Chapter 148: Chapter 141 Assassination

The pot of tea in Andre’s hand was no different from wine to him; after a few cups, Lu Hong had gotten the answers he wanted.

Lu Hong was increasingly worried about Nono’s upcoming situation. If the fourth enforcer of the Golden Clan was so formidable, wouldn’t the first three be even stronger?

The Empire only had two powerful women, going against four—no wonder they lost.

"Brother An, do you know how many enforcers the Golden Clan has in total?" Lu Hong poured another cup of tea as he humbly inquired.

"Thank you, thank you," Andre replied. "The Golden Clan has a total of seventy-two enforcers."

What the hell? Seventy-two?

"Are they all as formidable as Master Huo Lie?" Lu Hong listened, alarmed.

"Of course, half of the seventy-two enforcers have mastered secret skills; each is a top-tier existence."

Suddenly, Lu Hong felt a bit discouraged. With so many powerful enforcers, even with a hundred more people, he couldn’t defeat them.

"However..." Andre suddenly shifted his tone, looking regretful. "In previous battles across various dimensions with the Empire, most were killed, leaving only the fourth enforcer, Master Huo Lie, the seventh enforcer, Hunter Hill, and the twenty-eighth enforcer, Shadow Demon Cliff."

"Only three left?" Lu Hong felt like he was on an emotional roller coaster, his face lighting up with joy. "So, the first enforcer, such a formidable existence, is gone too?"

"Why, are you pleased?" Andre, dissatisfied, said. "Our Golden Clan’s first enforcer was nearly invincible."

Andre sighed, "But the Empire dispatched the Tower Master of the White Tower, the Tower Master, huh? Isn’t that bullying?"

The most powerful enforcer of the Golden Clan was slain by Vili as the war began, showcasing the might of the Tower Master.

After asking some questions about the Silverwhite Family of Kadur City, Lu Hong had gathered enough information and stood to take his leave.

Following Andre’s instructions, he arrived at the City Lord Mansion of Kadur City, which was once the territory of the An family.

"Halt!"

"Can’t you see this is the City Lord Mansion? Are you trying to barge in? Have you any regard for your life?" The guards approached to stop Lu Hong from barging in: "Get out, get out; is the City Lord Mansion a place for you to come?"

"I’m looking for Craig. I have urgent news. If you delay due to your obstruction, you’ll lose your heads!" Lu Hong said urgently.

"Looking for our Young Master?" The guard was intimidated by Lu Hong’s words. "Who are you? I will report to him immediately."

"Just tell him there’s military intelligence to discuss. If he doesn’t meet, the loss will be his."

"Alright, wait here." The guard swiftly darted inside and soon hurried out to tell Lu Hong, "My master invites you in."

Led by the guard, Lu Hong came before Craig.

This Young Master of the Silverwhite Family, truth be told, had an elegant and handsome appearance, indeed resembling a pretty boy. It seemed like big families did nurture people well.

"Who are you, sir? What military intelligence do you have to report?" Craig was handling documents, arranging the dispatch of supplies.

Lu Hong didn’t waste words and said directly, "Miss Third is going to intercept your military supplies."

From Andre, Lu Hong had learned about some matters between Lulu and Craig. When the Silverwhite Family entered the Yuanhua, they proposed one condition: to unite the two families by marriage, with Craig marrying Lulu, the third miss of the Golden Clan.

When the Silverwhite Family defected, Lulu had already shown astonishing military talent. Originally an unnoticed girl from a noble family, she suddenly became quite sought after.

The Golden Clan was somewhat reluctant, but under the Silverwhite Family’s insistent request, they finally agreed.

However, the family’s agreement didn’t mean the third miss agreed.

It’s said that the first meeting between Craig and Lulu was quite unfriendly, and the two had a big argument.

"Oh?" Craig set down his work and asked Lu Hong, "How do you know this?"

"Never mind how I know, if I don’t warn you soon it might be too late," Lu Hong estimated the time, feeling that Old Han Ke was already on the move to intercept.

Craig shook his head, not believing Lu Hong: "Who exactly are you? Why are you trying to sow discord between my Silverwhite Family and the Golden Clan?"

Craig wasn’t a fool. Currently, with the merger of the Silverwhite Family and the Golden Clan, the weakest link was the marital alliance between him and Lulu. If there was a problem with this, the union of the two families would certainly face trouble.

"You don’t believe me?" Lu Hong sneered. "Seems I was worrying unnecessarily, farewell."

"Wait!" Right after Craig spoke, a squad of guards rushed into the room and surrounded Lu Hong.

"What are you doing? I came over just to deliver a message out of goodwill," Lu Hong glanced around, readying for a fight.

"Although Lulu dislikes me, she should still have a sense of propriety and wouldn’t do something that harms the harmony between our two clans." Craig walked up to Lu Hong. "But you, with your unclear background and intent to ruin relations between our clans, certainly have problems."

Damn it, why wasn’t this pretty boy at all foolish?

"Speak! Who are you really?" Craig pressed on again, just as Lu Hong was about to act, a spatial mage hurried in and said to Craig, "Young Master, it’s bad, someone intercepted our military supplies!"

"What?!" Craig was shocked, his face turning extremely angry. "Everyone, back off!"

"But Young Master..." The spatial mage was puzzled. Wasn’t it time to arrange how to recover them? Why asking everyone to leave? What about the matter of the supplies?

"Back off!" Craig ordered again with a low growl. Despite any doubts, everyone kept them to themselves and quietly left the room.

Craig took a deep breath, calmed himself, and said to Lu Hong, "Please, have a seat."

Well, now attitudes have changed. Lu Hong sneered, "I can’t afford your hospitality, Young Master."

"Apologies, my suspicions got the better of me. After all, this is a critical period for the two clans. Please bear with me." Craig continued, "Are you certain it was Miss Third who orchestrated this?"

"Of course, it was Miss Third herself who devised the plan; I was there at the time." Lu Hong sat down, beginning to spout nonsense. "Miss Third said that breaking the alliance with the Silverwhite Family is definitely not an option, but she absolutely won’t compromise on this marriage agreement. If Young Master Craig could somehow appear incompetent, she might find a way to maneuver and dissolve the marital contract between the two clans."

"So, losing critical military supplies was a solution she came up with?" Craig had a heavy heart; these supplies were indeed crucial. Although he could handle previous raids, this loss would certainly cause major issues.

"Could you testify for me? I want to make that vile woman pay!" Craig said with malice.

"No, coming to warn you was already a significant risk for me. If I testified for you, I wouldn’t last long," Lu Hong shook his head, declining the request.

"Very well," Craig shouted out, "Someone come!"

The spatial mage from before entered again. "Young Master, what are your instructions?"

"Immediately inform my father about the loss of supplies and tell him it is an intrigue by Miss Third of the Golden Clan. I will handle it, so he need not worry."

"Understood," the spatial mage glanced at Lu Hong before exiting again.

"Why not stay here for a couple of days?" Craig suggested to Lu Hong. "You’ve worked hard to report such news, surely you have some motive. But whatever your request, I will strive to fulfill it to express my regret."

"Oh? Anything I want?" Lu Hong smirked.

"Of course, if you can testify against Miss Third at the critical moment, I will satisfy all your requests." Craig perceived Lu Hong as simply a servant without power, promising various benefits.

"Then if..." Lu Hong leaned close to Craig’s ear and whispered, "I want your life, what shall we do?"

Craig was startled, ready to back away, but Lu Hong gripped his shoulder tightly. Entering the Lion King’s Presence state, he crushed Craig’s scapula with immense brute force.

"Ah! Mercy!" Craig cried in pain.

According to the information provided by Andre, Craig was a mage of the earth element. Therefore, Lu Hong was fully confident in taking him down.

"Earth Shield!" Enduring the excruciating pain, Craig began an incantation, but Lu Hong’s loud shout erupted in his ear, Intimidation!

By the time Craig awoke from the dizziness, a sharp sword had impaled his chest: "You..."

"Young Master!" Guards rushed into the room, but it was too late.

"Blood Qi Shockwave!" Lu Hong unleashed his skill with full force, forcing back all the guards, then dashed out like the wind.
