Soldiers clad in red armor stormed into the inn, violently ransacking the great hall and, upon seeing the proprietor descend the stairs, immediately seized him and dragged him before a petty leader.

The petty leader glanced at the innkeeper, "You are the owner here?"

"Military...Lords, I am indeed," the innkeeper replied, forcing a smile but inwardly terrified.

"His Highness Prince Qin’s favorite jade bracelet has been stolen by a villain and we have been specially ordered to search for it. Have you seen any unfamiliar faces around here?"

"Responding to...the military lord," the innkeeper was extremely nervous, but took a deep breath, "There hasn’t been any unfamiliar face here, and didn’t Prince Qin have an agreement with His Majesty that during the hunting season, no entry into residents’ homes is allowed? I don’t understand why..."

Before the innkeeper could finish, the petty leader slapped him across the face so hard that the innkeeper spat out blood-stained teeth.

"What?!" The innkeeper, scared out of his wits, wept bitterly, "My lord...I am wronged!"

"Still trying to deny it!" The petty leader drew his long sword and slashed towards the innkeeper’s head.

At that moment, a cold snort came from the stairwell, and the soldiers staggered as if struck, falling to the ground.

Lu Hong, with a somber expression, said, "Taking life so lightly, is this how you serve as soldiers?"

"You?!" The petty leader was shocked and furious, "You are the thief?"

Then looking again at the innkeeper, he said, "Ah, so you really are in league with the thief. You all deserve to die! You all deserve to die!" Crushing the token in his hand, he said to Lu Hong, "You will not escape. His Highness Prince Qin will have you torn into ten thousand pieces!"

Lu Hong chuckled, "I’m waiting."

After that, he ignored the soldiers and helped the innkeeper up, "Are you alright?" while channeling his energy to ease the swelling on his cheek.

"Why did you come downstairs? Leave quickly before Prince Qin arrives!"

Lu Hong shook his head, "Since I happened to pass by and encountered such an incident, I must intervene. What is Prince Qin anyway? The Luofte Emperor does not bother with certain matters, but I will handle them, and whoever he does not wish to kill, I will kill!"

"Such arrogance!" The petty leader sneered, "The last person who said such things was flayed by His Highness Prince Qin and left to dry under the sun for three days and nights before he finally died. I hope you last a few days longer."

Lu Hong did not strike the soldiers directly. He intended to wait for Prince Qin and deal with everything at once.

Signal received, Prince Qin arrived swiftly, and within only half the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, tens of thousands of cavalry had firmly surrounded the inn.

"Ha ha ha, ha ha ha!" Hearing Lu Hong’s response, Prince Qin laughed heartily and then beckoned. A chunk of flesh, its limbs severed and head encased in an iron shackle, was dragged forward.

"I’ve grown tired of this pet and was wondering what to exchange for. Given your appearance, you’d make a fine new pet."

With those words, he speared the man’s heart.

Lu Hong did not intervene, knowing even if he saved the valiant man, he could not restore his limbs; death was likely a release for him.

Watching the righteous man slowly close his eyes, Lu Hong’s anger could not be subdued any longer, "You have just added another reason for your own demise."

The King of Qin should have run, after all, he wasn’t a fool, but he had always carried himself with pride and accustomed to invincibility, arrogance stemming from the depths of his heart.

"You must have used some sort of Sorcery, but no matter, I will uncover your secret," he said as he charged at Lu Hong with a lance in hand.

Lu Hong raised his hand to block, the immense force of the recoil making the King of Qin stagger backward, his warhorse bursting beneath him.

Falling to the ground, the King of Qin finally sensed something was off. "You... you... you you?!"

Lu Hong strode toward him, the King of Qin quickly got up and activated his skills, attacking Lu Hong once more.

But Lu Hong swung a punch, instantly causing the King of Qin’s lance to explode, his arms along with it, rendered useless.

The King of Qin, now armless, tasted true fear for the first time, retreating incessantly, trying to get away from Lu Hong.

"Why are you hiding, o mighty King of Qin, what’s wrong with you today? How do you look right now?" Lu Hong coldly sneered, "The people you killed before, did they look like you do now?"

"I am the brother of the current Emperor of the Luofte Dynasty, you can’t kill me!" The King of Qin wailed, "If you kill me, my brother will surely have your entire family executed!"

At this moment, those citizens who had been hiding in their houses and dared not go outside saw this scene through their windows and mustered the courage to walk onto the streets.
