If it were to be a little prince, I fear he might turn out to be a little iceberg just like Jingwu.” Quan Mingxuan glanced at Quan Jingwu and jested.

Upon hearing this, everyone burst into laughter.

“Hahahaha!”

Late at night, the starlight in the sky was sparse.

The luxurious crystal lamp was refracting warm-toned light, and the sound of running water in the bathroom suddenly stopped.

Swish.

The tightly closed bathroom door was pushed open, and a slender leg stepped out.

Jian Qing sat on the bed with her laptop, and upon hearing the movement, she looked up. Her gaze inadvertently met with the man’s deep purple eyes, and the corners of her lips curved up.

“Xiaojing, come here, I just thought of something.”

Quan Jingwu’s eyebrows raised slightly, and his slender figure was loosely wrapped in a bathrobe. His well-defined chest was exposed under the light, looming with explosive power.

He walked over leisurely as Jian Qing moved to the side to make room for him.

“What’s on your mind, hm?” Quan Jingwu pulled back the quilt and lay on the bed. He stretched out his muscular arm and pulled her into his arms.

“Didn’t we agree to take our wedding photos around spring after the New Year?” Jian Qing leaned against his chest, her soft long hair brushed against his skin, and the light in Quan Jingwu’s eyes dimmed momentarily.

“Yes, we were planning to, but the date has been moved.”

Jian Qing sat up straight, looking at him squarely, “The date’s been moved?”

She wasn’t aware of it.

“You’re pregnant now. It would be too much to take wedding photos. We’ll wait until after the baby is born, and then we’ll have the wedding too,” he explained while gently stroking her long hair, his slender fingers threading through her raven tresses.

“Is it that simple?” Jian Qing looked at him skeptically. Her woman’s intuition told her that he must have other reasons.

Quan Jingwu met her scrutinizing gaze, and lightly curved his lips: “Our wedding photos, no one else is allowed to feature in them.”

Even if it’s their baby, it’s not allowed.

Others?

Upon hearing his words, Jian Qing didn’t quite understand at first and blurted out, “Who else could there be?”

He held her, and put her hand on her stomach, lowering his voice, “This little one.”

“…”

Jian Qing was dumbfounded.

So, the ‘others’ that he was referring to was their baby. That’s ridiculous.

“Xiaojing, this is our baby,” She looked at him, and said incredulously.

Quan Jingwu nodded to indicate that he knew.

“Right now, my stomach isn’t showing yet, and you won’t be able to tell in the wedding photos.” Jian Qing’s obsidian eyes twinkled with an admonishing light.

“You’re discriminating against our baby, and the baby will be unhappy if they know.”

Quan Jingwu gave a hum, his big hand gently caressing her abdomen, and his voice was magnetic, “Daddy’s little cotton-padded jacket, you won’t be upset, right?”

Jian Qing found his words both amusing and helpless.

“See, our baby didn’t make a sound, she agrees with me.” He whispered into her ear after a few seconds of silence.

“…Fine, I admit defeat.” Jian Qing pouted and sighed.

Her husband, Jing, was becoming more and more shameless.

“Let’s sleep, you haven’t had much rest today.” Quan Jingwu pulled over the brocade quilt, firmly covering the piece of his heart in his arms.

“You haven’t read a story to our baby yet.” Jian Qing handed him a storybook, looking at him with bright shining eyes.

Quan Jingwu smiled, opened the storybook and began reading. As an ideal dad, of course, he had to start from prenatal education.

The next day, after having breakfast with Jian Qing, Quan Jingwu went to the company. He hadn’t been there for almost a month, and lots of paperwork accumulated in his office, along with several meetings waiting for him.

As for Jian Qing, she was pulled out by Xiya with a phone call.

In the cafe, a soothing piano melody echoed.

At a table by the window, three women were sitting together, one of whom was holding a little bundle.

“Maomao, smile for auntie, please?” Zhan Mingyan reached out to tickle Maomao’s chubby little hand, and her voice softened as she cooed.

Maomao looked at Zhan Mingyan with her round eyes wide open, her cherry lips pursing into a sweet smile.

Zhan Mingyan had hearts in her eyes, she was absolutely smitten.

Xiya glanced at her and chuckled, “If you like children so much, you need to hurry up and have one too.”

“I’d love to, but I’d need a man first.” Zhan Mingyan’s face lit up with laughter, betraying no hint of the sorrow she displayed a month ago.

Jian Qing glanced at Zhan Mingyan, seeing her regain her vibrant demeanor, and smiled.

Xiya gave her a hearty pat on the shoulder, “Tell me what type you prefer, and I’ll introduce someone to you. Just remember to give me a big red envelope when the time comes.”

“No, I’ll find someone myself.” Zhan Mingyan joked, “I’m broke recently. I don’t have money for a big red envelope.”

Xiya rolled her eyes, “The rich always claim they’re poor.”

Hit by sudden remembrance, she turned to look at Jian Qing, her eyes filled with curiosity, “Jian, there’s something I’ve wanted to ask you. I just keep forgetting about it.”

“Hmm?” Jian Qing took a bite of her cake, raised her eyelids and looked at her.

“What did Khan do to Daisy?” she asked.

Jian Qing raised her eyebrow, “Why are you suddenly asking about this now? Haven’t you asked Khan?”

“I wouldn’t ask him. He might get the wrong idea and think I’m jealous.” Xiya huffed.

“He drugged Daisy and left her incapacitated, then sent her to a slum in a foreign country,” Jian Qing replied calmly.

Xiya was taken aback, seeming somewhat surprised.

Jian Qing looked at her surprised expression and laughed, “He has already shown his feelings through his actions, aren’t you going to consider getting the certificate?”

“Absolutely not, I’ll keep him hanging.” Xiya’s smile reappeared on her face, her voice cold, “Once we get the certificate, his tail would stick up to the sky. I’m not stupid.”

Jian Qing shook her head and chuckled, her gaze shifting to Zhan Mingyan, “Mingyan, how’s your work at the Troops?”

“My grandfather agreed, so I am now unemployed.” Zhan Mingyan put her chin in her hands and laughed.

“Is the unemployed lady planning to have a blind date?” Xiya joked.

“Don’t mention ‘blind date’ to me. My mom implied that she wanted to arrange a blind date for me a while ago. In the end, I had to go abroad to avoid her.” The word ‘blind date’ had Zhan Mingyan written all over her face.

“Go for fun. Your life is so boring anyways. Consider it a flavor enhancer, it doesn’t mean you have to like those people.” Xiya suggested.

Zhan Mingyan shook her head, “If the flavor-enhancer is a tough nut to crack, wouldn’t I be getting myself in trouble? I think I’ll pass.”

“So what’s your plan?” Jian Qing reached out to touch Maomao’s soft little face, talking and playing with her at the same time.

“I’ve been focusing on work previously, I barely had time to travel. I plan to enjoy myself for a while before deciding.” Zhan Mingyan bit into a piece of cake and mumbled indistinctly.
