Chapter 759: 745, It’s Time for You to Act (4)_1 Chapter 759: 745, It’s Time for You to Act (4)_1 Quan Jingwu lowered his head, gently nibbling on her lips and rasping, “Is this how you perceive me deep down, huh?”

About to nod, Jian Qing lifted her head and noticed his squinting violet eyes, then hurriedly shook her head, “Absolutely not, you are the best in my heart.”

“Drink your milk before it gets cold.” Satisfied, Quan Jingwu picked up the glass of milk and held it to her mouth.

As Jian Qing drank her milk and watched him simultaneously, Quan Jingwu, looking down at her sparkling eyes, let out a deep laugh.

“Why are you staring at me?”

“You’re good-looking.” Finishing her milk, she replied with a playful smile.

Quan Jingwu raised an eyebrow, “Does the milk make your mouth this sweet?”

“Mm, very sweet indeed, why don’t you have a taste.” Wrapping her arms around his neck, Jian Qing lightly pecked at his lips, spreading a light milk flavor onto them.

A pitch blue light burned in Quan Jingwu’s eyes, growing deeper as he looked at her. “Mischievous imp, wait till I get my hands on you in a few days.”

Jian Qing watched him suppress his desire and laughingly handed him the storybook she had been holding. “Lord Jing, it’s time to read the babies their bedtime story.”

His lips tightened as he reluctantly sighed.

She really had him under her spell.

Cuddling her with one arm, he unrolled the storybook with the other, beginning to read the story.

“Once upon a time, in a beautiful kingdom…”

Reading leisurely with a charming voice, Jian Qing nested in his embrace, staring at his handsome face with adoring eyes.

Her Lord Jing looked so dashing while reading stories!

“Third brother, sister-in-law, are you guys out for a walk so early again?” Quan Yifei, having a rare day off, waved them over when he saw them return.”

“Yeah, don’t you have to work overtime today?” Jian Qing asked.

Quan Yifei shook his head, “No need.”

“Jingwu, are you free today?” The patriarch of the Quan family emerged from the dining room, spotting Quan Jingwu and asked.

Quan Jingwu slightly raised his eyebrows, “Hmm?”

“There’re some issues on the other side that need you. Can you help to handle That?” Patriarch Quan spoke.

When he mentioned “That’, he was referring to some confidential task that couldn’t be discussed openly.

“Jing, go with grandpa. There are lots of people at home to accompany me. You don’t need to worry.” Jian Qing reassured him and held his hand.

“Don’t wander around recklessly, call me if you need anything, I’ll bring it back for you when I return.” Quan Jingwu looked at her affectionately while speaking softly.

She replied with a smile, “OK”.

After sending off Quan Jingwu, Jian Qing watched from the living room as the matron of the Quan household and Rhee knitted clothes for the babies. She couldn’t help but admire Rhee’s handywork, marveling at how adept she was with her hands.

“Jian Qing, would you like to try again?” Rhee looked up and noticed Jian Qing eyeing them, inviting her to join.

“No, otherwise, I may end up wasting a ball of yarn.” Jian Qing recalled how she knit something unrecognizable last time and shuddered at the thought.

Apart from cooking, knitting was now another area she considered a black hole.

She saw Quan Yifei on Facebook out of the corner of her eye and suggested, “Yifei, let’s go out for a bit.”

“Sure, wait a minute, let me change clothes.” Mentioning shopping, Quan Yifei was immediately ready. She quickly put away her mobile phone and ran upstairs.

“Jian Qing, let our driver take you and Yifei, don’t drive on your own anymore. Or should I also call some bodyguards to accompany you?” Rhee suggested.

Jian Qing instantly imagined a scene with her walking in front and a crowd of bodyguards following her.

Just thinking about it gave her chills.

“Mom, that’s not necessary. We’re just going for a stroll. We’ll be back soon.”

Seeing Jian Qing’s insistence, Rhee did not push further. “Just be careful on your way.”

“Okay.”

“Ready Jian Qing, let’s go.” Quan Yifei came bouncing down the stairs, the small bag on her shoulder swaying as she moved.

“Yifei, take good care of Jian Qing.” The matron of Quan household reminded.

Quan Yifei saluted, “I swear!”

Watching their backs as they left, a kindly smile lit up the elderly matriarch’s face.

“Ouch!”

Startled by a sudden prick, Rhee’s finger began to bleed.

The matriarch quickly grabbed a band-aid. “Are you okay?”

“It’s fine, just a little prick. I don’t need a band-aid.” Wiping away the blood, Rhee comforted her.

Disagreeing, the matriarch applied the band aid on her finger. “That won’t do, if it gets wet and gets infected, it wouldn’t be good. Better keep it covered.”

Rhee looked at the band-aid on her finger, feeling slightly unsettled.

At the Song residence

“Rourou, why haven’t you been going to the company these past few days? Are you unwell?” Zhang Tong came down the stairs and was surprised to find Song Xirou still at home.

Deep in thought, Song Xirou was immersed in her phone. Hearing Zhang Tong’s voice, she started and came back to reality.

“Mom!”

“Rourou, what’s the matter?” Zhang Tong sat beside her. Concern filled her eyes as she watched her preoccupied daughter.

With a forced smile, Song Xirou replied, “It’s nothing, I’m just a little exhausted from all the work recently.”

“So it is. Then take a few days to rest at home. I’ll let your father know.” Zhang Tong advised.

“By the way, Rourou, how are things going with An Yun?”

“Mom, what are you talking about? There’s nothing going on between An Yun and me.” Speaking of An Yun, Song Xirou’s eyes passed a trace of irritation.

“Rourou, An Yun is actually quite good. Apart from the An family’s deep-rooted status in Beijing, just his feelings for you… Your mom feels that they’re genuine. Don’t keep overlooking someone who really loves you because you’re fixated on someone else.” Zhang Tong patted her shoulder, her voice heavy with sincerity.

“All right, mom, I…”

Song Xirou was cut off by the ringing of her phone. She saw it was an unfamiliar number.

Could it be him?

A shadowy figure with a cloak and a wolf mask flashed before her eyes. She hastily got up and ran out.

“Mom, I have to go. I won’t be back for dinner tonight.”

“Rourou, where are you going?” Zhang Tong watched her run off and called after her.

“I’ll be back later.” Song Xirou replied without looking back.

“Kids these days…” Zhang Tong murmured.

Song Xirou ran out of the house and only took the call after finding a hidden spot under a tree.

“Hello, this is…”

“Miss Song, the plan has begun. It’s time for you to act.” The husky voice of a man spoke from the other end of the phone.

Song Xirou’s pupils constricted, she tightened her grip on the phone until her knuckles turned white.

“Now?”

“Yes,” the man responded. “It’s time.”
