Chapter 477: Chapter 230: Suppressing the Heretics (Part One)

Seven days later, with Aragon’s help, Augustus had fully recovered from his injuries, and thus the counterattack from the Warriors’ Path officially began.

At this time, the fifth barrier, following Li Rong’s forcible removal by Ming Ling, had lost its leader, and most of the people from the Wild Gods’ Path had withdrawn. However, Li Rong’s second brother, also the second-in-command of the Wild Gods’ Path, refused to leave. He gathered nearly two hundred strong individuals and still held their ground in the Warriors’ Path, vowing to wash the Warriors’ Path with blood to avenge his brothers.

But with the withdrawal of most members of the Wild Gods’ Path, the Extreme Cold Temple and the Ten Thousand Mothers Temple quietly invaded, completely encircling the second brother’s forces.

"Tie Shilan, Yu Lang, you are not staying in the sixth barrier; what are you doing meddling in my Wild Gods’ Path territory?" the second brother asked, fearless of the two formidable figures, striding forward to within an arrow’s shot of them.

"Song Rongwei, Li Rong has left, shouldn’t you follow your master and leave as well?" Yu Lang said with a laugh. "Many strong members of the Wild Gods’ Path have gone, making it unsuitable for you to continue guarding this barrier. Therefore, Tie Shilan and I have decided to help you take over this place. I hope you can cooperate."

"Cooperate?" the second brother scoffed. "It has not even been three months since the alliance of ten paths, and you want to go back on your word?"

"Song Rongwei, we are speaking to you nicely; don’t make us force you," Tie Shilan said indifferently, showing disdain for the second master of the Wild Gods’ Path.

Upon Tie Shilan’s words, the second brother retorted, "I guessed the Ten Thousand Mothers Temple would be treacherous, but I didn’t expect the Extreme Cold Temple to be sluts too."

"How dare you!" Tie Shilan shouted angrily, summoning layers of ice crystals that fiercely attacked the second brother.

The distance between them was very close; the attack occurred in an instant. However, the second brother was prepared. As Tie Shilan launched her attack, he activated his Demon Beast space, and a giant Magma Demon Snake emerged, spewing molten lava that dissolved the incoming ice crystals.

The Extreme Cold Temple was initially female-dominated. With the first batch of powerful individuals entering the Divine Path, a female strong contender organized and established her power base, admitting only female trialists. Initially, the aim was self-protection, but as their power grew, their goals shifted. Thirty years ago, they launched a purge, expelling all male trialists from the Extreme Cold Divine Path. Since then, only women could enter, making it a bona fide female alliance stronghold. Tie Shilan was the third in command of this alliance, arrogant by nature. For her, the second brother’s provocation was a capital offense, warranting certain death.

Facing the second brother who summoned a Fire-type Demon Beast that countered her ice skills, Tie Shilan was not afraid. "You think this beast alone can take me down?"

"Of course not," the second brother shook his head, continuing, "One won’t suffice, but what about a hundred, or two hundred?"

As his statement ended, a hundred mighty individuals behind him each opened their own Demon Beast spaces, and countless Fire-type Demon Beasts stepped out, the heat waves they generated nearly scorching the air.

"Tie Shilan," she said, her expression unchanged, "Yu Lang, it’s your turn."

Yu Lang, inwardly very annoyed by this woman’s commanding tone as if he were her servant at her beck and call from the Ten Thousand Mothers Temple, begrudgingly obliged to confront the second brother of the Wild Gods’ Path.

The Wild Gods’ Path was inherently powerful, all thanks to their occupation—the Beast King.

Even if it was the second brother, who fully opened the Demon Beast space and released a hundred Demon Beasts, both Tie Shilan and Yu Lang would have to expend much effort to deal with it, not to mention that their opponent was a master of secret techniques, unknown which ones, and not to be underestimated.

Every Beast King of the Wild Gods’ Path could combat enemies two to three times their own strength, and even now faced with the siege of the Extreme Cold Temple and the Ten Thousand Mothers Temple, they remained undaunted.

Just then, three figures appeared in the sky, rapidly closing in on them.

Tie Shilan waved her sleeve, and a blizzard roared down.

Yet the opponents did not even move, and the oncoming skills vanished into thin air.

Shocked, Tie Shilan quickly mobilized her magic power to raise a protective shield: "All sisters, defend!"

Before the words fell, the earlier blizzard crashed down on the people of the Extreme Cold Temple, but they were prepared and suffered no casualties.

Yu Lang removed the earthen wall protecting himself, his face stern, staring intently at the opponent, "Augustus?!"

"It’s me." Augustus glanced over the battlefield, seeming to understand something, then smilingly said, "Dog fight, gathered together, which is good, saves me the trouble of finding each of you individually."

"Have you recovered already?" Tie Shilan and Yu Lang had a deep impression of Augustus. They were part of that ambush too, though they supported from the periphery and did not confront him directly. Still, they were very wary of Augustus, for in that battle, hundreds of top fighters from the Divine Paths ambushed him; they failed to kill him but sustained nearly twenty heavy casualties themselves, a tremendously huge loss.

"I remember you," Augustus spoke. "That day, you were maneuvering at the periphery."

He pointed at Tie Shilan, "You seem to have been slapped by me."

Then he pointed to Yu Lang, "And it was you who blocked my way, kicked by me, right?"

Hearing Augustus’s words, the second brother burst into laughter, "So you two are also incompetent, unable to even block his moves."

"So, what of it?" Tie Shilan’s face was grim as the underling, her own scandals exposed, felt her lungs might explode with fury. Had this been before, she would have slaughtered her adversary without hesitation, but Augustus was different; she was no match for him.

The moment Yu Lang saw Augustus, he had already planned his escape. Then, as Tie Shilan distracted their opponent, Yu Lang swiftly burrowed underground, disappearing from everyone’s sight.

The sudden turn of events even stunned the other potentates of the Ten Thousand Mothers Temple. What happened? Did their leader just abandon them and flee?

Just as Augustus was about to intercept, a surge of blood light soared into the sky and heavily smashed a thousand meters away.

The blood light pierced the ground, forcing the escaping Yu Lang out of the ground.

Augustus seized this opportunity and flashed beside the opponent.

Yu Lang, terrified, looked at Augustus in front of him. Before he could activate his skill, Augustus had already grasped his throat and lifted him.

The force of the space flowed through his palm into the opponent’s body, interrupting the skill Yu Lang was brewing.

"Let’s start with you then," said Augustus, exerting a slight force, and with a crack, Yu Lang breathed no more.

After tossing aside the body, Augustus flickered back to his original position, his movements smooth and effortless, executing the kill with ease.

Even Lu Hong couldn’t help feeling a bit jealous; space skills were indeed useful.

Aragon, closely observing the move Augustus just displayed, whispered in Lu Hong’s ear, "Big brother is quite impressive. His mastery of the space skill was flawless. Besides, his training in both physical strength and close-combat magic makes him unbeatable."

"Can you beat him?" Lu Hong couldn’t help but ask, curious.

"I don’t know; I have to actually fight him to find out." Clearly, Aragon had strong confidence in his own abilities. Although Augustus was powerful, he believed he also had means to counter and wouldn’t be too passive.

Er Ye hadn’t participated in the siege against Augustus and his impression of him remained at the level of being hunted by Wu Ye. Anyone who could be hunted down by his brother couldn’t be that formidable.

The recent maneuver made him profoundly regretful. As a Beast King relying solely on Demon Beasts for survival, Augustus’s precise flickering and single-handed throat-crushing was nothing short of a nemesis for his profession. How could he fight that? Unless he could obtain a half-demon beast body like Li Rong to overpower the opponent with sheer strength, or manage to catch a few spatial-species Demon Beasts as bodyguards.

Ignoring the change in Er Ye’s expression, Augustus turned to Tie Shilan and said, "Your turn now."

"No, you can’t kill me, you can’t!" Tie Shilan exclaimed in shock, hurriedly channeling her magic power and conjuring layers of solid ice around herself for protection.

The ice provided strong defense, but it also immobilized her, leaving her to only watch as Augustus walked towards her step by step.

Calmly watching Tie Shilan within the ice, Augustus softly spoke, "The third brother was right, once you make your move against yourself, you are an enemy, and must be killed!"

After finishing his sentence, he punched the ice. He then turned and walked back to Aragon and Lu Hong.

Noticing that Augustus’s punch didn’t shatter the ice, Tie Shilan instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

Lu Hong laughingly teased, "Big brother, that won’t do! You couldn’t even break a piece of ice."

"Don’t rush; didn’t you want to see the ’Overturning Seas’ technique? Don’t blink, watch carefully."

Following Augustus’s hint, Lu Hong stared intently at the ice in front of Tie Shilan. In the span of a breath, the ice slightly trembled and then shattered into a myriad of ice crystals.

Tie Shilan, caught within it, also froze. She felt as if... as if...

A breeze blew by, and Tie Shilan dispersed like powder with the wind, leaving no trace behind.

"What the fuck?!" Lu Hong completely failed to comprehend.

Aragon, observing the transformation of Tie Shilan, couldn’t help but change his expression. He hadn’t bypassed the ninth level himself, nor had he tried to train in this boxing technique. He had never anticipated such an unpredictable and bizarre power; perhaps due to a talent issue, Aragon was destined not to master this boxing technique. However, he wasn’t jealous since everyone had their own opportunities.

"Do you want to learn?" Augustus asked Lu Hong.

"I do, big brother, will you teach me?"

"Can’t teach, but if you accompany me back to the ninth level, I will give you some tips. To fully learn the specific moves, you have to enter the ninth level yourself."
