Chapter 1063: 1048. Locke Side Story (17) Chapter 1063: 1048. Locke Side Story (17) “So what if there is, which law says I can’t spoil you?” Black Jack tilted his head back, his eyes like blue crystals, twinkling with an indulgent smile.

Jian Luo chuckled softly, leaning in close to him, and suddenly cupped his face with both hands, initiating a kiss on his forehead.

“Can we kiss somewhere else?” Black Jack asked from the heart.

Jian Luo playfully pinched his cheek, “No.”

Black Jack pulled over a towel to help him wipe his feet, “Take a nap first, and I’ll wake you up later.”

Jian Luo nodded, slipping into bed to sleep.

Black Jack picked up the water basin and walked back to the bathroom.

In March, the only people invited to the fashion show included top-notch designers from the industry, international celebrities, as well as some wealthy and influential ladies; March invitations were hard to come by.

Among the VIP seats, Bai Jue and Zhan Mingyan were also present.

Jian Luo looked at their intertwined fingers and teased, “How do you newlyweds have time to come to my show?”

Bai Jue, “Aren’t we welcome?”

“I truly don’t welcome you,” Jian Luo nodded, shifting his gaze to Zhan Mingyan, “Mingyan, just come by yourself next time, don’t bring him.”

Zhan Mingyan nodded her head with a smile, “Okay.”

“Wife, you can’t turn your elbow out,” Bai Jue said plaintively.

“Black Jack, you guys sit here; I’ll go backstage and come back later.”

No sooner had the words left his mouth than Jian Luo’s assistant came over to call someone.

In the backstage resting room, Jian Luo was discussing the details of the upcoming fashion show with the staff when a deep voice interrupted.

“Lotley, long time no see.”

Jian Luo turned his head, a dark shade flickered deep in his eyes.

He handed the documents to his assistant then turned around to face Lotley.

“Long time no see, Lotley.”

Lotley, a well-known designer in the fashion circle, was at the height of his popularity before March came onto the scene.

“March, I heard you got married, congratulations,” Lotley said with a hint of mockery as he glanced at the ring on Jian Luo’s hand.

“I couldn’t believe it when I heard it, after all, I never heard about you having a wedding.”

Jian Luo replied coolly, “Is that so? I haven’t heard about you doing fashion shows for so long, I almost thought you had changed your profession and weren’t a designer anymore.”

With just a few words, Lotley’s face suddenly changed color.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving,” Jian Luo said.

As they brushed past each other, Lotley grabbed Jian Luo’s arm and lowered his voice, “March, I really didn’t expect you to have such heavy tastes, marrying a man, heh, you really are bold. So, how comfortable are you relying on that big noble backer of yours?”

Jian Luo’s eyes turned icy in an instant, grasping his wrist, “My courage isn’t just this much. For instance, I could completely kick you out of this circle, or throw you into the slums to stay, I can do it. Would you like to try it, hmm?”

Before the words had even finished, he applied force in his hand and Lotley’s face twisted in pain, gasping for breath.

“Lotley, some people you can’t afford to offend. Stay away from me. If you anger me, I can ruin you and nobody would dare say a word.”

Jian Luo shook off his hand, ignoring the anger in his eyes, and strode away.

Lotley stared at his retreating figure, fire blazing in his eyes.

March, you stole my popularity, my honors. If I can’t have it good, neither can you.

Since you care so much about this fashion show, then I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen.

Lotley clenched his fists, a cunning smile flitting across the depths of his eyes.

Arrogant, conceited bastard, I won’t let this go so easily.

The stage lights flickered, the dazzling array of lights casting the show field into a dreamlike splendor.

Following that, the pleasing melody reverberated across the show field, and the tall, well-proportioned models walked out in an orderly fashion.

Striding in sky-high heels as though on level ground, the latest styles they wore made all the women present green with envy.

Zhan Mingyan was captivated, her face alight with excitement.

“Jian Luo is so talented!”

Hearing his wife praise another man, even if that man was his brother, Bai Jue felt very jealous.

“Wifey, I’m talented too.”

Zhan Mingyan, immersed in the shock of the runway show, waved her hand nonchalantly, “Mm-hmm, you’re talented too; now don’t disturb my watching.”

Bai Jue looked to the sky, speechless.

The show featured not only women’s clothing but also men’s, so Jian Luo was particularly busy backstage, running around non-stop.

In the room where the clothes were kept, a man wearing a mask surreptitiously entered.

“Who are you?” asked Amy, the staff member in charge of watching over the clothes.

“Lotley is looking for you, it seems to be about the clothes,” the man said in a lowered voice.

Amy glanced at his neck badge, then replied, “I’ll go now. Can you watch over this for me? Someone will come to collect the clothes soon; just let them take these ones in the row first.”

The man nodded, “I got it. You go ahead, Lotley is waiting.”

“All right.”

Watching Amy hurry off, a smug smile flickered in the man’s eyes. He carefully looked around the room to ensure there were no cameras, then took out a lighter from his pocket.

Meanwhile

Jian Luo, while drinking water, kept an eye on the ongoing situation on the stage, with Beis standing beside him talking about something.

“Lotley, did you want to see me for something?” Amy ran over in a hurry.

Jian Luo turned to her, “Amy, what’s wrong?”

“Didn’t you need me for something?” Amy asked, confused.

Jian Luo shook his head, “No, I didn’t call you.”

“But just now a staff member came and told me you were looking for me about some clothes,” Amy said.

At her words, Jian Luo’s expression darkened.

This is bad.

He put down his water glass and hurried out.

“What’s going on?” Amy looked at Beis, puzzled.

“Damn, you’ve fallen for a diversion,” Beis said before quickly running out to follow Jian Luo.

“Fire, come on, put out the fire!”

“The fire extinguisher is here, everyone clear the way!”

From a distance, Jian Luo saw the flames reaching sky high from the room, and anger surged through him instantly.

“This…” Beis and Amy, following behind, were stunned.

“Lotley!”

Seeing Jian Luo coming, the staff parted to make way for him.

“What happened?” Jian Luo asked, his voice grave as he watched the fire in the room gradually die down.

“We don’t know what happened exactly; when we passed by, we just saw the fire starting inside,” a staff member holding a fire extinguisher explained.

“Lotley, I’m so sorry, it was my carelessness,” Amy said as her eyes brimmed with tears upon seeing the clothes turned to ashes in the room.

If she hadn’t trusted someone else’s word and walked away, the clothes inside wouldn’t have burned.
