Chapter 337 - 92 Bai Ling

Chapter 337: Chapter 92 Bai Ling

Arriving at the residence, Lu Hong pushed open the great doors, and a graceful silhouette entered his view.

"You’ve arrived." A voice called out softly, like the sound of nature.

"Who are you?" Lu Hong’s expression was stern, and he dared not step into the house for quite some time, as the other seemed to have anticipated his arrival.

"This is the person I mentioned during the day, I didn’t expect she would be waiting here for you."

Damn it! Lu Hong felt a sense of resignation in his heart; it seemed he had been targeted by the other party, and even if he hadn’t come here, they would have found him.

"Do you have any memory of this woman?" Lu Hong asked inwardly.

Before the Holy King could answer, the woman spoke, "Holy King, please, come out as well, it’s been a very long time... I haven’t had the chance to admire your grace."

"You know me?" The bronze greatsword flew out of the Space Ring, hovering in mid-air, and the likeness of the Holy King materialized, staring intently at the woman before him: "But I don’t recognize you."

The woman smiled faintly, "Of course you don’t know me, when you were still seated at the Holy Court, I was but an infant in my father’s arms."

"You even bestowed upon me the name Bai Ling, you surely haven’t forgotten that, have you?"

"Bai Ling... Bai Ling..." The Holy King’s eyes burst with an unusual light: "You are Bai Yunfei’s daughter?!"

"Indeed, it is I, the humble girl." Bai Ling smiled and bowed again to the Holy King.

"Hahaha, hahaha!" It was rare for the Holy King to meet the child of an old friend, and he seemed very excited.

We won’t dwell on their casual conversation here, but not long after, the Holy King steered the conversation back on track: "I see your Holy Light is ailing within you, what exactly happened to make you live over ten thousand years?"

Bai Ling also sighed lightly: "After Your Excellency killed the second and third generation Holy Kings, the residence was sealed, and the inheritance of Holy Light suddenly broke. My father died without being able to continue the disrupted Holy Light, thus entrusting this heavy responsibility to me. But is the mystery of Holy Light something that we mortals could easily explore? After numerous forbidden experiments, the Holy Light within me changed subtly. Though it appears normal, it has indeed undergone some strange transformations, keeping me alive for ten thousand years, surviving until today."

"What other changes have occurred?" The Holy King asked with a furrowed brow, determined to help his disciple’s daughter heal.

"Extreme Bloodthirst," Bai Ling lamented, "Initially, I hadn’t realized this abnormality within me, but the characteristics of bloodlust became evident. During a conflict with my mother, I accidentally killed her, and only then was I awakened to the truth."

Bai Ling continued, "The Star Sea is the last territory preserved by our Holy Court; in reality, it is also the cage built for me. This place forbids killing to prevent awakening my desire for slaughter. I have been cultivating in front of your residence for ten thousand years, and the anomaly in the garden ahead is the result of these plants being influenced by my Holy Light over the years."

"What exactly did you alter within the Holy Light?" Even the Holy King felt surprised.

Bai Ling shook her head with a bitter smile: "I have conducted too many experiments to pinpoint which one changed the essence of the Holy Light."

"Activate your Holy Light, let me see." The Holy King requested, furrowing his brow, as he wished to personally feel the nature of her Holy Light.

As Bai Ling dispersed her Magic Power, under the moonlit night, a purple-black halo slowly spread out.

The Holy King’s eyes widened in shock: "This... this is...?"

Lu Hong also felt a familiar sensation towards this power: "Demonic Qi?!"

Indeed, it was Demonic Qi!

The Holy King’s tone was grave: "It was the demons from the realm of death who stealthily tampered with your experiments, transforming your research on Holy Light into an experiment that fused Demonic Qi with the power of Holy Light!"

When the Holy King revealed the truth, looking back at Bai Ling, there was not the slightest hint of surprise, just extreme calmness.

Lu Hong sensed trouble and quickly started to retreat.

The Holy King, sharp as ever, immediately realized what was amiss: "You knew about this?"

Bai Ling gave a cold smile: "The Holy King is truly formidable, discerning the intrigue at a glance, what a pity that the lies I painstakingly crafted were utterly useless."

"How audacious!" The Holy King chastised angrily: "You’ve actually sided with the demonic race!"

"Hahaha, hahaha!" Bai Ling laughed maniacally: "The demonic race has a Heavenly God, a real and tangible Heavenly God, but what do we, the Human Race, have? Apart from worshiping statues all our lives, we attain nothing. Under this Star Sea, we struggle miserably to cling to life, an existence of utter pathos."

"You betray the Human Race and side with the Demons, yet you have the gall to spout such nonsense here!"

Facing the condemnation from the Holy King, Bai Ling also revealed his true colors with a sinister voice, "Since Nong Hua told me about the manifestation of the Immaculate Holy Light, I knew you weren’t dead. But I really didn’t want to conflict with you, unfortunately, I’ve searched all the records here and have not found a way to cure myself. Therefore, I still have to impose on you, Your Excellency the Holy King, to become my nourishment!"

No sooner had his words fallen than Bai Ling’s gaunt arm reached out from his sleeve, grabbing towards the bronze greatsword.

"Big Brother, save me!" Terrified to the point of nearly having his soul shattered, the Holy King knew Bai Ling had lived for ten thousand years—his strength absolutely crushing all beings. He might not have feared him at his peak, but now he was merely a sliver of a remnant soul, how could he fight her?

"Don’t call for me!" Lu Hong’s scalp went numb too, wishing he hadn’t come.

The Holy King hastily channeled his greatsword into the hands of Lu Hong, who, in alarm, quickly discarded it. Yet, as if the greatsword had eyes, it flew back to him.

"I really don’t want this," Lu Hong said with a mournful face to Bai Ling, "It’s moving towards me on its own."

Bai Ling’s eyes were cold and distant, "You must be Lu Hong that Nong Hua mentioned, the lucky young man. Nong Hua promised to keep you safe, and I don’t wish to go against my disciple’s wishes. Just hand over the Holy King’s soul, and I will let you go."

"Take it away quickly," Lu Hong said without hesitation, tossing the greatsword towards Bai Ling in the dwelling. But, to his surprise, the bronze greatsword altered its trajectory midair and once again returned to Lu Hong’s side.

"So be it, I’ll retrieve it myself." With that, Bai Ling stepped forward, his skeletal arm wreathed in purple-black Demonic Qi, wrapping around the bronze greatsword.

"You can’t escape. Today you will become my Bloodthirst feed, make up for the path of Holy Light, thoroughly merge with Demonic Qi, and from this moment on, I will cross the Third Transition, reaching the Heavenly God Realm!"

"In your dreams!" the Holy King shouted. The moment Bai Ling stepped forward, an invisible wall materialized out of nowhere. Bai Ling, completely unprepared, crashed into it full tilt and tumbled to the ground in a disheveled heap.

"Hahaha, you fell for it, didn’t you?" the Holy King laughed. "This is my residence, full of countless hidden mechanisms. Would I have this kid accompany me on a night visit here without some confidence?"

"No, but can she be trapped?" Lu Hong weakly interjected, "Shouldn’t we hurry and run?"

"Don’t worry, the power of my Holy Light barrier is strong. Unless she is the Heavenly God reincarnate, she can’t break through this barrier. She only has to die trapped in it," the Holy King said with prideful laughter. "Still want to eat me? Keep dreaming! Did your father ever teach you like that?"

"You have no right to speak of my father!" Bai Ling’s voice cut like ice. "He was mortally wounded by you, which is why he died prematurely."

"Uh...," the Holy King faltered, clearly embarrassed. "That’s old news from years ago, why bring it up?"

But it was you who first mentioned her father! Lu Hong shot the Holy King a glance, but then returned to the matter at hand, "I mean, she’s trapped inside, and what about the stuff I want to get?"

"Seems like it," the Holy King nodded, then added, "Oh well, no matter. I remember I’ve buried a few treasures here. I’ll guide you to retrieve them later."

"Shall we go now?" Lu Hong suggested.

"Sure."

The back-and-forth between the two completely disregarded Bai Ling, infuriating her to the point where she erupted with Magic Power, "I refuse to believe I can’t break through this damn barrier!"

With a violent roar, the entire Star Sea Realm emitted a groan of unbearable strain.

Lu Hong was flung a hundred meters away, blood streaming from his seven orifices, nearly fainting.

The Holy King fared no better. Although as a soul he couldn’t bleed, his condensed soul body dissipated quite a bit, clearly having sustained serious injury.

With a piercing shriek, a second surge exploded. Centered around the great hall of Star Sea, the ground fractured, and innumerable strands of Demonic Qi spread from beneath the earth. Evidently, beneath the great hall of Star Sea was Bai Ling’s base for experimenting with Holy Light and also the place for cultivating and refining Demonic Qi.

"Run... run!" the Holy King strained to speak. Lu Hong, suppressing his discomfort, grabbed the bronze greatsword and retreated rapidly.

"Are you sure the barrier can imprison her?" Having witnessed Bai Ling’s true power, Lu Hong’s worries resurfaced.

"I... am not sure anymore," the Holy King weakly replied. "She is strong, too exaggerated to be able to shake the power of a realm. The barrier has its limits; in about seven days, that madwoman will break out."

Lu Hong’s face turned pale. If Bai Ling escaped, it was certain she would hunt him and the Holy King down.

No matter what, he must first flee back to the seven floating worlds. If a real battle ensued, the four great Dukes could take the brunt.

But at the exit to the back courtyard, Nong Hua blocked the way with a calm face, unshakable in expression, while Anna was held down at his right hand, unable to move.

Lu Hong’s expression darkened, "Nong Hua, what do you intend to do!"
