Chapter 1469: Chapter 1469: The Idea
Of course, Li Yao did not actually say this out loud; otherwise, it would have been time to cross swords again.
Li Yao wanted to befriend the Dragon Clan because they would be tied to many main storylines in the future.
But the problem was that Li Yao’s rank was too low at the moment. Even if he became a world-class top leader, the Dragon Clan would not consider it much, because they had plenty of such leaders. Any Giant Dragon warrior with some experience was at least a world-class leader.
In their eyes, even Extraordinary Races were mere mortals, let alone the Magic Race, which was even inferior to the Extraordinary Races.
Therefore, Li Yao could only get on good terms with a Dragon Princess or Prince of a lower generation and leverage their relationships to gain some reputation within the Dragon Clan.
The last time Li Yao utilized the event involving the Red Dragon Queen to make his first contact with the Dragon Clan, he left a good impression, but that was all.
Moreover, this kind of event could not be replicated, and there was no time for it.
He had not forgotten about the deceased Green Dragon Princess from his previous life. He simply lacked enough information and had no way to verify the details.
Li Yao knew that although the Green Dragon controlled the Dream, it was very dissatisfied with the invasion of the Emerald Dream by the Old Gods.
Among the five Dragon Kings, the Black Dragon King was brave and reckless, loved war immensely, and was corrupted and fell, becoming Deathwing.
The Blue Dragon King was originally kind and generous, with the demeanor of an elder. Unfortunately, the Blue Dragon Warrior Legion and his wife were killed by his best brother, and his spirit collapsed, spending his days hiding in the Magic Axis, unwilling to meet anyone.
The Bronze Dragon King was a tech-geek and very conservative, constantly traveling through various timelines, nearly driving himself mad.
The Red Dragon Queen had a commanding presence, controlled the Dragon Sleep Temple, oversaw the big picture, protected the Dragon Clan’s Holy Land, and fought against the Scourge Legion.
The Green Dragon Queen herself was a super elder sister with a sharp and efficient personality, quite aggressive.
The Emerald Dream was being corrupted, and she not only defended but also retaliated in various ways. Over hundreds of thousands of years, she had accumulated rich combat experience against the Old Gods.
Sadly, a careless slip up where her two heirs were either killed or corrupted, and even a few of her consorts were corrupted due to successive plots, led to the Green Dragon Queen making a critical mistake in a fit of rage, nearly leading to her downfall.
And the current time for Li Yao was precisely when the consorts of the Green Dragon Queen were being plotted against while investigating the Titan’s Relics.
Based on Li Yao’s assessment, the Green Dragons here were already very passive, and although he did not know the reason why they could only maintain their Ancient Elf Form, there must be an important reason.
"Have you seen enough?" Just as Li Yao was lost in a myriad of thoughts, the Green Dragon rogue drank lightly.
Li Yao came back to his senses, smiling wryly: "Although I’ve confirmed my conjecture, seeing the legendary Green Dragon Princess with my own eyes is still incredibly shocking. I was momentarily spellbound, my apologies."
As Li Yao was lost in thought, the Green Dragon Princess was surrounded by a green glow. Green Dragons are most adept at natural magic, and it can be said that druidic spells are basically derived from the Green Dragon.
Having removed the corruption of the Old God’s blood, the Green Dragon Princess was seriously injured, but any spell could make her recover quickly, at least superficially. So, in just a moment, although the Green Dragon Princess was still very weak, she could at least stand up.
"It is I who should be thankful, actually. I thought I was certainly doomed this time, but fortunately, I met you, sir, and thus escaped disaster. May I ask how to address you?" The Green Dragon Princess, now in a mage robe that was restored to new, looked even more graceful and dignified with the green light circling around her.
"I am General of the Dark Camp, Faction Leader of the High Elf Sun Corps, Chairperson of the Starfire Guild, and Lord Prairie Fire," Li Yao said politely.
The custom of the Old Gods is such that one must introduce their titles first, with the name coming last.
"Quite a few titles you have there, you mortals always love your busywork," muttered the young Green Dragon.
"Green Honor, show some respect," the Green Dragon Princess chided, then softly said to Li Yao, "Lord Prairie Fire, if I remember correctly, you said you come from Undercity and should be an elemental being hosting a soul. How did you become the faction leader of the High Elves?"
"Actually, I am a High Elf, this is my soul form, and my mentor is the Queen of Undercity, this technique is my teacher’s unique expertise," Li Yao explained.
"The spells of this world are indeed changing day by day, no wonder the elders of the Red Dragon Clan and my good sister have taken human forms to blend in and learn your spells. Truly, there are wondrous methods. It seems we Green Dragons have been too complacent, lagging behind the times," the Green Dragon Princess’s eyes sparkled with realization. "If this is the case, and my guess is not wrong, it should be similar to our entering the Dream state, and even more wondrous at that, as the death of the soul body would not result in real harm. If we master this spell, then the Old Gods would hardly dream of corrupting the Dream again, and we would have an endless army at our disposal."
Li Yao broke out in a sweat of embarrassment. Sister, you are barely keeping yourself safe, it’s problematic to even escape, and here you are, worried about something too far-fetched. Unexpectedly, this princess is also a techno-enthusiast.
However, as an outsider, he naturally couldn’t say much. Without the Queen’s permission, he certainly wouldn’t teach the spell to the other party, and his own knowledge was limited.
The young Green Dragon, more aware of the crisis, hurriedly reminded, "Princess, you’re thinking too far ahead. Our main task now is still to reunite with the main force. By gathering their strength, we can truly help you recover."
The Green Dragon Princess immediately came to her senses, realizing that she hadn’t introduced herself yet. She quickly said, "I am the First Princess of the Green Dragon Clan, Yveline Dreamseeker Ysera. You can just call me Yveline."
Li Yao nodded. Yveline was her personal title and the name given by her parents.
Dreamseeker was a title bestowed upon her for making certain commendable contributions. It was a personal honor. As the Green Dragons guarded the Dream, obtaining the title of Dreamseeker meant significant achievements. Such titles were not self-assigned—they required acknowledgment from the Dragon Clan.
As for Ysera, that was the name of the Green Dragon Queen. Among the Green Dragons, the Queen is paramount, and the children know only their mother, not their father. Furthermore, only the most promising offspring are allowed to bear the Queen’s own name.
Keep in mind that there are many descendants from the Dragon King, but very few become princes or princesses. This distinction is determined by bloodline, i.e., innate from birth. However, those titles are due to contributions earned later in life.
After exchanging pleasantries, the Green Dragon Princess continued, "Now it may seem that my injuries have healed, but my very essence is wounded. To truly recover, I need my kin to infuse me with the power of the Dream or return to the Dream itself, but returning to the Dream is now impossible. I must find my other kin, so I have an impolite request to make. I wonder if I should speak of it or not."
Li Yao’s heart leaped with joy. What had he been busy for? Wasn’t it just for this? After a roundabout conversation, it was finally getting to the point. He hurriedly said, "Your Highness, please do not be modest. We came here to resolve the corruption of Uldaman by the Old Gods. Having the help of the Dragon Clan would certainly be more effective. Please state your troubles openly, and I will not refuse to help if it’s within my capabilities." ...
