Chapter 594: Chapter 82 Temporarily Concluding
The battle before Jinrui City had become the current focal point of the Star Sea, and Konstant hadn’t declined the broadcasting of the footage. A large number of space Mages were broadcasting the battle live under the directives of their affiliated powers.
Lu Hong was also tense as he watched the grand battle from the second town in the northern border, with his eyes almost constantly locked on Danni.
"Alright, don’t worry, nothing major will happen," Nuoshan said in a calm voice.
"It’s not your woman, so of course, you’re not worried."
"Tai’e will hold back."
"Huh?" Lu Hong was drawn to Nuoshan’s assertion. "How can you be so sure?"
"Tai’e has no intention of annihilating the Human Race’s dynasties," Nuoshan said. "If he truly wanted to destroy humanity, he would’ve already attacked in conjunction with the Naga sea race. Why wait until after the Naga threat had ended before making a move on the Sacred Empire?"
"Then they shouldn’t fight at all!"
"It’s not for you to decide anyway, but Tai’e’s actions this time are quite peculiar. I suspect that he might have colluded with Konstant to set up this situation."
"Setting up a situation?" Lu Hong quickly sought advice from Nuoshan. "Old man, tell me about it."
Nuoshan laughed and began to speak, "This is just my speculation because previously, Konstant had complained to me about those hidden powerhouses in the Star Sea who controlled their own territories."
"So that’s the reason for your speculation?"
"Isn’t that enough?" Nuoshan handed over the intelligence report he was holding to Lu Hong. "This time, Tai’e entered the Human Race’s territory alone, attracting the pursuit of nearly four hundred hidden powerhouses into the Star Sea, all hoping to kill Tai’e and gain fame. These people were the ones who stood by and did nothing when the empire was in trouble, and after they entered the Sacred Grace, there was no further news of them. I suspect that they have been discreetly dealt with by Konstant."
"If it’s a setup by Konstant," Lu Hong digested the words of Duke Nuoshan and started to ponder, then raised his own questions, "then why would Tai’e cooperate with him?"
"I don’t know that. Maybe he has something on Tai’e, forcing him to comply this once," said Nuoshan. "The biggest key to the whole affair is Tai’e’s on-foot journey into the heartland of the Human Race. He is a king, and even with great strength, he can’t put himself in danger, especially someone who has dealt with the Sacred Empire for many years. He understands the foundation of the Human Race better than our Eagle Alliance. Not to mention, with the crisis of the underworld still at hand, he can disregard the threat of the Human Race, but how can he not guard against the hidden dangers of the underworld?"
"So you’re saying that Tai’e must have reached some sort of agreement with Konstant, with Tai’e walking on foot into the human hinterland, luring those hidden powerhouses to act, while Konstant guarantees not to interfere with any actions that might come from the underworld."
"Alright, anyway, I don’t see it," Lu Hong had to admire Nuoshan’s analytical ability, as he would never have made the connections with the intelligence data himself.
"You’ll learn in time." Nuoshan smiled slightly, and the two continued to watch the decisive battle between the seven Tower Masters and Tai’e.
The battle lasted a whole half-month, with both sides fighting tirelessly, a truly astonishing spectacle.
Just as Konstant had planned, as long as no forces breached the agreed-upon level of power, the seven towers would not lose, but they couldn’t win either.
Eventually, the battle came to an abrupt halt due to a war report from the Extreme Demon Abyss.
"Tai’e, you have lost," Konstant declared as he tossed the intelligence report down from the tower, Tai’e repelling the vehement attacks from both Shadow and Red Beard and grabbing the war report in hand.
It read that there had been a great victory in the Extreme Demon Abyss, with thirty-eight thousand nine hundred Beastman troops annihilated and the Abyss successfully captured, requesting empire support for Space Mages to reseal it.
"Hmph!" Tai’e discarded the war report, glancing at the exhausted seven towers, and said in a deep voice, "You got lucky."
With that, Tai’e looked back at Konstant, and though neither spoke, their gazes seemed to communicate something. Moments later, Tai’e stood up and left.
"Don’t stop him; let him go," Konstant instructed the seven towers from intercepting. They were clearly reluctant, but indeed they had no ability to kill Tai’e, so they had to let it be.
A weary Vili opened a teleportation portal, "Let’s go, looks like we’ve been clowns this time."
The silent exchange of glances between Tai’e and Konstant gave him a hint, as he sighed, a bitter smile on his face, disappearing into the portal and leaving Sacred Grace.
The rest of the Tower Masters followed suit, with only Danni looking at Konstant and asking, "Where’s Tukelulu now?"
"He’s in Bo’an, the second town of the Northern Territory of the plane."
"Okay," Danni nodded her head and receded into the teleportation portal, vanishing from sight.
When he arrived, Tai’e left footprints one step at a time, but upon leaving the heartland of the empire, Tai’e traveled tens of thousands of miles in almost a single bound, and many thoughtful individuals also noticed the problem, shaking their heads and commanding their subordinates, "Arrange it, send elite forces to aid the empire unconditionally."
Back in the Beastman Empire, Tai’e recalled the front-line troops. Thus, the grand war of the empire concluded, leaving many puzzled over why it ended so quickly and decisively.
Many ministers of the Beastman Empire jointly petitioned Tai’e to continue the war, insisting that the sacrifices of the soldiers could not be in vain.
Tai’e rejected the petition without so much as a glance.
Seeing their petition rejected, a group of ministers stubbornly gathered outside Tai’e’s study, kneeling in a row, with the posture of kneeling indefinitely until their request was granted.
Tai’e ignored them, and although he was suppressing the Seven Towers in battle, the continuous exertion was taking its toll on him, for he was not a True God, and his strength still had limits.
After resting in the study for a full two days, Tai’e summoned his fox woman servant to his side, "Have the people outside left?"
"Your Majesty, they are still kneeling there, without moving an inch," she replied.
"Tell them to leave!"
The servant nodded, went out for a while, and came back, kneeling before Tai’e and whispering, "Your Majesty, I have tried to persuade them for a long time, but none of the lords are willing to leave..."
Tai’e didn’t say a word, put down the memorial he was holding, and stood up to walk out of the study, his eyes indifferent, speaking to the group of important court officials, "Go back."
"Your Majesty, we pray that you will grant our petition, if..." the leading minister hadn’t finished speaking when he noticed the slight chill emanating from Tai’e’s pupils.
The chief minister was at a loss for words and froze on the spot.
"Leave!"
"Understood! This humble official shall retreat!" said the leader, a bear man of great stature, who found it difficult to even stand up under Tai’e’s pressure and simply rolled away to escape.
Seeing their chief depart, the other ministers were even less inclined to defy Tai’e and hurriedly stood up and left the scene.
Only after leaving the back courtyard of the study did these ministers dare to speak softly to each other.
One of the monkey beastmen gave a long sigh, "What point is there in us kneeling here for two days?"
What’s the point? It was a pointless kneel.
Three days later, Tai’e left the study and headed alone to the Luosheng Dimensional Plane at the border.
At midnight, when it was quiet, a team passed through the portal and arrived at the Beastman border.
This quickly drew the attention of the patrolling border guard, who moved forward to inspect.
At that moment, Tai’e revealed himself before the patrolling beastmen and threw out a golden token.
The captain of the patrol squad knelt immediately upon seeing it, "This lowly one meets you, General sir!"
"Rise, leave this place, and pretend you saw nothing."
Regarding the absolute authority of the Gold Token, the captain of the patrol squad did not hesitate, "This lowly one obeys!"
After sending off the patrol squad, Tai’e stood up and walked toward the spatial rift.
In the silvery moonlight, one could see four strong protectors subduing a burly man, approaching Tai’e.
Arriving before Tai’e, one of the protectors spoke, "Greetings, Orc Emperor. We have brought Barrey as requested."
"Hmm," Tai’e nodded, not saying much more.
The four protectors carefully lifted the suppression on Barrey and retreated cautiously, "Having completed the trade, we shall take our leave now."
Ignoring them, Tai’e turned to Barrey and asked, "What exactly happened in the Extreme Demon Abyss?"
Indeed, what had transpired in the Extreme Demon Abyss, to cause the defeat of a million-strong beastman army so swiftly?
Barrey didn’t express any joy at his narrow escape from death, his face twisted in agony, "Wu Jiang has betrayed us! I thought he would consider the bigger picture!"
"Calm down, and explain slowly."
Soothed by Tai’e, Barrey finally relayed the events of what had occurred within the Extreme Demon Abyss.
