Chapter 1519: Chapter 1519: The Battle
The first African Team to appear, compared to their unrestrained playstyle in the first match, chose a Turtle Shell melee profession this time.
Actually, this isn’t hard to understand, given that they are currently in the lead. In the first match, aside from obtaining detailed information on two monsters, they also needed to achieve a conservative result to ensure their two more fragile professions could be evaluated. Otherwise, they would essentially be eliminated, which is something they didn’t want to see happen.
The reason why it’s said that a Turtle Shell was entering the field is simple: this fighter is a professional in defense, a Snapper.
This elite profession is so called, and any profession that wears plate armor and carries a shield can qualify to change into this powerful elite profession. However, very few choose this profession.
Why is that? In the end, it’s an issue of image.
Firstly, the name "Snapper" doesn’t sound appealing, especially to the people of Huaxia who are very playful with words. No one likes to be jokingly called a "turtle," right?
Secondly, it’s about aesthetics. This profession is strong, particularly formidable among the defense-oriented elite professions, and what’s more precious is that the triggering conditions and class-change process for this elite profession have been made public, almost everyone can master it. It’s a blessing for those players who can’t find suitable elite mission clues.
However, this profession is not only called the Snapper but also looks the part. All green, that’s right. No matter what equipment you wear, as long as it’s this profession, it’s all green. No matter your previous profession, your skin and hair will turn to grass green.
Worse still, you’re carrying a real turtle shell on your back. As soon as you step forward, without looking, it’s certain you’re a "turtle."
Ordinary players play games to become strong, true, but why do they want to become strong? Isn’t it to show off?
If you turn into a "turtle," with your head all green, no matter how powerful you are, you’re still a "turtle." Almost no one in Huaxia chooses this profession, and even in Europe and America, there are very few.
Only some big guys from Africa and South America choose it. After all, it’s easy to understand. Their skin is dark as charcoal, so changing to another color doesn’t really make a difference, and they don’t care about the nuances as the Huaxia people do. One color also carries an indescribable sense of embarrassment.
Especially many people who choose Goblins as their Race have even fewer concerns, given that most Goblins are green-skinned.
Little Goblins, only about a yard tall, so what if they carry a Turtle Shell on their back? Moreover, the smaller target actually makes them less vulnerable, and even though they may lack strength, they are still formidable.
That’s right, the first contestant is such a Turtle Shell profession,
The Huaxia audience watching this profession enter the field immediately spread their thoughts, and although the Duel Field match hadn’t started yet, the bullet screen was already in chaos.
This Snapper is very small, armored in exquisite plate armor, wielding a Chain Hammer in one hand, and a Horn Shield in the other. On the back is an old-fashioned looking Turtle Shell.
It might not look nice, but its defense is very strong indeed.
Without mentioning anything else, the oversized turtle shell that extends over the head can defend against rogue’s sneak attacks and stun abilities, providing a solid defense for the back of the head.
Combined with the Horn Shield in front, one can say they have armored themselves to the teeth, and it’s not so easy to land a fatal hit on them from the front.
Even Li Yao, if the opponent is prepared, cannot guarantee that he could land a vital hit and kill them with a single arrow.
In the opponent’s prepared state, one-shotting them is almost impossible.
And the Snapper has cleverly chosen not to pursue so-called attribute-based Chain Hammers, making up for its short stature’s lack of reach in attack, and can be said to be well-equipped for both offense and defense.
And the Snapper’s opponent is no weakling either.
The Giant Dragon looks quite strange, with a pair of large wings, capable of flight, but its flying ability is almost negligible.
What’s more crucial are the curved horns facing forward, which are the Giant Dragon’s greatest weapon. There’s also a tail like a Siege Hammer. Needless to say, that’s its second greatest weapon.
The most critical point is that the Giant Dragon’s deadliest move is not the charge of the Serial Dragon Vehicle, not the tail swipe, not killing with its horns.
It’s the Skyrocket Cannon that launches after burrowing underground; it’s not that it does more damage than the Serial Dragon Vehicle, but this Skyrocket Cannon not only deals astonishing damage, it can also blast a person into the air, then accumulate a high stun value.
Often, if not killed by the Skyrocket Cannon, one will still be finished off by another move during the stun.
Moreover, this was a jet-black mutated Horn Dragon, which undoubtedly meant it was even more ferocious.
Another creature, the Blast Hammer Dragon, had a slender body but was unlike the Horn Dragon; it resembled a canister that could move, with four short legs, only with many large bumps all over its body.
Some parts had a metallic texture, while others seemed to be made of rock. And it was even more alert and slender than the Horn Dragon.
The battle began, the central blast gates rose, and upon meeting, the two dragons glared and roared at each other, each trying to overpower the other with their presence.
Both were beast dragons, not the intellectual Five Colored Giant Dragons.
But as formidable creatures with a strong sense of territory, conflict was inevitable between the two imposing monsters.
Indeed, after roaring at each other, they rushed straight towards one another.
The Horn Dragon lowered its head, charging straight ahead with its horns pointed forward.
Meanwhile, the Blast Hammer Dragon actually curled up into a wheel and rolled toward its opponent, much like a real tire.
More importantly, damn it, the Turtle Shell was right in the middle of it all.
The Turtle Shell turned green with alarm, though its face was originally green, and quickly did a back jump followed by a tumble to clear out of the way.
The two monsters roared in, horn and Blast Hammer Dragon’s wheel colliding together.
Boom...
Accompanied by a violent collision and fierce sparks, both creatures demonstrated immense strength, neither giving way.
The Horn Dragon left a deep mark on the Blast Hammer Dragon, shattering several bumps, yet still charged ahead.
The Blast Hammer Dragon continued to roll as well.
The two monsters passed by each other, each reaching the edge of the Duel Field.
The most impressive display was from the Turtle Shell; the very instant the two monsters collided, it swung out its Chain Hammer.
Smack smack smack...
A series of damage numbers popped up from both monsters, with a couple of especially large ones from their mutual collision.
But it was admirable of the Turtle Shell to seize the moment when their collision caused a brief hesitation.
The tire stopped, then started spinning in the opposite direction, but this time the target wasn’t the Horn Dragon, but the Turtle Shell.
The Horn Dragon also reached the edge of the Duel Field and, after a screeching halt, lowered its head again and started the Serial Dragon Vehicle charge.
With his Horn Shield in hand, the Turtle Shell looked very troubled. Even if he had high defense, being caught in a pincer attack was still too much.
He could only sidestep quickly, trying to move and dodge again to make the two monsters fight each other like they did at the beginning.
However, his calculations, although clever, were still incorrect...
