Chapter 237: Chapter 222 Volume 1 Finale - The Queen’s Warrior (Part 1)
The blood light shot into the sky, transforming into a colossal dragon head, defying the heavens as it soared upward and swallowed the raging blizzard unleashed by the Snow Clan mages in one gulp.
As the blood light faded, Lu Hong dashed toward Hanguguan Pass, enveloped in a seven-colored aura.
"Men, form up with me!" Bu Sheng roared, taking the initiative to jump down from the city wall.
From the moment Lu Hong matched the Snow Clan Mage army alone, Bu Sheng finally recognized the formidable power of his adversary, an unmatched might!
"At your command!" the Snow Clan warriors shouted in unison, low and fierce. This was not just a war, but also a matter of the Snow Clan’s honor. Damn it, thirty thousand Mages had been overturned by a mere Baron of the Empire; should word spread, the Snow Clan would be shamed across the Star Sea, laughed at for countless centuries.
Therefore, they must regain their dignity!
The Snow Clan’s forces rapidly assembled, and the standard Seven Extremes Slash Formation materialized once more. Only this time, the focal point of the formation was the contemporary Snow Clan Great Emperor—Bu Sheng.
"They’re about to use the Seven Extremes Slash!" In his anxiety, Konstantin crushed the teacup in his hand with a bang.
Having once witnessed the clan leader personally command the battle in his youth, Konstantin remembered it well. It was during the Lion King’s campaign across the Star Sea when Tai’e led his troops to battle the Snow Clan beyond the divine grace of the Star Sea. Back then, the Snow Clan Great Emperor Wu Ya served as the formation’s focal point, summoning the will of the ancestral spirits with the national treasure, repelling the ferocious Tai’e with a single strike. But that very strike, due to its excessive toll, led Wu Ya to his untimely death and so passed the mantle to Bu Sheng.
Now, with Bu Sheng at the helm of the formation’s core, its power might not match that of Wu Ya in his prime, but it was certainly not a skill that anyone below the Third Transition Peak could withstand.
"Quick, have the Black Guards get Tu Kulu out of here!" Konstantin shouted repeatedly.
No sooner had his voice faded than thousands of soldiers from the northern camp, disregarding orders, charged out to rescue Lu Hong.
"Stand down!" Lu Hong said coolly without turning his head. A flash of blood light swept past, and Konstantin’s covertly placed Black Guards were shoved aside, hurled back to the main camp.
"Set up the Earth’s Defense, go all-out on the defense," Lai Li commanded urgently as she watched the changing winds and clouds of the battlefield.
She knew that once Bu Sheng activated the Seven Extremes Slash, its force would be overwhelming. Without early defenses, their central command tent likely wouldn’t withstand the aftermath of the enemy’s residual power.
"Great Commander, what... what about that Baron?" Huai Long stammered.
Lai Li glanced at him, her lips curling. A moment ago, he had been mocking and now, suddenly, he was concerned about the safety of the opponent. Ha! Such is the nature of men! Fickle men!
"We can’t concern ourselves with him. Once Bu Sheng initiates the Seven Extremes Slash, without the protection of the Queen’s Scepter, it will be difficult for us to survive its power. Fortunately, we are not the target this time. But we should not underestimate the ripple effects of the Seven Extremes Slash," Lai Li said, drawing on the knowledge her teacher had imparted, securing a chance for survival for the northern army.
Yes, from the moment Bu Sheng took his place within the formation’s core, the strange roars of Kefati echoed with the north wind across the land. This was the formidable might possessed by ancient Heavenly Gods!
"Baron Yitian, I admit you are strong, but sadly, you’ve come at the wrong time. Fina is already dead; she’s not worth your risking your life," Bu Sheng said, not wishing to use the Seven Extremes Slash, his father’s lesson serving as a cautionary tale.
"Come then, show me the might of your Seven Extremes Slash," Lu Hong stated unflinchingly, walking step by step into the piercing cold wind.
"Good! Then allow me to reunite you and Fina in the netherworld!" Bu Sheng slapped his short-handled axe, and the massive phantom of Kefati emerged halfway out from behind Hanguguan Pass, shrouding the entire plain within it.
Lando retreated another thirty miles, cautiously using magical sight to observe the developments on the battlefield. She dared not get closer, partly because of the immense power of Bu Sheng’s skills, and partly to avoid the retribution of the covenant.
Inside the Holy Cave, the Snow Clan’s supreme beings gathered, similarly observing every move of Bu Sheng through special skills.
"My lord Du Sheng, do you think our king will win?" Han Lang asked gravely.
Du Sheng glanced at him without speaking. Du Sheng also wasn’t sure if the Seven Extremes Slash could defeat the man radiating with a seven-colored divine light.
Du Sheng was well aware of the power of the Seven Extremes Slash; in all of divine grace, no one should be able to withstand the skill released by the Snow Clan Emperor’s life force. However, Du Sheng had this nagging feeling that Bu Sheng would lose.
The second supreme, Xu Lin, coldly said, "Stop talking nonsense, keep watching!"
Frightened, Han Lang hurriedly swallowed the words he was about to speak.
Caesar stood outside the world of divine grace, overlooking the battlefield of the north, his expression turned grave as he watched Lu Hong’s performance, becoming more convinced of what Lai Li said—that as long as Tu Kulu lived, he could certainly become a god.
"Who exactly is this lad, and what kind of fate has he stumbled upon?" Caesar was unclear about the skill Lu Hong was using, but that didn’t prevent him from sensing a hint of the ancient gods’ presence within the seven-colored divine light.
Bu Sheng gathered the army’s magic power, and his short-handled axe burst forth with a blinding white light. The overshadowing phantom began to solidify, as if to fully resurrect Kefati.
"The first—Slash!"
With a furious shout, Kefati too let out a sky-shaking roar, drawing forth a rib bone to smash down viciously toward Lu Hong.
"Deploy the formation!" Lai Li called out loudly, and the northern army desperately channelled their magic power, barely withstanding the terrifying pressure from Kefati.
Lu Hong, at the center of the attack, faced pressures that were hundreds, thousands of times greater.
The Ancestor Dragon roared wildly in Lu Hong’s heart: "Kefati, you trash! Back in the day, I could take on ten of you single-handedly. Now, dead for who knows how many million years, you still dare to strike at my brother. Once I break free, I will find a way to whip your corpse!"
