Chapter 679: 665, A Cherry Blossom and A Letter (2) _1 Chapter 679: 665, A Cherry Blossom and A Letter (2) _1 “Mother, I…”
Ito Mie interrupted her before she finished, “I just got the news. Your father seems to be unwilling to spare you this time.”
“Mother, what does that mean?” Ito Keiko was anxious, her uninjured hand quickly grabbed Ito Mie’s hand.
“Is Father planning to discipline me? Is he going to depose me as a princess?”
Shadows clouded Ito Mie’s eyes as she replied, “Your father asked Yukiko to plead with Jian Qing. As long as Jian Qing does not cut off her cooperation with the royal family, he is willing to hand you over to Jian Qing to deal with.”
“What?” Ito Keiko’s pupils shrank, and her face lost all color.
Was her father really going to abandon her?
No, that’s impossible.
She was her father’s favorite daughter, how could he do this to her?
She grasped Ito Mie’s hand tightly, “Mother, you were joking just now, right? Father loves me the most, how could he abandon me, you were just joking, right?”
Hiss.
Ito Mie grimaced as her wrist ached from the tight grip. She brushed Keiko’s hand away, “Keiko, calm down and listen to me.”
“Was it because Ito Yukiko said something bad about me in front of father, so he made this decision? It must be that she is spreading rumors.” Ito Keiko stood up, and ran out in a daze.
“No, I have to confront her.”
Ito Mie had a headache. She grabbed Keiko and ruthlessly slapped her face.
Slap.
The crisp sound echoed in the room. Ito Keiko fell to the ground, looking blankly at Ito Mie.
Her already swollen cheek was hit again, and blood spilled from the corner of her lips. Ito Mie’s slap was heavy.
“Even in this situation, you are still impulsive. No wonder you are not comparable to Yukiko. Do you really want your father to completely abandon you, allowing Yukiko to be the only favored one?” said Ito Mie, her face tight.
Ito Keiko looked up, staring blankly at her and said helplessly, “Mother, what should I do then? I don’t want to fall into the hands of that maniac Jian Qing. She is a devil, if I fall into her hands, she will definitely kill me.”
“Stand up!” Ito Mie barked.
She, Ito Mie, had been scheming for most of her life, only to give birth to such a stupid daughter. It was so annoying.
Staggering, Ito Keiko stood up, her bandages were a little loose.
“The most urgent task is not to deal with Jian Qing, but Yukiko.” Ito Mie said fiercely.
“Yukiko?” Ito Keiko asked.
Ito Mie flicked her sleeve, touching the vibrant flowers in the vase, a cold gleam in her eyes: “Yes, your biggest enemy now is not Jian Qing, but Yukiko. Your father only has two daughters. If you ruin Yukiko, even if your father doesn’t like you, he won’t hand you over to Jian Qing.”
Hearing this, hope ignited in Ito Keiko’s eyes, she asked urgently: “Then, mother, how can I get rid of Yukiko? She always has people following her, it won’t be so easy to harm her.”
“Didn’t your father send Yukiko to negotiate with Jian Qing?”
“Mother, are you saying we should take this opportunity?” Ito Keiko asked tentatively.
Ito Mie nodded.
Ito Keiko asked, “So, what should we do? If we kill Yukiko directly, father will definitely investigate.”
“Come closer.”
Ito Keiko hurriedly moved closer, and whatever Ito Mie whispered in her ear made her smile turn vicious.
“Great, mother, we won’t have to do anything. That cheap bitch Yukiko will be too ashamed to live.”
Ito Mie smiled cruelly, her sharp fingernails sliced throbbing flower petals, then plucked the bud off. Bright red petals fell everywhere.
“It’s high time she gave up the position of the head princess!”
The thought of the head princess’s position made Ito Keiko’s eyes gleam with envy. She had been waiting for that position for a long time.
A cool breeze blew by and the cherry blossoms trembled.
Under the tree, a man sat in a wheelchair. Pink and white petals fell onto the blanket covering his knees. With a dazed look, he touched a piece of petal with his fingertips.
The sound of footsteps approached, catching his attention.
A’er walked up to him with a blank expression, “Young Master, we have found out where Quan Jingwu lives.”
Shen Yan gave a hum, flicking the petal away with a tint of interest curling his lips, “What’s been happening on Ito’s side?”
“Ito Takahashi sent Princess Yukiko to negotiate with Jian Qing while Ito Keiko is recuperating in her room,” replied A’er.
Shen Yan chuckled, “Awei, your young lady is certainly improving. She’s even better than you were in your prime!”
Aer scratched his head, conflicted, “Young master, there’s something else.”
“Speak.”
“Eldest master has sent a message, asking you not to stay outside for too long,” Aer hesitated and then added.
Shen Yan gave a soft laugh, shooting him a sidelong glance, “A’er, I’m certain that my brother told you more than just that. You don’t have to hide it from me.”
“The eldest master already knows about your stay here and Jian Qing investigating you. He asked me to tell you that if you continue to get close to Jian Qing, he will not be able to hold up to the promise he made with you,” Aer said, not missing a word.
Shen Yan brushed away the petals on the blanket, looking up at the azure sky with a gentle smile on his lips.
“With her gone, there’s no point for me to stay here any longer,” he said to himself, then turning to Aer, “Get ready, we’re going back to the island tomorrow.”
“Yes”
Shen Yan stood up from the wheelchair, picking a cherry blossom. The cluster of pink and white petals exuding a subtle fragrance.
“A’er, help me deliver this and this letter to Jian Qing.” From his pocket, he took out a letter and handed it and the flower to A’er.
All his communicative devices were possibly being monitored by his elder brother. Only if A’er delivered it personally, would he feel relieved.
Aer hesitated before taking them, “Yes.”
“Make sure you don’t let my brother’s people find out about this.” Shen Yan warned quietly.
“I understand.”
“Go.”
A’er left with the cherry blossom and the letter, as Shen Yan watched his retreating figure, he sighed.
Jian Qing, take care of yourself.
I hope that our next meeting will not be on the island.
…
“Xiaojing, have some soup.” Jian Qing came out of the kitchen holding a small bowl, “I just had it delivered, it’s still hot.”
