Chapter 799 - 799 785 King Jingba Awakens (3)_1
Chapter 799: 785, King Jingba Awakens (3)_1 Chapter 799: 785, King Jingba Awakens (3)_1 Time passed in silence, and before they knew it, Quan Jingwu had been in a coma for a month.
Throughout this month, Jian Qing became increasingly silent. Jian Luo and the others were both anxious and helpless; their only recourse was to pray for Quan Jingwu to wake up soon.
The arrival of summer made Beijing somewhat stifling, as if the air itself had congealed, making it difficult to breathe.
A cool breeze blew, causing the wind chimes hanging in the air to tinkle.
Pushing open the glass doors, the mingled scent of various flowers filled the air.
Upon seeing Jian Qing, the staff in the flower shop greeted her with smiles. They had also gradually become accustomed to the sight of Snowball by her side.
Initially, when they saw Jian Qing bringing Snowball into the flower shop, the staff were quite startled.
Since Jian Qing started coming to the flower shop every day to buy flowers, Jian Luo, in order to avoid other customers inadvertently bumping into her, had bought the entire flower shop.
The moment Jian Qing enters the shop, the staff would temporarily hang a “closed” sign. Today was no different.
“Mrs. Quan, the Louis XIV roses just arrived, they have not yet been trimmed or packaged,” said a young girl.
Jian Qing nodded, “I’ll do it myself.”
Everyone in the shop knew of Jian Qing’s preference, so they moved aside without disturbing her. A few young girls stood together, silently watching Jian Qing select and trim the flowers.
“What to do? I think I’m falling for Mrs. Quan, what should I do?” muttered a girl with two braids, her hands supporting her cheeks.
She’s so cool and sophisticated, isn’t she?
An older woman lightly tapped her head and laughed, “Keep admiring her. It’s not your fault you’re not a man.”
But even if she were a man, there would be no chance.
The girls laughed together, occasionally bringing little snacks for Snowball.
Shijin Haoting
In the bright bedroom, the roses in the vase gradually withered, with a few dried petals scattered around the vase.
The breeze blew through the gauze curtains, and warm sunlight filtered through the windows, casting dappled light upon the comatose man on the bed.
Out of nowhere, a barely audible moan abruptly echoed.
The man’s long eyelashes trembled slightly. The next moment, he slowly opened his eyes. His purple eyes resembled a galaxy filled with stars, dazzlingly beautiful and mesmerizing.
The memories from before the coma gradually returned to his mind. The look of confusion in his eyes was instantly replaced by clarity. He raised his hand to rub his forehead and sat up.
He glanced around the bedroom, but did not find the person he longed to see. His gaze rested on the bouquet of roses.
A charming smile flitted across his face.
“Quan Jingwu, you…you’re awake?”
From the doorway, a surprised voice belonging to Bai Jue sounded out.
Looking at the man sitting on the bed, he quickly walked toward him, unable to conceal the shock and joy on his face.
“When did you wake up?”
Had their prayers finally been heard by the heavens, leading to his awakening?
Quan Jingwu looked at him, his cold eyebrows slightly furrowed, “I just woke up. How long was I unconscious for?”
“A little over a month,” Bai Jue replied while checking him over. “You have no idea. You scared us to death by falling unconscious for so long.”
A little over a month?
Quan Jingwu furrowed his brows even more. He had been asleep for so long.
Seeing his furrowed brows, Bai Jue thought he was unwell. Recalling something, he eyed him quizzically.
“Quan Jingwu, do you remember who I am?”
Hitting one’s head could result in unpredictable side effects, such as selective amnesia.
Quan Jingwu looked at him disdainfully, “Bai Jue, are you out of your mind?”
Bai Jue, “…”
He was the one suspecting him of being crazy.
“Where’s my darling?” asked Quan Jingwu.
Hearing him still remembering Jian Qing, Bai Jue finally felt reassured.
“She went to buy flowers. Look, those — she buys those herself every day,” Bai Jue pointed to the vase on the table.
Upon hearing that, Quan Jingwu’s expression softened.
“Since you’re awake, I should quickly call her. When she hears, she’ll definitely rush back right away,” Bai Jue said, picking up the phone to make a call.
“Wait.” Quan Jingwu stopped him, his gaze still lingering on the bouquet of roses. “Don’t tell her yet. I’ll go find her myself.”
He had been asleep for so long, his beloved must be tired. He owed her countless apologies. She was heavily pregnant and if something were to happen to her in the hurry to get back, he would never forgive himself.
Bai Jue nodded with a smile and put away the phone.
“Let me prepare something first. I should check you first.”
“No need, we can do that when I get back,” he said, lifting the cover and stepping out of bed, his legs slightly weak from not moving for such a long time.
Gathering his strength for a moment, he began walking towards the bathroom.
Bai Jue crossed his arms and gave a relieved smile.
Finally freed.
After Quan Jingwu finished washing up and got dressed, he went downstairs.
Under the light, he was still dressed in his usual black on black outfit. His face was irresistibly charming and his demeanor was cold and brilliant. His frosty, purple eyes were even more imposingly awe-inspiring, making people dare not approach him casually.
Seeing how energetic he seemed, with his steady stride unlike someone who had just woken up from a coma, Bai Jue couldn’t help but click his tongue.
Quan Jingwu’s recovery abilities were just too remarkable.
Could this be the power of love? Thinking about that made him shiver a little.
“Do you want to drive yourself? Or do you want me to drive you?” Bai Jue asked, unable to hide his concern.
“No need,” was all Quan Jingwu said as he picked up the car keys and walked out the door.
The sun was scorching, the black sports car drove out of Shijin Haoting. The high-speed drive quickly turned the car into a small black dot disappearing in the distance.
Bai Jue looked at the surveillance footage of the disappearing car and chuckled.
Love truly could make a person insane.
He took out his phone and began calling everyone to inform them.
After a long wait, clear skies were finally in sight. It was time for everyone to celebrate.
On the way, Quan Jingwu kept stepping on the gas. When he passed the cafe across the street from his company, he even went in to buy Jian Qing’s favorite cake.
“Squeak—”
The sports car came to a halt. Quan Jingwu picked up the cake and stepped out of the car. Looking at the flower shop that Bai Jue had mentioned, a faint smile crossed his face.
He ascended the stairs, completely ignoring the “closed” sign, and walked in.
“I’m sorry, we are currently…”
Before the clerk could finish speaking, they saw the man who had entered, and their words ended abruptly.
Was this…?
Was this Mrs. Quan’s husband?
The store manager had already received a call from Jian Luo. He nodded knowingly, took the clerk by the arm, and led them aside.
As the saying goes, it is impolite to be a third wheel.
“Manager, what is…?” The young clerks looked confused.
The store manager shook his head at them, put his finger to his lips and made a ‘shush’ gesture, signaling for them to be quiet.
