Chapter 1662: Chapter 1662: The Second Dragon Queen
Everyone felt a sense of unreality, as most did not know what the so-called parasite really was.
But ignorance aside, now they knew its effect, which was that nearly two hundred thousand Death Knights had collectively betrayed.
This was filled with drama and left them dazzled.
The final battle was unbelievably brilliant, with the Withered Sun Legion unleashing a big move, followed by Daisom doing the same, only for it to be countered.
The biggest blow was undoubtedly to Dalkhan; with two hundred thousand Death Knights lost, just this loss alone would bring him hellish punishment when he faced the Lich King.
But he truly did not want to die; he still wanted to reach the pinnacle of his life. To die just like this, how could he ever be content?
"We are irreconcilable, but if you make it through today alive, then we can talk."
Li Yao didn’t spare him a glance, as his Magic Armor moved once again, continuously slaughtering the undead army.
The Death Knights’ rebellion could be said to have triggered the massive defeat of Daisom’s army.
At the very rear of the line was Daisom’s reserve army, mostly consisting of the fragile Banshees and ghosts, facing the frenzied assault of the Death Knights, the battle was completely one-sided.
With a crisis in the rear, the undead army on the front lines, lacking momentum, was also retreating steadily.
But the Rangers at the back had recovered and resumed their Arrow Rain, targeting the Gargoyle Troops in the sky this time.
Meanwhile, the magic squads, having regained their mana, continued to cast spells to slaughter the rear ranks.
The undead may not have morale, and though their combat strength remained, in the face of such a decline, no matter how valiantly they fought, they continued to be reaped by the overwhelming force.
The battle had reached its most frenzied and tragic phase.
The players were the same; they frantically assembled their elite troops, occupying every point of combat space, harvesting the fruits of victory—this was the kind of advantageous battle players liked.
In reality, under such circumstances, it was the most brutal; the undead’s combat strength had not diminished, and might even be higher than usual at times.
Yet the atmosphere made it seem as if participating in an assured victory reaped some benefit.
The great battle would continue unless one side was completely annihilated.
But the situation was already very clear; the Death Knights’ defection was not simply just two plus two equals four.
Now anyone could see that the situation was beyond saving for Dalkhan.
He had many powerful leaders under him, but the players weren’t pushovers unless they encountered aberrations like the Chitin Lord.
Presently, the Chitin Lord, along with his insect minions, joined the battle—they were much fiercer than cockroaches, especially with the healing boost from the Queen and Li Yao, each one fighting fearlessly.
Having been on the receiving end all along, Dalkhan was not the Black Dragon Queen’s opponent to begin with, more so after his spirit took a heavy blow.
Under the Black Dragon Queen’s frenzied attacks, the ocean void illusion behind Dalkhan finally shattered, and the spell enhancers on him finally vanished.
Dalkhan was blasted away by continuous strikes but managed to persistently Blink under the Banshees’ protection, keeping the Black Dragon Queen momentarily at bay.
Cough, cough, cough...
Dalkhan was charred all over, his life reduced to less than a third, coughing up blood incessantly, utterly pitiful.
"Stop playing, let’s kill this waste together."
This was a world-level boss; killing him would directly level up Li Yao.
The players were envious, but they lacked the capability to kill their way in, especially with the enemy army heavily surrounding them.
Only with the Magic Armor could Li Yao come over, and the Black Dragon Queen surrounded by a Fire Tornado, not even the soldiers, nor insufficiently powerful leaders, could approach her.
"Hahahaha." Dalkhan wobbled to his feet, his eyes filled with madness: "You’re just a junior who doesn’t even deserve to kill me. If not for my bad luck, how could you defeat me? Heaven is unfair; this world deserves to die, deserves to perish, die, die, die; it’s better to destroy the world."
"Pathetic fool, just who do you think you are? A nutcase. Why don’t you create a realm yourself then? You’d be the Creator God. Seriously taking yourself too seriously, heaven is unfair, who do you think you are, making the sun revolve around you."
Li Yao truly couldn’t understand this lunacy, possessing such a great gift and still complaining about heaven’s unfairness—what an entitled fool, having been praised by others everyday, floating high, considering himself a child of the heavens.
"Hehehehe." Dalkhan laughed madly: "You are not qualified to kill me; I’ll leave, and you can’t stop me."
"Oh, I’m curious to see your methods, to watch you escape from my grasp." Li Yao was eager for him to summon a few more powerful bosses, the more the merrier, as although experience was secondary, he could acquire good loot.
"You’re too arrogant. If you weren’t deluding yourself, you still had a chance to kill me just now, but now, you’ve missed it. Await my revenge."
Dalkhan tore open a scroll directly. As the scroll tore, a towering blue light pillar suddenly burst out of the innermost domed building of Daisom.
Boom!
The space trembled, and then was torn apart by the light pillar, spreading an extremely powerful energy wave.
Everyone couldn’t help but look to the giant light pillar’s top, where a hazy, portal-like illusion appeared.
People could see a floating air fortress, resembling a colossal pyramid; though just a glimpse, the illusory view through the portal revealed the barren red earth below.
Circling the air fortress, numerous bone dragons could be seen.
Compared to the fortress, the bone dragons seemed very small, suggesting the massive scale of this air fortress, a true sky city.
"Constructing a portal connecting to Naxxramas, not too shabby." Li Yao folded his arms behind him: "Let me think, the archlich probably wouldn’t come personally to risk it; the one who could rescue you would likely only be the bone dragons."
Roar!
Before Dalkhan could answer, a thunderous dragon roar came from the Void, and a gigantic frost bone dragon leaped out from the light pillar, followed by nearly a hundred smaller bone dragons. As they emerged, the light pillar’s energy was exhausted, having consumed a tremendous amount of resources to teleport from such a distance.
The leading frost bone dragon, though skeletal, exuded a majestic aura.
"Useless scum, I can’t fathom why the Lich King would have me save such a waste as you."
As the leading frost bone dragon spoke, a frost bone dragon warrior swooped down, grabbing Dalkhan directly.
Li Yao quickly summoned his Dragonfly Army, a hint of glee flashing across his face; this was truly unexpected, catching a dragon while fishing.
"Is it you!" The leading frost bone dragon, supposed to leave with the rescue, its soul fire fluttered as it looked at the Black Dragon Queen.
The Black Dragon Queen instantly reverted to her dragon form, flying in the air, watching the frost bone dragon: "Sindragosa, my dear sister, what a surprise indeed." ...
