Chapter 241: Chapter 223 Volume 1 Finale - The Queen’s Warrior (Part 2)

"Combined Qi Slash!"

The warrior skimmed across a thousand troops, the sweeping Sword Qi forcing the surrounding Snow Clan back, as his left hand, charged with Magic Power, slapped fiercely on top of the ice sculpture.

Alas, no matter how powerful the Magic Power was, it couldn’t penetrate the ice sculpture. Instead, his arm was injured by the biting cold Qi emitted by the ice sculpture.

The warrior staggered back several steps, his face alternating between shades of dark and light, staring intently at Omer atop the tower, who continued his prayers, "Snow Clan remnants, why would you meddle in these muddy waters!"

Omer smiled slightly, "The Supreme Poison Master entrusted this task to me. Though a remnant, my lineage ultimately belongs to our ancestors."

"Ancestors my ass!" Konstantin, observing through a magical vision, kicked over the case at his side, "Does the Northern Border have a strong healing profession among the Black Guard?!"

"Your Majesty, it seems not," Zheke answered with a bitter smile. In the basic composition of the Black Guard’s professions, healing wasn’t an option.

Though there were still quite a few healers in the Northern Border army, they were worn out from protracted combat. Besides, their own strength was inadequate, and they couldn’t lift Omer’s curse.

Seeing the other side helpless, Bu Sheng was overjoyed. If the Northern Border army were to suffer another defeat, it would be the opportune moment to lead the troops south.

"Great Commander!" Huai Long carved a bloody path towards the warrior and asked in a deep voice, "What shall we do?!"

"Wait!" the warrior shouted lowly. "I do not believe he would die just like that!"

Without external help, Lu Hong indeed had no hope of escaping, primarily because he knew too little about curse-class Skills. When he first sensed something wrong, he didn’t take immediate defensive action.

He wasn’t dead yet.

Lu Hong was trapped inside the ice sculpture, watching everything happening before him helplessly.

What to do? What to do? Lu Hong struggled frantically, but the cold Qi locked every inch of his muscles and every strand of his qi-blood. He simply couldn’t muster any movement.

As Lu Hong was trapped, the morale of the Human Race plummeted. Even the Black Guard and Black Pupil working together were suppressed by the Snow Clan’s battle formation, unable to raise their heads. The Northern Border army was also forced to retreat slowly under the Snow Clan’s pressure—an all-out rout.

The ice sculpture that Lu Hong had turned into was about to fall into enemy hands when, suddenly, the blood-red earth was unknowingly covered with an endless green.

"What is that?" Bu Sheng frowned slightly.

"The Natural Sect," Omer said. "I didn’t expect they’d involve themselves too."

"The Natural Sect?" Bu Sheng’s frown deepened. He knew of this power; among the seven Tower Masters of the empire, only the Blue Tower Master and Green Tower Master had established their own ruling forces. The Ice Snow Shrine had long been restrained by the Snow Clan’s largest force, Thousand Bush Mountain, and couldn’t participate, but the Natural Sect was not within Bu Sheng’s contemplation, "Aren’t they always targeting the Hell Sect? Why would they intervene in the Northern Border conflict?"

"It must be because the person Your Majesty is targeting has intricate connections with the Natural Sect," guessed Omer, although he didn’t recognize Lu Hong.

Since Lu Hong emerged from Parson, Danni had been keeping an eye on him. She said nothing when she learned he had contacted the Hell Sect, until now, with Lu Hong trapped, she dispatched high-level disciples from the Sect to lend aid.

In the distance, seven second-transition peak masters of the Natural Sect formed a great array. Their emerald Magic Power emitted waves of soft light, brushing over the Human Race camp and bringing a hint of warmth to the injured soldiers.

As the green light approached, Bu Sheng shouted from atop the tower, "Stop it from reaching the ice sculpture!"

Magic skills burst forth continuously from the Snow Clan army, building countless high walls to block the green light.

But all their efforts were in vain. From the outset of the spellcasting, the Natural Sect’s Skills had locked onto Lu Hong, making any subsequent obstruction futile.

Beneath Lu Hong’s feet, vines grew rapidly, blanketing the ice sculpture in the blink of an eye.

"The Goddess of Nature’s blessing!"

The seven disciples chanted lowly, and an apparition of the Goddess unfolded behind Lu Hong, gently enveloping him in her embrace.

Under the Goddess’s blessing, the ice gradually melted. Omer and his accompanying remnants on the tower shuddered, immediately suffering backlash and spitting out mouthfuls of fresh blood.

"My king," Omer, wearing a grim smile, said, "I have failed."

In Bu Sheng’s horrified gaze, the power of fresh blood once again enveloped the battlefield, a massive blood orb smashing forcefully against the sturdy walls of Hanguguan Pass.

"My king, retreat quickly!" Omer shielded Bu Sheng and hurriedly retreated from the tower.

Konstantin could only see a sea of blood before him, and as the earth shook and mountains quaked, Hanguguan Pass’s robust walls were breached by a single individual’s power—what sort of divine might was this?

With divine light by his side, Lu Hong stepped onto the collapsed tower and picked up Nono’s body.

The Snow Clan soldiers looked at each other, none daring to step forward.

"I’m sorry, I’m late," Lu Hong smoothed Nono’s disheveled hair and straightened her tattered clothes, his face full of guilt.

"Kill him for me!" Bu Sheng, covered in dirt from the rubble, climbed out and pointed at Lu Hong, barking the order loudly.

"Get lost!" Lu Hong roared quietly, a blood-red fist punching the opposite side into the air, and a giant of blood materialized behind Lu Hong, surveying the surroundings, quelling the restless snow tribe soldiers’ flicker of mischief in their hearts.

After arranging Nono’s body, Lu Hong took out the Youjian, ignited it with the power of his qi and blood, and as the Youjian were consumed by fire, a transparent shadow was summoned from afar and settled beside him.

The voice of the Underworld Officer rose, "She doesn’t deserve to enter the underworld. I’ll take the Youjian as an exchange."

"Not worthy?" Sensing the position given by the Underworld Officer, Lu Hong gripped hard, yanking it from the space.

Bu Sheng: Huh?

Lily: Huh?

Konstantin: Huh?

The snow tribe army: Huh?

The empire’s army: Huh?

Caesar: Huh? Huh? Huh? What the hell is that?

In the middle of the battlefield, a skeleton monster was pulled out of nowhere, leaving everyone baffled.

"The Youjian is burned; you must take her to the underworld," Lu Hong howled.

Surprised that Lu Hong could touch him, the Underworld Officer exclaimed, "You... how can you touch me?!"

Lu Hong didn’t know why, but the Ancestor Dragon provided the answer, "It’s divine power, the divine power that Heavenly Gods carry when they descend to earth, something that these lowly lost souls cannot evade."

"I’ll say it again, take her soul to the underworld!"

The Underworld Officer, flustered from being grabbed by Lu Hong, hurriedly said, "But her soul has long since dissipated; I can’t bring it back together again even if I wanted to!"

"Don’t worry, little brother, I’ll teach you the secret soul summoning technique," an intention of the Ancestor Dragon entered Lu Hong’s mind.

Lu Hong nodded, sparing the thanks. A big brother for a day, a big brother for a lifetime.

Following the Ancestor Dragon’s teachings, Lu Hong let go of the Underworld Officer, "Wait for me to summon Nono’s soul back, and you help me take her back to the underworld. Within a hundred years, I will enter the underworld to visit her. If she is treated poorly there, I will kill you!"

"Heh, still thinking of summoning the soul? There are few in the underworld with the skill to do that," The Underworld Officer sneered inwardly, but aloud he said, "Yes, yes, I will heed your words."

But being able to pull him out of nothingness, this person is certainly not one to mess with; best to obey for now.

Lu Hong cut his finge, and drops of blood fell on Nono’s forehead. A murmuring chant spilled from his mouth.

Just as the Ancestor Dragon had sung, echoing throughout the skies of Hanguguan Pass.

"Is this? Dragon Language?" Caesar stood under the starry sky, his eyes filled with amazement; indeed, this fellow has only lived for so many years, yet his experiences seemed no less than his own.

Beneath the chanting of Dragon Language, with the call of a mysterious force, Nono’s fragmented soul scattered in this realm began to coalesce bit by bit.

Moments later, a transparent body appeared next to Lu Hong, it was Nono’s soul, with a face full of confusion.

"Little brother, remember souls brought back like this will have no memories. Take care," came the voice of the Ancestor Dragon.

"Don’t worry, big brother, I can take it," Lu Hong nodded, gently brushing Nono’s cheek, and said to the Underworld Officer, "Take her away; I will come to find her."

"Okay." Without another word, the Underworld Officer waved his hand, taking Nono’s soul and then bowed, "Respected Commander, the underworld will always be a friend to the Heavenly Gods."

From the soul summoning just performed, the Underworld Officer could see the title dripping with blood above Lu Hong’s head, the Blood Lord, spokesperson of the gods.

Fortunately, he hadn’t spoken out of line earlier, or he’d truly be a ghost dying another time.

"Go now," Lu Hong waved his hand and lifted Nono’s body, stepping down from the rubble, the snow tribe’s army parting to open a path for the approaching Lu Hong.

"You worthless bunch of..." Bu Sheng couldn’t finish his sentence before being stopped by Omela.

Seeing Omela slowly shake his head, Bu Sheng’s face paled, and then he slumped to the ground.
