Chapter 827 - 827 813 who gave you these black eyes (2)
Chapter 827: 813, who gave you these black eyes (2) Chapter 827: 813, who gave you these black eyes (2) Zhao Xuan’s gaze paused for a moment, and she scoffed, “Where would I get that ability? Besides, if I got you out of here, Jian Qing would trouble me just the same.”
Once she got her out, it was certain that Jian Qing would quickly catch wind of it, and then she would be the one in trouble.
Hearing that she was unwilling to help, An Man’s face changed immediately, and she threatened, “This is my only condition. If you don’t help me, then I’ll go make a deal with Jian Qing. Maybe you’ll be the one who ends up here, and I can get out instead.”
Zhao Xuan looked at her, her eyes deep, “Fine, I agree to help you as much as I can, but you have to give me time. Don’t forget we are in the same boat now.”
She was using the events of the past to threaten her, while she had Xiang Cheng as her ace up the sleeve. Neither of them would get the better of this situation.
An Man nodded, “I know, but don’t try to fool me into waiting too long. After all, I’ve already stayed in this place long enough, and my patience is running thin.”
Zhao Xuan looked at her coldly, “I’m going back now. You’d better watch your own mouth, or else I might not help you with Xiang Cheng anymore.”
Seeing An Man’s change in expression, Zhao Xuan snorted coldly and turned to leave.
An Man clenched her fists, a sinister darkness flashing in her eyes.
Zhao, Xuan!
After coming out of the Police Station, Zhao Xuan went straight back to the An Family mansion. She briefly greeted Zhou Qi in a hurry and then hurried upstairs to her room.
When she pushed open the door and stepped in, she looked up to see the man sitting on the sofa. Her eyes flickered and she closed the door behind her, walking over.
“Achong, you came back from your business trip and didn’t even say a word. I would have asked the kitchen to prepare some nourishing food for you,” she said as she sat down next to him, her voice tender.
An Chong opened his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, “No need. I just came back to get some things, I’ll be leaving soon. I have some matters to handle in S City.”
At his words, Zhao Xuan’s face stiffened, and she said awkwardly, “I see. Do you need me to pack some things for you?”
“No need, I’ve packed already,” An Chong replied coldly, his tone icy. They were husband and wife, but their relationship was as distant as strangers.
Zhao Xuan caught a glimpse of the suitcase by the bed and felt a heavy discomfort in her heart.
“How long will you be gone?”
“A week.”
Zhao Xuan lowered her head, biting her lip tightly.
“I have to go now. Take good care of the house,” An Chong said, perhaps unable to bear the awkward silence anymore as he stood up to leave.
Zhao Xuan held back her sorrow and nodded, “I know.”
An Chong pulled his suitcase and walked out the door.
“Bang––”
The moment the door closed, Zhao Xuan grabbed a nearby purse and threw it fiercely.
Thump.
Why did everyone have to treat her like this?
Her husband, of all people, was as cold as a stranger to her.
She punched the sofa, and her eyes, red with anger, stared at the wedding photo on the table. Why couldn’t he treat her as he did before, why…
Shijin Haoting
“Black Jack!” Jian Luo called out as he descended the stairs.
“Stop yelling, he’s gone out,” replied Bai Jue, lying on the sofa with his eyes closed.
Jian Luo walked over and sat opposite him, “Did you actually sleep here last night? Why not go upstairs?”
Sitting up, Bai Jue looked at the dark shadows under Jian Luo’s eyelids, which startled Jian Luo before he burst into laughter.
“Hahaha.”
“Bai Jue, who gave you those panda eyes?”
Bai Jue shot him a cold look, “Piss off.”
Jian Luo blatantly ignored his glare, laughing even harder, “Don’t tell me you really got dumped. I forgot to ask you, where did that rose in your car come from?”
There were ninety-nine more, a full load of illicit affection.
“What’s wrong with the roses I bought?” Bai Jue poured a glass of water and spoke while drinking.
Jian Luo teased, “What’s the point of buying roses when, as far as I know, ninety-nine red roses are generally used to woo women?”
Bai Jue put down the glass and huffed lightly, “So giving them to a man is not okay?”
“A man?”
Jian Luo clicked his tongue, “It wouldn’t happen to be Han Yue, would it?”
He remembered that he had been hanging out with Han Yue a lot recently; they couldn’t have taken a liking to each other, could they?
Hearing this, Bai Jue was amused.
He looked around, grabbed a pillow, and threw it at him, “Jian Luo, did you not wake up properly today? Can’t you include a bit of intelligence in your speech?”
As if there could be anything going on between him and Han Yue, what an idiot.
Jian Luo dodged, and the pillow brushed past his arm to land on the couch. He crossed his arms and leaned back, “Bai Jue, you’re definitely turning anger into embarrassment. Otherwise, explain where those roses in your car came from. If I hadn’t found them, they would have almost rotted in there.”
“Can’t I just buy them on a whim?” Bai Jue said irritably.
“First it’s roses, now dark circles; no matter how I look at it, you seem like a man who’s been dumped by a woman,” Jian Luo said, stroking his chin in analysis.
Damn it.
There was no point in having this conversation anymore.
Bai Jue glared at him, “I’m going back to M Country; do you want to come along?”
“Going back to M Country?” Jian Luo was surprised, “Why are you heading back so soon?”
“Yeah, I have a project to deal with in my research room; it’ll probably take a lot of time, and I won’t likely come to Beijing for a while,” Bai Jue explained.
Jian Luo’s eyes glinted with interest as he looked at him, “You’re not going back to nurse a broken heart alone, are you?”
“…”
Bai Jue’s mouth twitched.
Why did the conversation keep coming back to him getting dumped by a woman? Was Jian Luo really that eager to see him dumped? This heartless guy.
“I really don’t understand why Black Jack would fall for you.”
Jian Luo raised his eyebrows playfully, “You think he should fall for you?”
“Exactly,” Bai Jue lifted his chin pridefully, “After all, I’m so much more handsome than you, it’s only natural for anyone to fall for me.”
“Ugh…” Jian Luo made a vomiting gesture, a look of disgust on his face.
“You can roll out now.”
“Aren’t you going back?” Bai Jue asked.
Jian Luo shook his head, “I have to look after my little nephew at home; I’ll just go back with Grandpa and the others later.”
Bai Jue stretched lazily, “Alright then, I’ll be heading out.”
Jian Luo, “Are you leaving for M Country now?”
“Yeah.” Bai Jue smiled roguishly, “Going to miss me that much?”
“Get lost, the door is right there,”
Bai Jue picked up his car keys, “I’m off, see you in M Country.”
“Wait, I’ll leave with you. Drop me off at the Quan family mansion on the way,” Jian Luo stood up, catching up to him, and walked side by side with him.
“How should we settle the car fare?” Bai Jue asked teasingly.
Jian Luo replied promptly, “On you.”
“…”
Well, he couldn’t fault that response.
