Chapter 757: 743, Going to the small garden (2) _1 Chapter 757: 743, Going to the small garden (2) _1 “Young Master Er!”
The guards at the door bowed and cried out in unison when they saw Shen Yan coming.
Shen Yan nodded, “Step aside.”
“Er…Young Master Er, without Master’s instructions, we can’t let you in,” the guards said, looking uncomfortable.
Hearing this, Shen Yan smiled mockingly.
Since when did he need his elder brother’s permission to enter here?
“Bold, you better move aside for Young Master Er immediately,” A’er said sternly.
“Young Master Er, it’s not that we purposely block you, it’s just, Master instructed that nobody is allowed to enter without his order,” a guard explained.
A’er frowned, about to speak, but Shen Yan beat him to it, “Go tell my brother, I want to see him now.”
“Yes.” After giving Shen Yan a look, the guard turned and went inside.
“Young Master Er, it seems Master has begun to suspect something,” A’er said in a low voice, as he watched the guard enter.
In the past, Young Master Er could come and go freely, but now he needed Master’s permission to enter. It was clear that the Master had noticed Young Master Er’s recent actions.
Shen Yan replied calmly, “No matter.”
After a short time, the guard appeared again.
He bowed and said, “Young Master Er, you should go back. Master is busy with a video meeting and cannot see you now.”
Having perhaps already expected such a response, Shen Yan remained unruffled. He said, not angrily nor annoyed, “A’er, let’s go.”
A’er gave a glance at the small building, where the lighted study was, and pushed the wheelchair to leave.
On the quiet path, the faint fragrance of flowers lingered in the air.
In the wheelchair, Shen Yan closed his eyes as if sleeping, the corners of his lips curving in an almost imperceptible smile.
“A’er, go to the garden.”
His gentle voice carried an undercurrent of calmness, as though a storm was imminent.
A’er stopped in his tracks, a look of confusion appeared on his expressionless face, “Young Master Er, this is… not a good idea, is it?”
Going to the garden without Master’s permission would certainly provoke Master’s wrath.
“What’s wrong with it? If you don’t want to go with me, you can go back first. I can go alone,” Shen Yan said.
“Young Master Er, this will anger Master,” A’er advised helplessly.
Shen Yan smiled indifferently, “Unless I provoke him, how would he be willing to see me?”
Big brother, this is you forcing me to this point. This was my last resort.
A’er scratched his nose and ended up pushing him toward the garden.
However, this time they were stopped by the patrolling personnel before they reached the entrance to the garden.
“Young Master Er, why are you here?”
“What, I need to notify you when I come here?” Shen Yan said, his face turning cold. He glanced at the patrolling personnel and sneered inwardly.
Even on their own territory, his elder brother’s vigilance was so high.
Who was he really guarding against? Him or someone inside?
“Young Master Er, we are just following Master’s orders, please don’t make things difficult for us,” the leading man of the patrolling team said.
With a relaxed demeanour, Shen Yan said, “Go tell my brother, if he doesn’t come, I’ll just break in.”
“This, uh… well…” the patrollers were in a dilemma.
“Go on, quick, go inform the Master,” the leader of the patrol ordered.
Watching the receding back of the patroller, Shen Yan’s eyes darkened.
On the other side, in the study, Shen Hua was busy with a video conference.
Several languages echoed persistently in the study room. Shen Hua sat at his desk, his expression grim, occasionally making decisions directed toward people on the other side of the video.
“Knock knock knock!”
Suddenly, there was a rapid knocking on the door.
Shen Hua frowned, “Who is it?”
“Master, it’s me, Asan.”
The man’s voice came through the door.
Shen Hua, “Come in.”
The heavy door swung open, and Asan rushed in.
Without a pause, he said, “Master, there’s a problem. Young Master Er has gone to the garden.”
Before Asan had finished his sentence, Shen Hua closed his laptop and stood abruptly. “Useless! Did you stop him?”
“The patrol stopped Young Master Er on the outskirts, but he insists on seeing you, otherwise he said he’ll force his way in,” Asan reported.
Hearing this, Shen Hua’s gloomy eyes chilled further. He tightened his grip, “Damn, Ayan, your wings sure are hardening.”
Approaching in secret, Asan said carefully, “Master, why don’t you just go and see Young Master Er, his health just improved, it would be bad if the illness recurs.”
“Let’s go.”
Shen Hua walked past the desk, exuding a cold air, and left.
The atmosphere outside the garden was strained.
The night was deep and the chill grew stronger.
“Shen Yan!”
The man’s voice, heavy with suppressed anger, carried an undertone of displeasure.
Shen Yan heard the familiar voice, looked up, and saw Shen Hua’s tall figure looming against the light from the streetlamp.
His aura was intimidating, and the onlookers swiftly moved aside in fear as they saw him, heads lowered.
“Master!”
Voices called out in unison, echoing in the night.
Shen Hua stopped. From his elevated position, he looked down at Shen Yan, his gaze intense. “All of you, step back.”
“Yes.”
The members of the patrol team quickly dispersed to their posts.
“A’er, Asan, stand aside,” Shen Hua commanded.
A’er looked to Shen Yan, who nodded. A’er turned to follow Asan away and wait at the nearby pavilion.
When everyone had gone, Shen Yan looked up at his brother’s tense face and smiled faintly, “Brother, I thought for once you’d allow me to enter, but it turns out you’ve come yourself.”
However, his gentle smile only increased Shen Hua’s displeasure.
“Ayan, stop challenging my limits.”
Shen Yan matched his gaze without backing down, the smile fading from his lips, “Brother, then you should stop challenging my limits. We should stop challenging each other’s limits, I think that would be the best outcome.”
“What do you mean by that?” Shen Hua’s eyes darkened, asking, although he already knew the answer.
Shen Yan didn’t get impatient with his play-acting, “Brother, I’ve told you, I’ve found a suitable heart that can let me live on, and you’ve promised me that you won’t lay a finger on Jian Qing until she gives birth. Now are you planning on breaking your promise?”
“Who told you that?” Shen Hua asked, looking grimly at him.
“Brother, don’t forget I’m your sibling, not a fool. Do not touch her, or else I wouldn’t hold back, familial affection be damned.” Shen Yan got up, looking straight at him, speaking with a forceful manner.
“Shen Yan!” Shen Hua grabbed his collar and raised a fist to punch him in the face.
Shen Yan looked at him calmly, showcasing no signs of fear.
The punch, carrying wind, approached Shen Yan’s face. Just a centimeter away, it stopped. Shen Hua looked with bloodshot eyes at the face before him, which held some resemblance to his own, but he didn’t bring down his fist.
