Chapter 505: Chapter 259: The Return of the Seven Realms, The Last Days of the Sea Clan (Part 1)
Returning to the Continent of God’s Grace, the seven Tower Masters were not in a hurry, as they all needed time to heal their wounds and restore their magic power after the great battle, the full extent of which they had yet to witness.
Consequently, the starship battlecruiser belonging to the Liu Family from the east had become an excellent mode of transportation, forcibly conscripted by the Brahmins.
Luo Lu naturally did not object, as the Empire had always held a disdainful attitude towards starships, a contraption developed by the Eagle Alliance, and the various powers of the Empire had never built such weapons of war. The Liu Family was the first to incorporate its construction and research into their military arsenal, and for this very reason, the family had been subjected to much ridicule from many other clan forces. Even Konstantin had issued a decree scolding the Duke of Liu for losing his ambition to toys.
Now, with the Empire’s seven Tower Masters, along with the currently prominent Baron Yi Tian all aboard, the starship was getting quite the publicity boost.
Luo Lu was able to prioritize important matters; he personally went to assist the armies in the Fruit Hard plane, while the battlecruiser was entrusted to his deputy, who was ordered to dutifully serve these lords and ensure their safe return to the Continent of God’s Grace, with meticulous care.
Therefore, the fine wines and delicacies from Luo Lu’s collection were all brought out by the deputy to honor the eight of them.
Sitting cozily around a warm fire, the eight people lounged lazily on soft sofas. Lu Hong shamelessly cuddled into Danni’s arms, and after several unsuccessful attempts to push him away, Danni simply let him be.
As everyone chatted casually, Lu Hong asked Brahman, "How did you figure out that Danni was in Fruit Hard?"
"Heh heh," Brahman stood up, his hands behind his back, "It’s the intuition of a strong person. You wouldn’t understand."
Lu Hong’s face fell as he cursed, "If you don’t start speaking properly, do you believe that I’ll have Old Wang beat you to death?"
"Uhh,,,,," Brahman sat down resentfully and said, "It’s nothing much, just logical deductions based on the situation."
With that, Brahman pointed to Vili and explained, "This guy here is an expert in spatial matters. Even when he was gravely injured and near death, he could still lead them out of traps and contend with their pursuers. How could they suddenly have been exposed and ambushed in Gold?"
"Hey hey!" Seeing Brahman only praising Vili, the Master of the Black Tower became unhappy, "My role was certainly no less critical."
"Don’t rush," Brahman said with a smile. "Couple that with one of the Star Sea’s top assassination experts, what trap could escape his intuition?"
"So you figured that the battle in Gold was a signal sent by Danni and the others?" Lu Hong felt some understanding, then asked, "But how did you determine that Fruit Hard was the designated meeting place?"
"Because there are the fewest people there," Danni said with a slight smile. "Fruit Hard, near Gold, has a sparse population, and the Liu Family’s forces had stationed some troops there, driving out even more of the original residents, making it very suitable for battle."
"No wonder," Lu Hong nodded, realizing he hadn’t thought of that.
"Not just that," Vili said with a slight smile. "This was also part of the Dawn Church’s scheme; they considered themselves strong enough, wanting to eliminate all seven Towers at once. Presumably, as soon as Brahman went on his way back to the Empire, they got word and relaxed their pursuit of us.
"We were each calculating against the other: they thought they could catch all the Tower Masters in one swoop, and we believed that if the seven Towers combined, they were bound to fail."
"You guys, that’s kind of a gamble!"
"Yes," Bai Po nodded. "We had to take the risk; we couldn’t be hounded by them forever. Initially, I was worried whether Brahman could bring back Su Yu. If Su Yu wasn’t there, the six of us might indeed have perished."
"Yeah!" Red Beard looked towards the Master of the Blue Tower, Su Yu, and softly said, "You... how have you been recently?"
"Yes," Su Yu nodded, her haughtiness gone.
Meanwhile, the Master of the Black Tower focused on her, "Now, you owe everyone here an explanation, right?"
Su Yu didn’t speak directly but looked towards Lu Hong.
Danni understood her meaning: "He’s not an outsider."
"Alright," Su Yu nodded, "I gave the Divine Blood to a demonic power—the Council of Searing Flames."
"Demonic?!"
As soon as these words came out, everyone’s expression changed, but Brahman looked as though he finally understood, "No wonder, no wonder they were so eager to launch an invasion against the Eagle Alliance."
With this, one line of events finally became clear.
The demons originally had three Holy Ancestors, one of whom was imprisoned in the wilderness, while the remaining two Holy Ancestors stayed out of worldly affairs. The Heavenly Gods of the demons lacked ambition, but that didn’t mean the strong ones beneath them were not covetous. The living environment for the demons was harsh, and their longing for the beautiful and comfortable environment of the Star Sea wasn’t something that could be explained in a few thousand words. Still, they ultimately feared a united front from the powers of the Star Sea. However, once they took the Divine Blood, it meant that a belligerent Heavenly God might appear at any moment, prompting the demons to act. This action, however, was promptly suppressed by the Great Bright Heavenly God who called for a meeting with the Holy Ancestor of the demons, thus completely thwarting their plans.
"Why did you give the Divine Blood to the demons?" Red Beard frowned, utterly baffled.
Su Yu tried to speak twice but didn’t manage to say anything, finally sighing, "My child is in their hands."
"Child?!" Red Beard sprang from the sofa, "When did you marry someone?!"
"It was... something from my younger days, please don’t ask about it, okay?" Su Yu did not want to dwell on this topic at the moment.
"But that’s not right. Before you received the Tower Master’s inheritance, if you were pregnant, how could the previous Tower Master pass it on to you?" Red Beard was relentless. The Master of the Blue Tower valued purity; whether a Tower Master had given birth was something that could be seen at a glance. Even if Su Yu had hidden it, she couldn’t have escaped the former Tower Master’s discerning eye.
