Chapter 246: Chapter 5: Arrival at Umbra

"You must tell me if anything happens, understand?" Lu Hong muttered while straightening out Weiwei’s slightly dirty and disheveled clothes. "If it weren’t for my visit, I don’t know how much more humiliation you would have suffered."

"I just didn’t want to trouble you," Weiwei spoke softly, marveling at how formidable her seemingly foolish brother turned out to be.

"Fine, if anything happens, you go to this big sister over here, understand?" Lu Hong turned to look at Danni.

Danni said, "Did you come here just to see her?"

Well, Lando hadn’t lied. Danni was indeed a stubborn woman.

Lu Hong smiled and said, "I came to see you too. Knowing how hard you’ve been working, I decided to come over without informing you in advance."

"Hmm, your timing is quite fortunate. I was just about to leave," Danni said with a hint of blush, turning her head away, unable to look directly at Lu Hong.

"What’s the matter? Has something big happened?" Lu Hong asked curiously.

"Traces of Su Yu have been discovered, and now all the major powers are hunting her down," Danni started. "Although she is a Tower Master, she was seriously injured previously in the Endless Forest. With her traces revealed, it’s very likely that this might be her end."

"So, are you going to help, or?"

"Of course, to help," Danni gave Lu Hong a look. "The seven Tower Masters each have responsibilities towards the empire. The stability of the North relies greatly on the Ice Snow Shrine. If Su Yu were to die, setting aside the issue of the Tower Masters’ succession, the Shrine would fall into chaos, and it could potentially become an enemy of the empire."

"Are you going alone? Is it safe?" Lu Hong asked. "There must be many people after her, right?"

"Vili has also agreed to go and mediate, and the Master of the Black Tower, Absolute Shadow, will be there as well," Danni continued. "I truly wonder what Su Yu is thinking, having the opportunity to share the Divine Blood, yet insisting on keeping it to herself."

"Maybe the Divine Blood isn’t with her anymore," Lu Hong stroked his chin, theorizing. "If she really hoarded the Divine Blood to ascend to deity alone, she would undoubtedly hide in a secluded place to comprehend its mysteries, not allowing herself to be discovered."

"You’re right," Danni nodded. "That’s my concern as well. If she still had the Divine Blood on her, her chances of survival would be higher. Us three Tower Masters wouldn’t have to rush after her. My fear is that the Divine Blood has already been transferred. If these powerhouses can’t find the Divine Blood, they will undoubtedly take out their frustration on her."

"Then, considering all of you are some of the strongest in the Star Sea, how many people can actually stand against you?"

Danni shook her head, "There are too many. There are many hidden powerhouses. Although we’re honored as Tower Masters, we also bear too many worldly burdens, while those true Third Transition late-stage wanderers, having found sufficient resources, often choose to seclude themselves for rigorous cultivation. Once these people emerge, although they might not be as formidable as us, they are not far behind. When facing enemies nearly on par with us in multiple numbers, even we would struggle to resist."

"Are they really that powerful?" Lu Hong was quite astonished.

Danni affirmed with a nod, "The Star Sea is boundless – who can say for sure how many powerhouses are hidden within it?"

Indeed, there were many favored by the heavens, like Lina, around the same age as Lu Hong, yet already crossing the threshold of the Third Transition. At this rate, she might become a peak powerhouse in less than a hundred years, potentially rivaling the Tower Masters.

After much rambling, Danni opened the teleportation gate to Ambra for Lu Hong.

After leaving Weiwei and Danni, Lu Hong stepped through.

The location was the Nature Sect’s branch temple in Ambra. As soon as he set foot inside, he heard clamorous noises from outside the hall.

With no one to receive him by the teleportation gate, Lu Hong sensed that something might have happened and hurriedly went out.

Outside the dilapidated Nature Temple, a band of robbers was assaulting the disciples’ defense line, aiming to burst in and plunder.

Without the need for analysis, those intent on raiding the Nature Temple were no good. Lu Hong, without saying a word, summoned the War Holy Sword and charged at the enemies in front of him.

His opponent was a Second Transition early-stage Knight, relying on a sturdy shield to break through the Nature Sect’s defense line. Just as he was about to relish in his victory, a heavy sword came crashing down on his head.

The bandit Knight reacted quickly as a burst of white light shone on his heavy shield.

"Suppress!" Lu Hong activated his Pure Steel Battle Energy, and the Holy Sword fell like Mount Tai, thunderously crushing down. The bandit Knight had not anticipated the terrifying force of the strike and was smashed heavily to the ground.

"War Challenge!" Lu Hong raised his sword, and the ferocious bandit was instantly bisected, his blood spurting out.

"You are not of the Natural Sect!" Such excessive brutality upon striking, the bandits raised an angry complaint. The Natural Sect didn’t readily kill people; how had this guy infiltrated them?

"Who are you, sir? Why did you emerge from within our sect?" A disciple of the Natural Sect was also taken aback, questioning.

"I come from Green Forest, let’s deal with the trouble at hand first." Lu Hong didn’t waste words; he picked up his Heavy Sword and charged into the crowd.

Lu Hong didn’t stimulate his lifeblood power, for he needed to hone his skills as a Great War Master, just stepping into the early stages of Second Transition now.

With the moves and techniques learned from the battle with Barton, Lu Hong slaughtered the low-level bandits without restraint, quickly terrifying them into shambolic retreat, and resolved the Natural Sect’s crisis.

Lu Hong sheathed the War Holy Sword, and the Hall Master of the Nature Sanctuary stepped forward and asked, "Sir, were you sent from headquarters to rescue us?"

"No, I just have some personal matters to deal with in Ambra." Lu Hong said, "The Natural Sect is incomparably powerful; how could you have fallen to the point where you are overwhelmed by a bunch of scum?"

The Hall Master offered a wry smile, "My lord is not aware, Ambra is in chaos year-round, temple raids, and looting by bandits occur frequently, and our sect has many matters to attend to, our calls for help don’t receive timely responses."

"Ambra is that chaotic?" Lu Hong had visited the land of exile once and hadn’t seen such disorder; it seemed Ambra was even more dangerous than the land of exile.

"Yes, Ambra has seven major territories, which are in constant strife, causing the people to live in misery, and robbers and thieves are rife. For wealth and survival, they are capable of anything." The Hall Master sighed and said, "In fact, our Natural Sect has long been looted, we hardly have anything left, the only thing of value that others might covet is the half-stocked granary."

As they spoke, a bright light shone within the sanctuary; two envoys sent to support the division had finally arrived.

"Where are they? Damn it, they dare to cause trouble at our Natural Sect; I’ll slaughter them all." Two women cursed as they rushed out of the sanctuary, only to face the dead bodies, they felt a sudden nausea and started vomiting uncontrollably.

This is the support sent by the Natural Sect? Seeing corpses and vomiting like this, what can we expect?

"Blegh~~~~~"

"What the,,,, blegh~~~~~"

"Uh, you take them to vomit." Lu Hong waved his hand, "I shall take my leave."

"My lord, please." The Hall Master bowed respectfully.

After Lu Hong left, a female disciple of the Natural Sect asked, "Hall Master, he clearly isn’t from our sect, should we really let him leave?"

"What else?" The Hall Master shrugged, "Decisive in killing, this man must have been stained with much blood; whoever he is, we are not in a position to stop him. If he’s a fugitive from Green Forest, at most we can provide some information; we must not provoke him. We better take care of these two ’experts’ sent from the headquarters first."

Blegh~~~~~

Blegh~~~~~

The Hall Master supported the two vomiting women and retreated back into the inner sanctuary.

Stepping out of the Nature Temple, only then did Lu Hong realize this place wasn’t even worth calling a village, the rundown thatched houses had long been abandoned, presumably the villagers who lived here could no longer bear the bandit raids and had all moved away.

If Ambra was such a mess, what on earth were the elves here for?

Lu Hong opened his map, with a full three months before Miaomiao was due to arrive. According to the intelligence provided by Danni, their target was an ancient ruin hidden in Ambra, but the exact location was unclear. Danni had only marked three possible locations; Lu Hong needed to visit each in advance to locate the ruins.

The closest marked point was within the territory of Cang, the fourth-ranking nation of Ambra, about a seven-day journey by foot.

Three months to find the ruins was actually quite a workload.

Having readjusted his mask, there was no time to delay, he set off immediately.
