Chapter 1706: Chapter 1706: Abyss?

It’s called a Space Maze, but for players, there are two ways to get out: one is to follow the rules and hunt down others to open the passage to exit or ascend; the other is to die and choose to resurrect at the cemetery to escape this place.

Li Yao naturally wouldn’t want to leave, so he can only choose to hunt other intruders.

The so-called intruders are actually other players. Once this dungeon is truly open, it is impossible for only one team to discover it.

Clearly, it was the Great Mage who released the quest through some channel, allowing many players to accept it.

In fact, this is not something strange. Not long ago, someone mentioned sharing a secret, which was actually an undeveloped special scenario dungeon.

Wanting to cooperate with Starfire to explore the dungeon together, competing fairly without other opponents, or uniting against external forces if there are other challengers.

This is not the first time Starfire has cooperated with Glory, so Li Yao entrusted the matter to Sister Li.

Before the dungeon was developed, it wouldn’t be widely known and only circulated among a few people.

Of course, there are dungeons that get leaked out, but they are rare, usually discovered through related quests and tackled with friends in tandem.

Though not a mainline dungeon, the first exploration yields very good rewards.

"It was supposed to be a simple action, didn’t expect it to turn out like this. Looks like a killing spree is inevitable again," Li Yao sighed. He doesn’t dislike fights, but he’s not interested in meaningless battles. The twists with the Flowing Sand Scepter annoyed him greatly.

Besides, with his skills, those players might pose some trouble only if they band together; if they remain dispersed, tragedy is inevitable for other players.

Even more tragic, in this bizarre dungeon, it’s impossible to tell how many players have entered. Who knows how many need to be killed, and others are unaware of Li Yao’s presence.

Of course, even if they knew, they wouldn’t just commit suicide. After all, it’s just a game — no one fears anyone, and anyhow, losing a level is the worst that could happen, so why not take a shot? What if they win?

If it were just another ordinary dungeon, Li Yao would certainly give it up. While these dungeons yield decent rewards, they don’t truly captivate him.

What he can’t let go of is the Flowing Sand Scepter. This holds the key to future main story quests and is a reward far greater than what a small dungeon can offer.

But to obtain the Flowing Sand Scepter, he must push forward through the trials.

Why can the two Dragon Queens feel the protective power? They don’t know, but Li Yao is perfectly clear that it’s because of the Flowing Sand Scepter.

Li Yao hesitated for a brief moment in his heart, then proceeded towards the other side of the hall’s passageway.

"Intruders, fight to your heart’s content. Only the strongest of you shall be crafted into half-elemental life forms to enjoy endless eternal life. You should feel thrilled — immortality is such a huge temptation for your mortal races. I’m watching your performances with great interest."

After Night Wind finished speaking, the phantom vanished.

A flash of light between Li Yao’s eyebrows, and a mother bug with four wings flew out, leading the way.

The current mother bug is synchronized, without the fear of being killed, and after synchronization, its various attributes have significantly enhanced so that the mother bug’s own stats and combat power are not weak.

The passage was beautiful, like a vast cave, except that apart from the ground, everything else was transparent.

It resembled a water world, where one could see a magnificent deep-sea world,

"Looks like we’ve reached a dangerous area, be careful," warned the Black Dragon Queen cautiously.

Li Yao also activated his God Eye, resolute about obtaining the Flowing Sand Scepter this time. Moreover, if it’s in the form of a dungeon, he might have only one chance; he could strategically despise his opponents, but tactically, he could not afford to be careless.

In the underwater tunnel, a vortex appeared in the sky, right in front of the team.

Then stone eggs with spikes emerged from the vortex, shrieking towards the team.

Li Yao didn’t cast any buffs, just bent his bow and nocked the arrows, shooting them swiftly.

Each arrow hit a stone egg; the explosive insects embedded in the arrows detonated inside, blowing the stone eggs apart.

Stonefish with sharp teeth fell out of the eggs, but their bodies were mostly shattered, plummeting to the ground.

"Not bad monsters, each one is actually at the leader level. These stonefish could be troublesome if engaged in a prolonged fight," the Medusa remarked, "These are Abyssal Demonfish, they shouldn’t appear in this world. Could this place be a certain Deep Sea Plane of the Abyss?"

The Abyss World holds many realms, many purely elemental realms, like an ocean realm or an ice realm.

Li Yao’s arrows flew like the wind. His agility was now formidable; these stonefish were evidently summoned from the ocean, instead giving Li Yao the opportunity to tackle each one individually.

The stonefish didn’t even have the opportunity to hatch, preventing a fierce battle.

Three vortices simultaneously released stonefish eggs, but Li Yao handled them with ease, leaving a heap of broken stonefish eggs on the ground.

"The atmosphere here is very bizarre; it indeed might be on an Abyssal Plane. This Night Wind arcane master seems quite capable," said the Blue Dragon Queen carefully observing the sea creatures, noticing they differed from those in the main plane’s ocean.

"Better be safe than sorry," nodded the Black Dragon Queen.

Finally, after a few minutes, the vortex’s energy dissipated, leaving only a pile of broken stonefish eggs on the floor.

"Not bad, I gained some synchronization material."

Though they were just fish eggs, the experience was good, and he also secured some synchronization material, stepping closer to elevating sync levels.

After traversing a while longer, the group encountered several more vortices.

This time, when they discovered the vortices, quite a few creatures had already emerged from them.

The passages beneath the vortices were shrouded in dense green fog, a foul stench emanating from afar.

The fog echoed with croaking sounds, shadowing large toads taller than a person lurking in the poison fog, spewing poisonous mists from their mouths.

"I’m more convinced now that this is some layer of the Abyss. These are Abyssal Poisonous Toads, extremely toxic; the deadly poison has strong adhesion and virulence, making it intensely active and hard to dispel," explained the Medusa, "They’re one of the formidable monster species in the Abyssal Seaside."

"If we kill the Abyssal Poisonous Toads, how long before the poison fog dissipates?" Li Yao asked.

The Medusa shook her head, "At least an hour and a half."

"Too long, but we must first eliminate the Medusa Frogs; otherwise, the poison fog will only increase..."
