Chapter 602: 588, Awake (1)_1 Chapter 602: 588, Awake (1)_1 “Grandpa, father, let’s sit outside. Bai Jue has said that my sister will wake up in a while, we shouldn’t disturb her rest by crowding around her here.” Jian Luo glanced at Quan Jingwu, and then turned to address Mo Xiao and the others.

“Yes, Uncle, let’s go outside. All of us crowding around here will disturb Jian Qing’s rest. Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, nothing will happen to Jian Qing and the baby.” Bai Jue agreed.

At these words, Mo Xiao and Grandpa Jian reluctantly left the room.

Quan Mingxuan was the last to leave, closing the door on his way out.

In the room’s light, Mingxuan’s handsome face seemed harsh and intimidating, his prominent jawline emanating an icy sternness.

He lifted his hand towards her pale face, his slender fingers gently caressing her brow.

The careful tenderness in his actions was filled with pity.

“Lazy girl, how long do you plan to sleep, huh?”

The sultry, smoky timbre of his voice dissipated in the air.

He leaned in, pressing against her forehead, his deep purple pupils laced with deep sadness.

“My dear, can you stop oversleeping? I miss you!”

Chilly teardrops fell on Jian Qing’s beautiful face, and as if sensing his sadness, her closed eyelashes fluttered.

After a while, her clear eyes slowly opened, revealing the puzzled gaze of someone just waking from sleep. As her glance met his refined purple gaze, the bloodless lips traced a faint smile.

“Jingwu!”

Her voice was weak, almost inaudible, but clearly reaching Quan Jingwu’s ears.

Jingwu’s eyes immediately brightened as he leaned in to gaze at her.

“My dear!”

Her clear eyes filled with a warm smile that captivated Jingwu.

He straightened up, allowing Jian Qing to finally notice his haggard look. His deep-set eyes were rimmed with bloodshot streaks, the shadows under his eyes making her heart ache.

She reached up to touch his cheek, “Jingwu, what’s wrong?”

Jingwu held her hand, looking at her affectionately, as he said, “You fool, I thought you didn’t want me anymore.”

Discerning the fear and worry in his voice, Jian Qing replied with a light laugh, “Didn’t we agree that I’d stick with you forever? I could never not want you.”

“Promise you won’t sleep so long next time, okay?” He lowered his head, their noses almost touching, as he spoke in a hushed tone..

She grinned, murmuring an affirmative.

Suddenly remembering something, she scanned the ward, “where’s Mom and everyone else? How are they?”

“They’re all safe,” he replied.

Relieved at the news, Jian Qing displayed a puzzled look.

Given the extent of her injuries from the car hit, she wondered why she had been unconscious for so long. It didn’t add up.

Noticing her silence, Quan Jingwu mistook it for discomfort and his heart sank again, “Is something wrong? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?”

“Jingwu!”

She laid her hand on his, soothingly saying, “I’m fine, don’t worry.”

She knew she must have scared him this time, but she hadn’t expected to be unconscious for so long after the collision either.

“Are you really okay?” He was still somewhat worried.

Jian Qing nodded, despite feeling a bit weak.

“Help me sit up.”

Quan Jingwu immediately held her shoulders, managing not to hurt her, before softly saying, “No, you need to lie down for now.”

Jian Qing looked at him, puzzled.

What’s going on?

“My dear, there’s something I need to tell you.” Quan Jingwu spoke, his normally cold gaze now tenderly focused on her.

“Hmm?”

Jian Qing blinked, confused.

He suddenly seized her hand, gently resting it on her flat stomach, the corners of his eyes trailing a warm smile.

“Our baby is here. Ours!”

He kept emphasizing it, his low tone barely concealing his excitement.

His previous concern for her safety hadn’t left much room for him to fully enjoy the feeling of impending fatherhood. Now, he wanted to share the good news with her. Every time he thought about welcoming a little bundle of joy that was a mixture of both of them in nine months, he couldn’t resist smiling.

Jian Qing froze, taking a while to snap out of her daze.

His words echoed in her ears and she broke into a dazed chuckle.

Looking down at the still flat stomach, her heart fluttered.

The baby of herself and him.

She looked up at Jingwu, their eyes meeting, a thin sheen of tears veiling her clear gaze.

“Jingwu!”

She softly called out to him, the tears in her eyes spilling out.

The sight of her in tears tugged at Jingwu’s heartstrings.

Quan Jingwu cupped her face in his hands, wiping away the tears, handling her as if she were a delicate treasure.

“You silly, who gave you permission to cry, huh?”

Jian Qing sniffled and formed a slight smile.

She reached up to hug him, voicing in a soft tone, “These are tears of joy, don’t you get it?”

Jingwu propped himself up on his elbows looking down at her as he said in a bossy tone, “Even so, never cry again without my permission.”

“Why are you so overbearing?” Jian Qing laughed amidst her tears, her tear-soaked gaze even more captivating.

Jingwu’s brow raised in surprise, his slender finger tracing her lips, “Seeing you cry hurts me. So I have to be a little possessive.”

His sweet-nothings warmed her heart.

Jian Qing wrapped her arms around his neck, her brows softening, “Jingwu, I’m really, really happy!”

“Silly girl!”

He chuckled lightly, the worried look on his face instantly fading..

“Ahem!”

From somewhere, a cough echoed.

“It seems like I chose a bad time to come.”

Jian Qing looked up only to see Bai Jue with a cheeky grin on his face.

“What are you doing here?”

Before Bai Jue could respond with his offhand smirk, Jian Luo and others rushed in after hearing some noise from the outside.

“Sister!”

“Qingqing!”

Jian Luo brushed past Bai Jue, as he sprinted in first.

Bai Jue’s mouth twitched, before being pushed aside by Grandpa Jian who came in just after Luo.

And there he was, knocked off balance again, an afterthought in the room.

Wasn’t he the doctor in the room?

“Qingqing!”

Mo Xiao followed close on Jian’s heels, and yet again, Bai Jue was shoved to the side.

Seeing everyone, who should be in M country, right here for her filled Jian Qing with warmth.

“Grandpa, Father!”

Seeing her awake brought tears to the eyes of the two resilient men, Jian’s father and Mo Xiao.

“Qingqing, you gave us quite a scare.”

Grandpa Jian approached, his callused hands gently patting her head.

“Why didn’t you tell us you were pregnant? Why didn’t you take better care of yourself?”

Jian Qing held his hand, a faint smile on her face, “Grandpa, I just found out about the pregnancy too. I’m sorry for worrying all of you.”

“No need for apologies” Grandpa Jian had a kind smile on his face, “As long as you’re safe and sound, that’s all that matters.”
