Chapter 805: Eating soft rice means (1) Chapter 805: Eating soft rice means (1) CEO’s Office

Shen Hao and the others were sitting around the sofa, reporting to Quan Jingwu about the company’s affairs during the past month.

Although Quan Jingwu had not been to the company for over a month, with Shen Hao and others around, there hadn’t been any major issues. When he was in a coma, Shen Hao had taken some important documents to Shijin Haoting for Jian Qing to handle, waiting for her to make decisions before bringing them back to the company.

Quan Jingwu listened to their reports, only occasionally chiming in. However, whenever he did speak, his comments were incisive, his piercing and unique insights reassuring Shen Hao and the others of his recent awakening.

Jian Qing lounged next to him, exchanging messages with Xiya, mostly about precautions to take before production.

By the time the reporting was done, an hour had passed, and the individuals left with their documents in succession.

Quan Jingwu casually discarded the files and reached out to pull the person beside him into his embrace. Jian Qing sat on his lap and nestled comfortably against him.

“Are you hungry?”

Jian Qing looked up at him. “Do you think I’m a pig?”

“Mm, my little pig that I’ve raised,” he said with a light chuckle.

“Xiaojing, why did you transfer all your assets to my name?” Jian Qing suddenly remembered this matter and asked.

Quan Jingwu responded with a faint smile, his warm fingertips gently pinching her cheek. “Everything I am is yours, so naturally, those things are yours too.”

Compared to her, those things were not even worth mentioning.

Jian Qing’s eyes twinkled playfully. “In that case, are you going to work for me, hmm?”

“Hmm, work for just one person,” he replied, moving in closer, their cheeks touching.

“So, will you let me keep you?”

Jian Qing couldn’t help laughing. “Are you suggesting you want to be a kept man?”

“Hmm, will you?”

“I’ll think about it.” Jian Qing pretended to size him up, barely able to hold back the laughter in her eyes. “What’s in it for me to keep you?”

Quan Jingwu’s gaze deepened, his magnetic voice tinged with a hint of mirth. “I’ll help you warm the bed. Is that benefit enough?”

Jian Qing touched her chin, feigning contemplation before chuckling lightly. “Just barely.”

“You little rascal!”

His low voice was accompanied by a tender kiss.

Just as he was about to seek more, his phone suddenly rang.

Seeing his vexation, Jian Qing smiled subtly, picked up the phone, and saw it was a call from her own grandpa.

She pressed the answer button, and Grandpa’s robust voice came through.

“Little Qingqing!”

“Grandpa, are you over your cold?” Jian Qing asked with a soft voice.

On the other end of the phone, Grandpa, holding his mobile, sat with Mo Xiao leaning close to listen to Jian Qing’s words.

“It’s gone, nothing serious. How is that boy Jingwu doing?”

The question from Grandpa was precisely what Mo Xiao wanted to know. Although he frequently found Quan Jingwu extremely annoying, he didn’t want his precious daughter to be upset and naturally hoped that Jingwu was safe and sound.

However, they hadn’t expected that just two days after their return to M Country, that brat had woken up. Nonetheless, his awakening was ultimately great news.

“He’s fine now, I’ll let him talk to you,” she said, and handed the phone to Quan Jingwu before sliding off his lap, picking up the chocolate she brought in the morning, and starting to eat it.

Quan Jingwu took the phone and called out softly, “Grandpa!”

Hearing Quan Jingwu’s voice, Grandpa felt reassured. “You scoundrel finally woke up! I was thinking if you didn’t wake soon, I might have to take Little Qingqing back home.”

“Sorry for worrying you,” Quan Jingwu replied, his gaze fixed on the person across from him eating chocolate, his tone even.

Grandpa Jian chuckled and looked at Mo Xiao beside him, thrusting the phone into his hands. Mo Xiao took the phone, gruffly saying, “You little brat, who’s worried about you? Stop flattering yourself.”

Having not heard his father-in-law’s voice for a long time, Quan Jingwu’s lips curled up in a faint smile, “Dad, thank you for taking care of Little Qingqing for me during this time.”

It was rare to hear Quan Jingwu speak so sentimentally, which made Mo Xiao pause, a hint of embarrassment flashing in his eyes. “Well, the signal isn’t great here, we’ll talk later when I have time, bye.”

Jian Qing leaned over just in time to hear her father’s words and burst into laughter.

How could her dad be so adorable!

Quan Jingwu smiled, slipping the phone into his pocket, then took her hand, “Let’s go, back to the mansion. Mom said she’s prepared some delicious food for you today.”

The couple had just stepped out when they encountered Quan Yifei.

“Sister-in-law, are you leaving already?” Quan Yifei asked, looking at their held hands.

Jian Qing nodded, “Going back to the mansion.”

“I thought you and brother would stay until noon, so I bought you some snacks.” Quan Yifei handed her a bag, “Have it in the car to satisfy your cravings.”

Jian Qing received it with a beaming smile, “We’ll wait for you at the mansion.”

“Then I might not make it since I have to work overtime today,” Quan Yifei pouted, a touch helplessly.

“I’m rooting for you.” Jian Qing patted her shoulder, laughing mischievously.

Quan Yifei’s shoulders slumped, “…”

As soon as Quan Jingwu and his wife left, Quan Yifei hurried back to her office to catch up on her case work, otherwise she feared she’d be stuck working overtime for several days.

Meanwhile

“CEO, would you like to return to the office or go directly to meet Mr. Smith?” Chu Yihen’s assistant took his suitcase, asking.

“Back to the office first.” Chu Yihen, noticing the glances around him, frowned slightly and quickened his pace.

The assistant followed closely, “CEO, there’s one more thing.”

“What is it?”

“Quan Jingwu is back.”

Chu Yihen stopped in his tracks and turned back to look at him, “What did you say?”

The assistant flustered under his imposing gaze and quickly added, “Quan Jingwu is back. This morning, many people saw him at JK International.”

“Are you sure?” Chu Yihen’s voice took on a sudden edge.

Pulling out his phone, the assistant showed him a photo, “Now the whole of Beijing knows Quan Jingwu is back.”

Chu Yihen looked at his phone, where the photo clearly showed Quan Jingwu helping Jian Qing enter JK International’s entrance.

His eyes glinted icily as he stared at the photo.

Quan Jingwu, you really do have nine lives.

After a moment, he withdrew his gaze and spun around to leave.

Sensing the cold aura emanating from him, the assistant didn’t dare get too close and maintained a distance as he followed.

At the Quan Family’s old mansion

Upon Jian Qing’s return, Rhee quickly made many kinds of dim sum, and Grandma Quan also stewed nourishing dishes for both her and Quan Jingwu.

Sitting in the living room, Quan Mingxuan looked at the couple across from him, drinking their tonics and clicked his tongue, “Grandma, you’re too biased, how come I don’t have any tonic to drink?”

Grandma Quan glanced at him and spoke irritably, “You little rascal, every time I make these for you, you act like you’ve seen a ghost. You’re just asking for a beating, aren’t you.”
