Chapter 1531: The End
Chapter 1531: Chapter 1531: The End
The Giant Dragon let out a roar, but anyone could hear the fear in his voice.
But his body was too large, and the continuous rolling accelerated him to the maximum speed, combined with the relentless force of absolute strength, he was directly propelled towards the sky by the interplaying forces.
He traced a beautiful parabola in the sky then smashed heavily onto the ground.
His head was the first to strike, crashing onto the ground and creating a large pit, then as the inertia continued and the friction with the solid ground occurred, the tough shell of his chin sparked from the impact and the friction before thunderously shattering.
Immense amounts of blood gushed from his mouth, and the hard shell on his abdomen crackled as it broke apart.
His two sturdy legs, which were meant to bear his weight, were now twisted into a strange angle.
A damage number exceeding 500,000 appeared, indicating the severity of the blow.
With both his head and abdomen breached, and his legs fractured, even as a Dragon Beast with the bloodline of a Giant Dragon, such grave injuries made it hard for him to stand up for a while, let alone maintain any combat capability.
In fact, as Dragon Beasts, it was rare for them to suffer fractures even in death, but there is always a limit to everything.
And Li Yao simply harnessed the opportunity, using the terrain and a decisive skill as the pivot to achieve this seemingly impossible effect.
The brutally beaten Giant Dragon was now like a lamb to the slaughter, unable to attack enemies anymore, a Giant Dragon lying on the ground posed no threat to Li Yao whatsoever.
What followed was relatively simple. Standing not far from the Giant Dragon’s head, Li Yao began a relentless barrage of violent output, and as the flattened Giant Dragon suffered under the Piercing Arrows, the damage numbers soared.
The audience took a long time to recover from the shocking scene they had just witnessed.
Seeing this, how could they not realize that the pit and the position of the two monsters’ deaths had been deliberately planned well in advance?
This was all for the battle against the third boss. It was these conditions, skillfully exploited, that made what should have been the most time-consuming boss seem easier than any before. How could it not be easy? A target lying on the ground, both legs ruined, could be killed by anyone in a short span of time.
However, despite the evident fact right before their eyes, many experts were reluctant to believe, because it was simply too terrifying.
"This must be the battle of Divine Enthronement, such a fearsome Hunter, the true embodiment of a Hunter," a commentator couldn’t help but exclaim.
"Being a Hunter is too hard, with too many weapons to master, just the Bow and Arrow alone has many kinds: Short Bows, Long Bows, Heavy Bows, Mechanical Bows, Repeating Bows, Scatter Bows; then there’s Handguns, Hunting Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Cannons; Single-hand Crossbows, Light Crossbows, Heavy Crossbows—each type with its own conditions. It seems one can switch weapons for different situations, but each weapon has its unique feature, making full mastery incredibly difficult. Take Prairie Fire, for example, through today’s long battles, it’s clear that the Long Bow is indeed his main weapon," another commentator added.
"That’s right, the apparent weakness of the Hunter faction is due to the complexity of a single weapon type. Most Hunters today, without any real-life experience, struggle to master their chosen weapons, let alone such a diversified classification. Other classes typically use one or two types of weapons, with less significant differences. The required proficiency and precision demand lengthy practice which seems unjustified, and this remains the biggest factor limiting both the strength of Hunters and their numbers."
"In fact, without the inspiration from Prairie Fire, there would probably be even fewer Hunters because Prairie Fire has given many Hunters hope. Even the most difficult weapons have their users; the key issue is without a beacon like Prairie Fire, most Hunters would likely have given up, as the challenge in this world is not the difficulty, but rather the inability to see the way forward. Although Prairie Fire’s main weapon is the bow, he also excels in other weapons, including melee, in ways that other players cannot match or surpass; of course, this also relates to combat intuition. This challenge is genuinely solid, and Prairie Fire is bound to become an idol for everybody."
"Yes, some people used to discredit him, but today, in the face of top guilds and many strong competitors challenging simultaneously, such a stark contrast in performance renders any dissenting opinions baseless and excuseless," the commentators discussed enthusiastically, the recent battle truly stirring their blood.
The audience didn’t even know how to describe their feelings at that moment; today’s shock had left them numb.
The System rated them SSS+++.
This grade could only drive the remaining teams to despair. Although the first round wasn’t over yet, in reality, the last three teams had already lost their qualifications, and no matter their performance, they couldn’t reverse their elimination.
Still, the battles had to go on; despite being eliminated, they had to strive for a good result as it related to the final reward calculation. As long as they completed the challenge, there would be a settlement of rewards after their elimination.
After Li Yao’s battle, both the commentators and the audience found the remaining battles dull by comparison.
It wasn’t that the other experts weren’t trying their hardest, nor were they inadequate; it was simply that Prairie Fire was too exceptional.
Some sly folks even began recording the jubilant and excited moments of the victors on other arenas, waiting for the first kill to conclude so they could post these clips online with Prairie Fire’s battle video, predicting the expressions of those people would be quite amusing.
The Starfire Team completely relaxed, realizing that with Li Yao securing the foundation, the subsequent participants were all in practice mode, mainly focused on teamwork rather than chasing any particular rating.
This relaxed approach ironically helped them achieve great success.
This dealt a second blow to the other teams, as they discovered that even without Prairie Fire participating, the eventual victory and highest rating still went to the Starfire Team.
And the Starfire Team was well aware of this, they had never truly regarded the others as their real opponents.
Starfire’s goal was always the settlement reward. From the outer skirmishes, through the mid-relic battles, to the current checkpoint battle leading to the Inner City, it was time for the second phase of reward distribution. The higher the rating, the better the rewards they would receive.
"System: Starfire Team has earned the right to pass this checkpoint. The Uldaman Legion defending the checkpoint has retreated. Starfire can claim their rewards and proceed through the passage; the checkpoint will close after Starfire’s passage. It will reopen one day later."
Starfire members were ecstatic, whilst the other teams looked on with regret. The other teams left dejectedly, as any further words would only bring disgrace upon themselves.
Meanwhile, the Starfire Team had already gathered together, eagerly awaiting the moment of reward settlement...
