Chapter 616: 602, There is a Wolf (2)_1 Chapter 616: 602, There is a Wolf (2)_1 “Xiangxiang, as a lady of nobility, it’s absolutely impossible for you to stay in the entertainment circle forever. Women inevitably age, and then what will you compete with? The Zhou family is even wealthier than our Yang family. After you marry Zhou Yi, you will become the young mistress of the Zhou family, a status far higher than being a star. What’s more, with the support from the Zhou family, our Yang Group wouldn’t have financial problems. Do you understand?” Yang Lin calmly analyzed for her.

Yang Xiang was shocked, staring blankly at Yang Lin.

“Sis, what should I do? Zhou Yi doesn’t plan to get married so soon.”

Yang Lin held her hand and smirked, “Men always like to change their minds. Zhou Yi is no exception. Whether he wants to marry or not isn’t up to him. As long as you become pregnant with his child as soon as possible, Zhou Yi’s parents will naturally hasten your marriage.”

“Carry his child?” A glint shone in Yang Xiang’s eyes.

“Yes, Zhou Yi’s mother has been longing to have a grandchild as soon as possible. If you become pregnant with Zhou Yi’s child, given our families’ relationship, it would be natural for you to get married,” said Yang Lin.

Yang Xiang nodded heavily, “Sis, I will do as you say, but you have to keep my pregnancy confidential.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell mom either,” Yang Lin assured.

Just as their conversation finished, they were startled by a knock on the door.

“Xiangxiang, what are you two hiding in the room for?”

The voice of An Rong came from outside, startling both of them.

“Mom, we’re coming out.”

Yang Lin took a deep breath and swiftly pulled her out of the room.

During the Spring Festival, countless people visited the old mansion of the Quan family every day. As guests were always welcomed, it wouldn’t be appropriate to shut them out, so Rhee and others were kept very busy.

From afar, the garden outside the courtyard was filled with the sound of women’s conversations and laughter, mostly filled with veiled one-upmanship.

Today, the ladies from the many aristocratic families in Beijing visited. To accommodate them, Rhee and the others decided to host an afternoon tea party for these ladies, allowing them to talk among themselves and sparing them from idle chatter.

“Mrs. Quan, where is your daughter-in-law?” One of the ladies sitting next to Rhee asked with a sly smile.

“Indeed, Mrs. Quan is indeed blessed to have such a wonderful daughter-in-law. We are all so envious,” another lady chimed in.

“Mrs. Quan’s daughter-in-law is indeed beautiful. Very few ladies from aristocratic families in Beijing can compare.”

Flattering phrases like these were easy to come by, and once one person started, more followed suit.

Rhee was growing tired of the sweet talk, her face displaying a polite smile but her eyes revealing her disinterest.

“A wolf! There’s a wolf!”

Out of the blue, a woman’s piercing shriek shocked everyone.

Looking towards the sound, everyone’s faces changed, their smiles fading.

Under the sunlight, the Snow Wolf’s pure white fur gleamed. Its robust limbs made it appear majestic, and its black eyes gave off a chilling glow that was intimidating.

“Snowball, how did you get here?” Quan Yifei was surprised to see the Snow Wolf and quickly walked over to it.

“Everyone, don’t be scared. That’s the Snow Wolf that Jingwu keeps at home. It won’t harm anyone randomly,” Rhee calmed the crowd.

Upon hearing the name Quan Jingwu, everyone exchanged looks, suddenly remembering the rumors in Beijing about the Snow Wolf kept by Jingwu. Could it be this one?

According to the rumors, this Snow Wolf nearly killed a spoiled young master of an aristocratic family. After that incident, the news of Jingwu keeping a Snow Wolf spread throughout the city.

“Snowball, who sent you here?”

Quan Yifei stooped down, smiling as she stretched out her hand to pat Snowball.

Her bold act made the other less courageous ladies feel tense.

Snowball moved its fluffy head away from her hand, arrogantly wagged its tail, and continually scanned the surroundings with its black eyes as if looking for something.

Where is the beauty?

Where is its master’s wife?

“Shen Hao!”

Quan Yifei looked up to see Shen Hao approaching and waved to him.

“Shen Hao, did you bring Snowball here?”

Smiling, Shen Hao nodded, “The Boss had me bring him.”

Just as he finished talking, Snowball suddenly turned around and sped off, startling even Shen Hao.

“Snowball!”

Quan Yifei called out gently, but just as she was about to chase after Snowball, Shen Hao held her back.

“No need to chase him. Look,” he pointed towards a spot not far away.

She looked where he was pointing and saw two figures coming into view, one in black and one in white.

She sighed and smiled wryly.

This arrogant Snowball was indeed…

Beautiful!

Snowball trotted happily towards them, his eyes bright.

However, before he could get close to Jian Qing, a chilling voice came from the other side, promptly stopping Snowball’s galloping paws.

“Snowball, stop!”

Quan Jingwu, supporting Jian Qing, looked down at Snowball with a hint of distaste in his eyes.

This was obviously a wolf but it behaved like a silly, loyal husky.

Had it mutated?

It seemed to sense the owner’s disgust and the Snow Wolf looked up at Jian Qing. Its shiny eyes were filled with a hint of resentment.

Beauty, the master is bullying me.

Seeing its cute expression, Jian Qing couldn’t help but laugh. She slowly bent down and gently ruffled the fur on its big head.

“Snowball, how have you grown chubbier in just a few days?”

Her words were a blow to Snowball’s heart.

Snowball hung its head, turned around, and pointed its butt at Jian Qing. Its fluffy tail swayed arrogantly from side to side.

“Jingwu, maybe we should cut Snowball’s dinner in half tonight, so it doesn’t get too heavy to run,” Jian Qing glanced at Snowball out of the corner of her eye and suggested.

Mention of food quickly refocused Snowball’s attention.

It immediately turned around and continually rubbed against Jian Qing’s feet.

All it could do was act cute in hopes of a response.

Jian Qing chuckled, “Alright, I won’t cut back on your dinner.”

“Qingqing, how come you got out of bed?” Rhee approached and asked with concern.

Jian Qing replied, “I’ve been lying in bed for too long, so I wanted to walk around.”

“I’ve had the kitchen prepare a tonic for you. Remember to have Jingwu bring it to you later,” Rhee softly told her.

“Alright,” she nodded, her eyes catching sight of the crowd not too far away. She frowned slightly and said, “Jingwu, let’s sit in the living room.”

Jingwu nodded, holding onto her as they left, with Snow Wolf obediently trailing beside them.

With the Snow Wolf gone, the ladies finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, when they saw the duo walking side by side, envy filled their eyes.

The CEO of JK International, spending most of his time at home with his wife during the New Year, was so gentle… Why was Jian Qing the one chosen by Jingwu?

Fate really is quite unfair.
