost part of her memory. Her current memory should be from a certain stage in the past,” another doctor explained.

Upon hearing this, Jian Qing’s cold eyes narrowed.

She had lost part of her memory?

Shen Yan paused and then turned to look at her, his gaze full of complexity, “Jian Qing, do you really not remember me?”

Suppressing the doubts in her heart, Jian Qing replied, “I indeed don’t remember you. Maybe if you tell me your name directly, I might be able to recall something about you.”

Watching her remain as calm as ever, Shen Yan, unable to fathom her thoughts, still told her his name truthfully, “Shen Yan.”

“Shen, Yan!” Jian Qing muttered quietly, but still, no information about him surfaced in her mind.

“Jian Qing, I’m not a bad person, you…”

Jian Qing scoffed, cutting him off, “Would a bad person admit they are bad?”

Shen Yan responded helplessly, “Jian Qing, let the doctor examine you first. If I had any ill intentions towards you, I wouldn’t have saved you.”

“No need, I’m feeling fine right now,” she refused outright.

She had returned, and Bai Jue would naturally check on her; there was no need for others.

“Jian Qing, you’ve been unconscious for over three months, it’s better if you let the doctor examine you. If there’s nothing wrong, I can arrange for someone to take you back. You don’t have to keep your guard up against me,” Shen Yan said patiently, noticing her wariness towards him.

He certainly hadn’t expected that she would wake up from her fall with lost memories. Was this good or bad for her?

“Since you say you know me, then you must also know why I’ve been unconscious for over three months, right?” Jian Qing grasped the important part of his words and asked.

“I…” Shen Yan was at a loss for words.

How could he tell her that she jumped off the cliff because she was forced by his brother?

Watching Shen Yan’s hesitant expression, Jian Qing curled her lips into a cold smile, “Nevermind, I won’t make it hard for you. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”

With those words, she flicked her sleeve lightly, stood up, and prepared to leave.

“Jian Qing, wait, let me send someone to take you back,” Shen Yan offered.

“No need.”

Jian Qing walked to the door without looking back, while A’er blocked her path.

“Is there something you need?” Her eyelids lifted slightly, and she smiled with amusement.

“A’er, let her go.” Seeing that Jian Qing was determined to leave, Shen Yan spoke in a calm voice.

A’er glanced at Shen Yan and silently stepped aside.

Jian Qing looked back at the man on the sofa, her voice steady, “Thank you.”

No matter if his intentions were ill, the fact that he saved her stood.

Watching her figure disappear at the door, Shen Yan paused briefly, then the corners of his lips curled up with a barely-there smile.

“Second Young Master, aren’t you worried letting her go like that might cause other troubles?” A’er came over, voicing his concern.

Even if it was as the doctor had said, and Jian Qing had lost a part of her memory, there was no guarantee that she wouldn’t suddenly remember everything. If that happened and she sought retaliation, that would be troublesome.

“As long as she could wake up, nothing else mattered.” Shen Yan’s smile gradually faded. Even if trouble arose, he would accept it.

“Clean up this place. We should return to the island.”

Jian Qing still remembered Jian Luo, and she would surely return to the Jian Family. Sooner or later, she would have someone investigate this place. He had done what he should; it was no longer suitable to stay here.

“Yes.”

A’er nodded and led the doctors out.

“You all, follow me.”

Shen Yan’s gaze lowered as he fell into contemplation.

Compared to Awei, Jian Qing might be considered lucky.

At least she still remembered everything about herself, despite missing a part of her memory. In this way, she would not be at the mercy of others, still the decisive authority of the Jian Family.

If Awei had been like this from the beginning, perhaps the subsequent events would have never happened.

Receiving Jian Qing’s phone call, Jian Luo and the others were surprised and overwhelmed, the joy nearly bursting forth from their hearts.

On the plane, Jian Luo clutched the phone, joy tinging his eyes and brows.

“It’s great. My sister is finally coming back.”

Seeing his long-lost smile, Black Jack’s lips curled up slightly.

“Right, I almost forgot to inform Quan Jingwu.” Jian Luo slapped his forehead, belatedly realizing.

“Don’t tell him for now,” Bai Jue interrupted.

Jian Luo’s finger paused above the number, “Why?”

“Let’s meet Jian Qing first before informing him, to prevent him from getting his hopes up for nothing,” Bai Jue explained.

“But my sister has already called me, and she even sent me the address. How could it be fake?” He was certain the person he spoke to on the phone was his sister.

Black Jack joined the conversation, pointing out something Jian Luo had overlooked, “Luo, don’t you find it strange that the first person your sister called was you, not Quan Jingwu?”

By convention, if Jian Qing were safe, the first person she would undoubtedly notify would be Quan Jingwu, yet she chose to call Jian Luo instead.

Hearing this, Jian Luo paused and put away his phone.

“Could it be that my sister already called Quan Jingwu, then called me afterward?” Jian Luo became perplexed after Black Jack’s comment.

“Don’t rush, let me call Mingxuan and test the waters first.” Bai Jue took out his phone and sent a message to Quan Mingxuan.

Jian Luo and Black Jack exchanged glances, waiting in silence.

It wasn’t long before the phone vibrated.

It was a message from Quan Mingxuan.
