Chapter 1552: Chapter 1552: Air Combat Title

Hehehe...

"You want to challenge me? Four against one? No matter how many of you there are, I couldn’t care less. But I won’t fight you on the ground. If you’ve got the guts, come to the skies. Killing you will be as easy as butchering dogs."

The Demon Marshal Alice was stunningly beautiful, with a figure as graceful as a ripe peach, exuding an irresistible allure.

But at this moment, no one noticed her seductive charm. All were overwhelmed by the commanding presence radiating from her.

Alone with her dragon in the skies, the Demon Marshal’s boldness to challenge the world’s mightiest drew everyone’s gaze.

Whether friend or foe, her audacious spirit demanded respect.

"How can we allow the Demon Marshal to fight for dominance alone? I, your subordinate, am willing to fight alongside you."

A Dwarf wielding two Sparkling Electric Hammers ascended into the sky, mounted on a massive dragon. Though his aura was no match for Alice’s, his power had clearly reached the level of a World-level Chief.

"We are willing to live and die with the Demon Marshal!"

One after another, powerful Uldaman warriors mounted on flying dragons rose into the sky. The weakest among them were also Camp-level Chiefs. In the blink of an eye, more than a dozen Camp-level Chiefs took to the skies, confronting the four camps. While Alice did not have many World-level Chiefs under her command—only three—her own transcendent power was worth several such Chiefs combined.

The faces of the Four Factions’ members twisted with shock. Damn it, Uldaman had been hiding such a terrifying roster of powerhouses!

Just the Demon Marshal alone was already ridiculously overpowered. The four Generals had planned to join forces against her, but Uldaman had unleashed over a dozen powerful warriors instead.

"Demonic flames surge! Who among you dares face me and embrace the demon’s calamity?"

The Archangel’s form ascended slowly, his radiant wings suddenly unfurling. His body expanded severalfold, transforming into a massive Light Angel. The Spear of Truth in his hand shimmered faintly with an ethereal radiance, captivating and awe-inspiring.

"We are willing to fight with the Archangel!"

Two Angels ascended into the skies without hesitation.

From the Dark Camp, an Orc Hunter and a Priest from the Darkspear Tribe stepped forward.

Each faction sent forth Camp-level Chiefs to the battle. The skies instantly became enveloped in the overwhelming pressure of countless powerful entities, and the atmosphere brimmed with an intense battle spirit.

"I now issue a joint military achievement reward order! Those who dare to challenge the airborne Uldaman powerhouses and contribute to the battle will receive military achievements tripled, along with titles based on performance—(Airborne Scout, Airborne Captain, Elite Pilot, Ace Pilot.)

Once you earn any of these titles, you’ll be exempt from completing airborne mount-riding tasks to learn aerial riding techniques after reaching Level Six. Moreover, you’ll be eligible to purchase superior aerial combat mounts of Chief-level or higher.

Airborne Scouts gain a 3% bonus to flight speed, Captains 5%, Elite Pilots 10%, and Aces 20%.

Initially, players weren’t particularly enthusiastic about aerial combat. For one, most didn’t have the riding techniques, and even those who had means to fly found their combat effectiveness severely diminished. After all, they lacked aerial combat experience.

Additionally, it was extremely dangerous. Just look at the opponents—damn it, the weakest were Camp-level Chiefs. One hit would likely kill you instantly. Going up there felt like suicide.

However, the joint rewards immediately tempted everyone.

Triple military achievements aside, which were crucial for securing first kill rewards, individual achievements alone could only go so far. Players, thinking rationally, might generally have avoided such risks.

But the titles for aerial combat were far too enticing. Even though aerial mount-riding wasn’t fully unlocked, many players had already encountered tasks related to it.

Aerial mount tasks were chain quests. Learning aerial riding not only required spending over a thousand Gold Coins but also completing the necessary quests.

For example, basic aerial riding required completing a ten-stage chain; elite-level training required twenty stages; and the best aerial riding techniques demanded thirty stages—each stage consisting of ten quests.

Doesn’t sound like much, right? Some might think, "It’s just more quests, no big deal—just like leveling up."

But these quests were graded based on your current stats and level. Ordinary tasks wouldn’t be below A+ difficulty, and for every five tasks, one must be ranked S. No matter who you were, S-level quests were extremely dangerous and challenging.

Since the quests were stat-based, take Li Yao, for example. A quest deemed A-level for him would already be S-level or higher for others. If a mission was rated S for Li Yao, it would only mean despair for anyone else.

In other words, even Li Yao would find completing these tasks no easy feat. They required copious amounts of time, money, and substantial risk.

Aerial mount-riding had already become a hot topic among players.

Under such circumstances, the emergence of these titles was highly attractive. Forget about the flying speed bonuses. The mere fact that players could bypass quest requirements was already more than enough to draw them in.

On top of that, they could buy combat mounts of Chief-level or above.

For instance, take regular riding techniques. Even after learning them, players could only purchase the most basic mounts. Combat mounts required completing special tasks—not tasks you could pick up on a whim, as they depended on various hidden conditions.

Forget regular players—even top-tier experts with bad luck couldn’t easily obtain good combat mounts. This had nothing to do with skill or power. That’s why when Starfire received combat mounts as rewards last time, everyone unanimously chose combat mounts without hesitation.

Combat mounts had enormous appeal, even for top-tier experts, let alone when considering the impact they could have on entire guilds. Though regular members had to pay dearly to use mounts, Starfire’s guild members had managed to fulfill the conditions by spending large sums of Gold Coins, acquiring war mounts almost immediately after the guild received the rewards. This reflected the overwhelming allure of combat mounts.

Likewise, aerial mounts that offered combat functions were an irresistible incentive.

"I am willing to fight!"

"I am willing to fight!"

Suddenly, chaotic chants erupted from among the players.

Anyone who had reached the Chief level and declared their willingness to fight was immediately enveloped by a glowing halo, granting them temporary levitation and aerial combat capability.

In an instant, player after player soared into the sky. Although the vast majority were merely Chief-level, their sheer numbers were staggering.

Some players, still stuck at the Silver Elite rank and not yet at Chief-level, beat their chests in frustration and cursed the unfairness.

But there was nothing they could do. This was just one of the many hidden conditions in the game. The world of Ancient Gods often worked this way—those who didn’t meet the criteria had only themselves to blame.

"What do we do? Should we join the battle?" Tongtong asked excitedly. She too wanted to join but refrained from acting without Li Yao’s orders. None of Starfire’s members rushed in either.

Li Yao smiled. "Of course, we’ll fight. But not like this."

"Big Brother has a plan?" Tongtong asked with delight.

"Ground combat is stable now. To secure the first kill, aerial combat will be the key. But how we fight is crucial. I’ve already contacted the Green Dragon Princess, who’s waiting just beyond the battlefield. So I’ve decided to divide our team and army into two groups: one for ground combat and one with me for aerial combat. Aerial combat offers opportunities for titles, but those who stay on the ground will still receive guild compensations matching the titles and the military rewards." ...
