Monopolize My Mysterious Wife -
Chapter 837 - 837 823 Century Wedding (5)
Chapter 837: 823, Century Wedding (5) Chapter 837: 823, Century Wedding (5) The bright red carpet stretched from outside the wedding venue all the way to the altar where the priest stood, Quan Jingwu stepped onto the carpet at a measured pace, his tall and slender figure standing erect under the sunlight, his iris-hued eyes sparkling brilliantly.
Seventeen and Nineteen saw their daddy, and their little arms and legs moved vigorously, trying with all their might to reach him for a hug.
Suddenly, a soothing melody started playing, and everyone turned their heads to look back. When they saw the woman in a pure white wedding dress, everyone’s eyes shone with an uncontrollable admiration.
Jian Qing, arm in arm with Mo Xiao, walked slowly towards the groom who was waiting for her, under the astonished and congratulatory gazes of everyone.
“I’m entrusting my most precious daughter to you, Quan Jingwu. You must protect her well, cherish her, and spoil her. If you dare to mistreat her, I won’t let you get away with it,” Mo Xiao warned fiercely.
“She is my everything,” Quan Jingwu smiled, a hint of firmness flashed in his purple eyes. Then, he reached out from Mo Xiao’s hand to take Jian Qing’s hand, his long, jade-like hand tightly enveloping hers as they turned together to face the priest.
Mo Xiao looked at the couple with satisfaction and smiled, then silently walked back to sit beside Jian Luo.
From the seats below, Chu Yihen watched the couple standing on the stage, his gaze fixed on the woman, the white wedding dress piercing his heart.
Did they really have no fate with each other at all?
Was the order of arrival so important in love?
The woman he loved had become someone else’s bride, huh, Chu Yihen, it seems you’re truly destined to be abandoned by fate.
The priest’s face was lit with a benevolent smile as he recited the vows, neither hurried nor delayed but ended the proclamation in just a few short sentences.
“Now, I ask the bride and groom to exchange rings.”
Before the words were even finished, Zhan Mingyan and Han Yue, acting as bridesmaid and groomsman, came forward with the rings, the petite brocade box securely holding the wedding bands they had taken off the night before. Jian Qing took the ring and smilingly placed it on Quan Jingwu’s finger.
Quan Jingwu chuckled softly, his gaze fixed on her actions, and felt an overwhelming sense of emotion well up inside him.
From the time they met to when they fell in love, they had finally held their wedding, and now they also had a baby of their own; his life was complete because of her.
Quan Jingwu took the ring and placed it on Jian Qing’s finger, and the next second, cheers and whistles erupted from below.
“Kiss, give us a kiss…”
The crowd was clapping and egging them on, as if caught up in the excitement. Seventeen and Nineteen were also laughing joyfully, waving their little fists.
Quan Jingwu smiled wickedly, his strong arm hooked around her waist, and he kissed her lips right in front of everyone. Jian Qing’s eyes curved into a smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck; the two shared a sweet kiss.
“Bang bang bang—”
The cannons, prepared in advance, were ignited at the same time, erupting with a thunderous roar as colorful petals sprayed from their mouths, and almost simultaneously, several helicopters circled overhead, dropping showers of candy and petals with the wind.
“Wow, it’s so beautiful!”
“When can I have such a grand wedding too?”
A series of exclamations came from the guest seats; the young ladies and heiresses reached for the candies and petals with envious faces.
Such a wedding of the century is something every woman dreams of and can’t resist.
Jian Qing leaned into Quan Jingwu’s embrace, looking up at the sky filled with petals, her delicate brows and eyes brimming with the light of happiness.
“Husband, I love you!”
The weather was perfect, and so she indulged in being a bit cheesy.
Quan Jingwu chuckled as he gazed at her, rubbing her nose gently, “Silly!”
“Come on, let me take a picture for you.”
Xiya held up her camera and called out.
Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu retrieved their two little treasures from the arms of the elders. Jian Luo and the others gathered around Quan Jingwu’s family of four for a group family photo.
“Come on, let’s have one last shot just of your family of four,” Xiya said.
After Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing had finished taking photos with their two little ones, the family of four left the wedding scene to go back to their room to change and to fill the little ones’ tummies.
After changing out of her wedding gown and removing her makeup, Jian Qing felt much more relaxed. Dressed in casual home clothes, she played with the two little ones on the bed.
At that moment, Rhee walked in with a tray.
“Seventeen, nineteen, Fanfan is here.”
Jian Qing reached out to take it, “Mom, Xiaojing and I can feed them. You go ahead with your work.”
“No trouble, I’ll help you feed the kids and then I’ll go. Where’s Jingwu?” Rhee said, picking up another small bowl.
“He just finished bathing Seventeen. He’s in there changing,” Jian Qing said, picking up Nineteen into her arms.
Now six months old, Rhee and old Mrs. Quan prepared a variety of complementary foods for the two little ones every day. The babies were easy to feed—they were well-behaved and allowed themselves to be fed without any fuss.
“Jingwu, where are you? We’re all waiting for you,” Quan Mingxuan and Han Yue came in looking for someone, and just then, Quan Jingwu came out after changing.
Seeing Han Yue and others, Quan Jingwu had a feeling that this was not going to be anything good.
“Jingwu, hurry up, Black Jack and the others are waiting for you to drink,” Quan Mingxuan and Han Yue said, flanking Quan Jingwu on both sides, determined to take him away.
“Jian Qing, we’re just borrowing your husband for a bit, we’ll return him to you later,” they said.
Jian Qing laughed lightly and joked, “If he gets drunk, don’t bother sending him back.”
“Roger that,” Quan Mingxuan said with a laugh.
The two of them led Quan Jingwu away. Jian Qing wasn’t very interested in the evening banquet. After all, she had gotten up too early that day and had been busy all day, she was truly exhausted.
After Rhee left, she had dinner, played with the two little ones for a while, and then fell asleep with them in her arms.
At night, the stars shone brightly, and the sea breeze felt cool on the skin.
At the banquet, people chatted with each other, occasionally mentioning their careers. In such a setting, most came with the intention of maximizing their benefits.
However, Jian Luo’s group clearly did not share the same thoughts as the other guests. Their greatest wish that evening was to get Quan Jingwu drunk.
The main drinking force included Han Yue, Quan Mingxuan, Black Jack, Khan, and Bai Jue. The five joined forces to compete with Quan Jingwu in drinking, while Jian Luo was responsible for bringing more wine.
But, it wasn’t Quan Jingwu who was getting drunk; Quan Mingxuan was the one starting to feel tipsy.
“Drink, keep drinking,” he said, holding a bottle, his eyes beginning to blur.
Quan Jingwu glanced at him, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly.
Thinking they could get him drunk? No chance.
If you wonder why the other guests weren’t coming up to toast Quan Jingwu, it was thanks to the strategy team’s excellent work. Knowing there would be a toasting session, Quan Jingwu had given the strategists a few days off specifically so they could attend the wedding, but most importantly, to help block drinks.
After all, being an assistant means being ready to block drinks as one of the essential functions.
