Chapter 560: Chapter 48: Entering the Star Sea

"What kind of transformation?"

Frogo lightly tapped on the table, and the next second the ground beneath their feet began to boil, transforming into a scalding torrent of blood and flesh.

"Do not resist."

Lu Hong looked towards Hua Cai, who gave a slight nod, signaling that everything was fine.

Moments later, the three arrived at a cavern of molten rock, where Frogo’s two major Demigod Demon Beasts, Orochi and Burning Serpent, were resting beside the blood-red lava, their massive bodies almost entirely submerged, absorbing nutrients from it.

"This is the heart of the plane of my Demon race’s ancestral star," Frogo explained to the two. "I discovered this place long ago and began to transform it. This lake of lava has sedimented the essence of my Demon race for a million years. Just by absorbing its power, ascending to godhood is as easy as turning over your hand."

Faced with this enormous temptation, Lu Hong forcibly restrained himself and asked, "With such an opportunity, why wouldn’t the Sacred Ancestor consider it for the Demon race itself?"

"They do not deserve it," Frogo said evenly. "The actions of the Demon race during my years of imprisonment have disgusted me; they have degenerated, losing the glory that a Demon race should have. Lurking, assassinating, dividing, plotting..."

Frogo’s eyes filled with disdain as he spoke further: "They have abandoned dignity and glory. After this great catastrophe, I will reshape the Demon race."

"Aren’t you afraid that I will tell Juefeng and Tao Tian about this?"

Frogo glanced at Hua Cai. "What if you do? Even together, they cannot defeat me."

Well, this guy seemed to have absolute confidence.

Speaking of which, Frogo turned again to Lu Hong. "Young friend, the chance to become a god is right before your eyes; tell me your decision."

Lu Hong shook his head. "I appreciate your kind offer, Sacred Ancestor, but though the opportunity is great, it is not meant for me."

"Are you sure?"

"Sure!"

"Ah!" Frogo sighed. "What a pity."

As the divine eye had no issues and the opportunity was rejected by Lu Hong, staying on the Demon race’s ancestral star had lost its purpose. Thus, Lu Hong politely excused himself.

Frogo did not stop him, watching as the two disappeared into the black starry sky.

"Why didn’t you accept the opportunity Frogo offered?" Hua Cai curiously asked on their way out.

"I always felt that there was something hidden behind his benevolence. The opportunity Frogo offered wasn’t pure."

"You really have sharp instincts!" Hua Cai said. "Frogo’s promise of godhood indeed had no flaws, but the stability of the divine position was uncertain. Of course, even a lesser celestial deity is still a deity. However, if you had accepted his goodwill, you would have been transformed by the accumulated essence of the ancestral star into a Demon, becoming the first of his envisioned new Demon race."

So, Frogo had valued Lu Hong and wanted to snatch him away from War God and make him his own pawn.

"Why didn’t you tell me then?"

"You had already refused. If you had succumbed to the temptation and accepted the opportunity, my reminder would have been useless." Hua Cai said cheerfully, "Besides, becoming a Demon is not necessarily a bad thing. They are naturally strong and capable of living in harsh environments like the Dead Zone, which surely has its unique advantages."

"Forget it, I’m better off remaining human," Lu Hong twisted his neck. "Can we change our position? Holding my neck like this is a bit uncomfortable."

"Just how fussy you are under the starry sky. I can’t restore divine power here, so carrying you conserves every bit of energy I might need. If my divine power were to be exhausted here in the Dead Zone, we would undoubtedly die."

"Can we switch then, and I carry you?"

"Haha!" Hua Cai scoffed. "You pervert!"

With her rich experience, Hua Cai skillfully avoided all the dangers of the Death Zone, and Lu Hong hardly felt the threats. After a journey of half a year without sleep or rest, the two finally left the starry sky and reached the border of the Eagle Alliance.

"Where’s the nearest plane?" In order to ensure Lu Hong wasn’t eroded by the strange forces of the Death Zone, Hua Cai spared no effort in protecting him, which was draining. They needed to find a plane to rest temporarily.

"That direction, not far away is a plane called Raoxue."

"Raoxue?" Hua Cai seemed to recall this name. "Originally, my Elf race had built a large teleportation array there for extra long-distance transmission. I don’t know if the array can still be activated now, but if it can, it will shorten our journey into the Divine Grace significantly."

"Um..." Lu Hong hesitated. "By the way, can you fix teleportation gates?"

"Fix? I can fix ordinary teleportation gates, but if it’s a super-large one that’s broken, I definitely can’t fix it, since I don’t specialize in space magic."

Hua Cai looked at Lu Hong strangely. "Why do you ask? Did you break the super-large teleportation gate at the Raoxue plane?"

"Sort of," Lu Hong said awkwardly. "Lei Shan wanted to use this teleportation gate to attack the Sacred Empire, so I destroyed it."

"What level were you at that time?"

"Second Transition."

"Then no worries, just Second Transition, how could you possibly destroy an ancient relic of my elf race?"

"Alright, let’s go have a look."

Chatting along the way, the two arrived at the border of the Eagle Alliance’s Snowy Region.

The place was the same as when he first came here, with only one city, and Qing Ling was not there.

"Shall we go into the city?"

Hua Cai shook her head. In her perception, there was nothing in the city, and the sparse population of this dimension could easily lead to unnecessary misunderstandings if they suddenly appeared.

"Don’t worry, I’m very familiar with the owner here. I’ll take you to stay at the castle," said Lu Hong, leading Hua Cai into the city.

Revisiting the familiar place, the residents of Raoxue City initially stared in surprise at the outsiders, then seemed to remember something, and exclaimed, "Is it... is it the Champion Lord? It’s the Champion Lord!"

A shout disturbed many of the city’s residents.

A large number of residents swarmed into the streets, excitedly looking at Lu Hong: "It really is Lord Champion!"

Kaif stepped out from the crowd, bringing his son to Lu Hong and knelt on one knee: "Greetings, Lord Champion!"

"Rise, I’m only here in Raoxue to rest for a bit, and I’ll be leaving in a couple of days."

Kaif dispersed the crowd and ushered the two into Qing Ling’s castle.

The place was very clean, maintained by the butler. Seeing Lu Hong, the butler was very pleased until he saw the woman standing beside him, which visibly changed his expression.

He picked up a broom and chased Lu Hong away: "Go on, go on, Raoxue Castle does not welcome you!"

"Hey, old fellow, we’ve worked together after all. Considering my close relationship with your young lady, you’re really asking me to leave?"

"Hmph! You know how the young lady feels about you, yet you dare to flirt around outside. What’s worst is you even bring another woman to the young lady’s home, are you even human?!"

"I...I..."

Lu Hong, rendered speechless, stood there as Weiwei giggled beside him.

"Okay, okay, I’ll just stay for a couple of days. Tell me, has anything big happened in the Star Sea lately?" Lu Hong wasn’t in the mood to argue, snatching the broom and tossing it aside.

The old butler wouldn’t really drive Lu Hong away, and welcomed him in, offering tea and cautioning, "This is the young lady’s home, do not mess around here!"

"I’m asking you something serious!"

The old butler pursed his lips: "Raoxue dimension is isolated, almost completely cut off from the outside world. How would I know what’s happening in the Star Sea?"

"Not even a little bit?"

"That’s not true." The old butler reminisced: "Two years ago, when the Holy Court sent supplies, I chatted with them. They mentioned that a tremendous war broke out involving the Sacred Empire, Snowy Region, and the Beastman Empire."

"And the outcome?!" Lu Hong was very anxious upon hearing this news.

"How would I know? That’s all I heard. If you really want to find out, go see Duke Bacon." The old butler pointed toward a side room with a twin mirror: "Just cross dimensions, though you’ll have to figure out the Crystal Stones required, I don’t have any stock."

Lu Hong looked at Hua Cai: "Shall we rest in the next dimension? I want to know the latest news about the Star Sea as soon as possible."

"Okay." Hua Cai didn’t refuse, standing up and following Lu Hong to the twin mirror of the Raoxue family.

"Can you activate it?"

"Nonsense!" Hua Cai rolled her eyes: "Such basic stuff, how could I not know how to use it?"

As she infused Divine Power into it, the two directly arrived at the Jiliyaxi dimension.

It was still the familiar orchard, but this time no one chased after Lu Hong.
