Chapter 1659: Chapter 1659: Duel of Magic

The 200,000 rangers unleashed five waves of arrow rain that blocked out the sky and sun, revealing the terrifying might of the ranger army to countless observers.

This long-range assault was simply too terrifying, and incredibly shocking.

Although the players had experienced many battles, it was only during this battle that they truly witnessed how terrifying an ace army could be.

"This is an epic war indeed, magnificent and terrifying," a player couldn’t help but exclaim.

"Yes, a true ancient war of gods should be like this. It’s just that in previous battles, we never really saw the main forces of the factions take action."

"Such a legion is truly terrifying, a long-range assault—how nice it would be to have such a legion."

"I am a ranger myself, and seeing them, I finally understand the essence of a ranger."

Players, whether present at the scene or watching through live broadcasts, were struck with awe beyond description.

Morning Wind watched the players on the deck in a daze, staring blankly at the sky, and shook his head slightly.

This is just the beginning. This attack on the opponent’s ground troops was to carve out room for maneuver. Once the rangers regain their strength, the aerial strike will follow, and a million arrows will fly over their heads—what a sight that will be.

The deputy commander of the Magic Legion, seeing the arrow rain cease, shouted loudly, "The rangers just had their performance, now it’s our turn. Prepare the spells for the 100,000 unit, Heaven’s Fall."

With the deputy commander’s order, the mages’ synchronized incantations echoed as a magical array enveloped the 100,000 mages.

The ethereal array enveloped the 100,000 mages, making them seem like a massive entity, and as the array rotated, the sky was stirred with swirling winds and clouds.

The clouds above were torn apart, especially over the innermost area of Daisom, where a streak of red light appeared in the sky.

Then the chaotic clouds in the sky seemed to turn into burning clouds, painting the entire Daisom red. Anyone could feel the earth and fire elements becoming wild and agitated.

Dalkhan, in a fierce battle with the Black Dragon Queen, looked up at the sky, then at the huge blue array in the distance, and his expression changed dramatically: "Damn, a 100,000-level Heaven’s Fall."

"Fighting me and still daring to be distracted—seeking death."

The Black Dragon Queen took advantage of his distraction, and the ground suddenly spewed a massive amount of magma.

The scorching magma collided with the vast sea behind him, generating a vast amount of steam. At the same time, towards the direction of the Tower of the Windwalker, steam rose heavenwards, claiming the lives of countless sea creatures.

Numerous ships passing through that area quickly steered clear, reminiscent of a submarine volcanic eruption.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Dalkhan was utilizing secret treasures and borrowing the power of this sea region to battle the Black Dragon Queen.

Dalkhan was sent flying backward, yet with the support of the immense water elements from the sea, though battered and wounded, he was not gravely injured.

"Banshee Legion, Energy Shield!" Dalkhan roared fiercely.

The Banshee Legion, engaged in a spellcasting battle with the main forces of the Withered Sun Legion, protected by the roaches, heard the command. The banshees in the rear split off and collectively began spellcasting, with an array enveloping them.

The banshees, in life, were high elf female mages; though transformed into banshees in death, losing their bodies, controlled by the Lich King, and their consciousness muddled, spellcasting was their instinct.

Like the Magic Legion such feats were almost impossible, but defensively, they were more than adequate.

The fiery clouds in the sky morphed into a gigantic vortex, akin to a gateway linking to a Different World.

In essence, it was so. Players, through the red vortex, glimpsed the endless dark starry sky, and as the spellcasting continued, the cosmic starry sky morphed.

An asteroid field formed from countless fragmented stars appeared, the scene momentarily frozen. Those asteroids floating in space seemed to be enveloped by red light, then surged directly toward the vortex made by the fiery clouds.

Numerous asteroids flew out through the vortex, appearing in the sky, plummeting swiftly, then igniting, transforming into fiery-tailed meteors.

The target was the area behind Daisom. This time, the players on the Drying Sun saw more clearly, as meteors fell all around them.

The sky was filled with gargoyles, many struck by the meteors, unable to struggle before shattering into flaming stone fragments, scattering everywhere.

At this point, below, the banshees’ spellcasting had also begun, a transparent magical shield enveloping the sky behind Daisom, resembling a blue transparent dome, exuding a freezing barrier.

Numerous meteors swept away the gargoyles in mid-air before colliding with the shield.

With deafening roars, numerous meteors detonated, and the magical barrier rippled with countless waves.

"This is true Meteor Rain, compared to which the magicians’ and mages’ Rain of Fire are just trash."

This spell was resplendent beyond measure, mesmerizing the players. First, the rangers’ arrow rain that blocked out the sky, then the true cosmic asteroid field summoning meteors—such a spell, far beyond the players’ understanding.

Though players had also mastered Meteor Rain and Rain of Fire, they were merely makeshift spells imitating the formation of fire elements akin to this genuine Heaven’s Fall spell.

"Waiting for your sturdy magical shield." The deputy commander of the Law Breaker Army Corps sneered. The High Elf Magic Kingdom, apart from the Blue Dragons, excelled in mastering magic. The banshees, now with muddled consciousness, couldn’t contend with them. If they were conscious, it might be different. "Break All Magic!"

The Spell Breakers threw their Flying Wheels, which rotated and flew toward the magical shield from all directions, continuously absorbing the barrier’s power. The dim wheels quickly radiated arcane light.

Once the light shone blindingly, the wheels returned to the Spell Breakers’ hands, then flew again, this time merging into the massive array of the second wave of 100,000 mages, transmitting the absorbed power into the magical array.

In unison, the second wave of the Magic Legion, bolstered by the banshees inadvertently aiding in gathering the spell, greatly enhanced the strength of the magical array.

Morning Wind mocked as he watched Dalkhan battling the Black Dragon Queen: "Dalkhan, you truly are not living up to your reputation, unaware of even our kingdom’s most basic combat tactics."

You couldn’t blame Morning Wind for the mockery; this combat tactic was common knowledge. Having a Law Breaker Army Corps made the Magic Legion’s combat approach incredibly flexible and varied.

Yet Dalkhan commanded the banshees foolishly to use such a magical barrier—courting death. It would only take a moment for Dalkhan to pay a heavy price for his ignorance and hubris.

The magical barrier became incredibly fragile; under the assault of meteors and Law Breaking Flying Wheels, it finally shattered, while the spellcasting of the second wave of the Magic Legion also reached its peak...
