Chapter 1491: Chapter 1491: In Effect

Mrs. Smith listened to her guild members’ ongoing discussions. Although her prestige was high, the guild’s strength had also bred arrogance in their hearts, which could not be explicitly stamped out without affecting the morale of the guild.

She lightly furrowed her brows and asked, "Mota, recount what you saw with your own eyes once more."

Mota was the most skilled rogue in their team, who had stealthily observed how Li Yao disrupted the balance between the two sides. He had already reported his observation once, and without hesitation, he began to repeat his account over the team’s voice chat.

The guild members listened attentively once more, and one of them said, "Big Sister, why be so anxious? Prairie Fire is merely somewhat versed in Arrays, and they had no defenses prepared. Now that we are prepared and have soldiers defending, we are virtually invincible. Whether Prairie Fire comes or not is immaterial, but if he does, he is simply walking into a trap."

Mrs. Smith nodded, "You’re not wrong, but nobody knows if Prairie Fire has other tricks up his sleeve. It’s better to be safe than sorry."

Meanwhile, Li Yao, who they were preparing against, was lying leisurely in a comfortable place, counting the extremely high peaks of Moonstone, seemingly in no rush at all.

As time passed, the Guild of Annihilation had already summoned most of their army, even though Uldaman had dispatched their elite troops.

However, they had not anticipated that the enemy could have such a large hidden army. While not caught completely off-guard, they could no longer claim the upper hand, and it was difficult to determine a winner in the fierce combat.

Moreover, because Li Yao had already killed their group leader once, and a second death would mean elimination, the leader no longer fought with the same ferocity.

His caution was not misguided, but to the soldiers, it was mistaken for vulnerability, dealing a significant blow to their morale.

Despite this, they lacked a better solution. If their guild leader died again, their entire effort would be thoroughly ruined.

In reality, their situation was practically dire. Escaping became exceedingly difficult, not to mention the countless surrounding armies, but even the difficulty of crossing the Lava Lake outside the fortress was a significant hurdle.

Just as Li Yao was preparing to set out again, Totem Sa sent a message.

"Big brother, how are things on your end? We’re about to launch a full-scale attack on their stronghold, and we’ll soon take control of it."

Li Yao was surprised, not expecting their progress to be so swift, and responded, "It seems things are going quite smoothly on your side."

"Not bad at all, Jungle Queen used a nifty strategy that directly broke through the enemy’s defenses on one flank, leading our powerful Legion to occupy half of the city wall. They have now retreated to the interior of the stronghold. However, there’s still a sizable force, and we haven’t recklessly attacked. They’re still discussing how to engage with minimal losses," explained Totem Sa.

"I see. Things are going smoothly on my side too. I’ve essentially eliminated one team, and there’s one more stone in the shoe. But it’s actually a stepping stool for me, and I’m about to deal with it. Then my task here should be near completion as well," Li Yao stated.

"Ah, if only I’d played a stealth class, we could have made those big guilds flee in utter disarray. Instead, here I am, a fragile Shaman, needing the protection of an army," Totem Sa lamented.

Li Yao chuckled, "Why don’t you delete your account and start over? You’re not happy with your name anyway."

"My sister-in-law won’t let me, plus if I start a new account I’d only be able to join the neutral faction and play with the kids. I definitely don’t want to play with them; they’re immature and dumb."

"Then just enjoy the game. Shamans are not bad either. Totem Sa is also very promising. Once you can truly establish contact with the four elements, summoning winds and calling rains will be a piece of cake for you, which is more promising than being a Hunter," Li Yao reassured.

"Summoning the wind and rain, is it real or fake?" Tong Tong couldn’t believe it.

"It’s real, of course, but you haven’t even reached the full level yet, it’s still very early for you. However, what I’m saying is true," Li Yao stated, yet he thought to himself that only by becoming a Demigod could one truly communicate with the elements and summon wind and rain. Though it was still far in the future, he didn’t consider it deceiving a child.

"Alright, I’ll tentatively believe you. Enough talk, we’re about to start our full assault. Wait for the good news." Tong Tong finished speaking and then hung up the communication.

Li Yao shook his head slightly and also stood up, his figure swiftly approaching the training ground of the Guild of Annihilation’s team.

This training ground was different from the one that Li Yao had destroyed; it was not a fortress siege battle but comprised various complex terrains.

Constructing such training facilities within the fortress evidently required considerable effort, and there were also special Arrays, clearly indicating that the higher-ups of Uldaman had great expectations for this place.

There was a battle going on here, much like the one with the previous Shadow Tide Guild. One side was progressing, and the other was absorbing corpses and souls to cultivate their army. The two sides hit it off right away.

After scouting for a bit, Li Yao finally chose a spot in the Stone Forest. To be precise, it was more of a Gobi terrain.

The location Li Yao chose was atop a massive Stone Column, which was carved with various strange patterns, even figures or statues of people and animals.

Furthermore, it wasn’t too far from the central battlefield. Of course, in reality, this training ground wasn’t very large either, and the simulation of different terrains was on a small scale.

From this spot, Li Yao could overlook the entire battlefield, capturing the situation of battles in several directions at a glance. More importantly, with the complex terrain, Li Yao wasn’t worried about not being able to escape.

However, as soon as Li Yao had settled on top of the Stone Column, he saw countless Flares being shot into the sky. It wasn’t that these Flares were incredibly bright, but they illuminated every difficult corner, preventing him from being completely concealed under the light of the Moonstone above.

As a result of the Flares being shot up, Li Yao’s figure appeared directly in front of everyone.

And Mrs. Smith, who was in the midst of a fierce battle, stopped fighting, turned her head, and calmly stared at Li Yao, saying nonchalantly, "It seems my prediction was correct; you really did appear."

Following Mrs. Smith’s words, many ranged fighters around were already prepared to attack at any moment. They were just waiting for Mrs. Smith’s command to bombard Li Yao.

"Anyone who isn’t a fool could have guessed I would come," said Li Yao, recovering from his initial surprise and smiling again.

"As expected of Prairie Fire, staying so calm even in such a moment. Even if it’s an act, it shows your mentality," Mrs. Smith also smiled brightly. Her smile was gentle and charming, but few noticed the smugness in her eyes.

Li Yao sighed, "It seems you are quite pleased with yourself for forcing me out and believe you hold the winning ticket."

"Isn’t that the case, my friend?" The Defense Officer of Magma Fortress suddenly appeared from somewhere, speaking from another direction of Li Yao’s Stone Column.

Li Yao understood suddenly: "No wonder you’re so confident. It turns out you two have reached a tacit agreement, joining forces against me. You’ve been quite thoughtful." ...
