Chapter 1453: Chapter 1453: Throne of Bones
Originally, the sight of this Insectoid Herder summoning so many small bugs was already uncomfortable to look at, but now that it’s transformed into an insectoid giant, numerous players who fear this kind of thing feel an overwhelming disgust and discomfort.
In fact, once the soldier insect becomes gigantic, it appears only fierce and menacing, without the disgusting factor, but the combination of so many small bugs—flies, mosquitoes, spiders, and the like—crammed together densely, really creeps people out.
But for many players, especially those who specialize in summoning the Worm Tribe as Insectoid Herders, it’s exciting. They’ve only heard of a skill called Body of a Thousand Insects, which is the Insectoid Herder’s ultimate move. No player has learned it yet, but seeing it now fills them with a sense of a bright future.
As for considering that female players couldn’t handle it and the potential problem of not finding a girlfriend, please, anyone who has chosen the Insectoid Herder class surely doesn’t care about these things. Plus, what if someone actually has a taste for it?
Boom...
Boom...
Underneath the Body of a Thousand Insects, the Insectoid Herder’s size has already surpassed fifteen yards. Many people might not have a concept of this size; to put it in perspective, it’s about the height of a five to six-story building.
A giant of this size is already formidable without using any skills, just a casual attack is incredibly powerful.
Indeed, this is the case. Each of the Insectoid Herder’s attacks scatters the skeletons below, bones flying everywhere.
And though the intention to make Feng Yi his insect queen is there, the Insectoid Herder is not holding back in the slightest, directing every strike at her.
"Do you see? You are so fragile in front of the might of the Worm Tribe. Why don’t you kneel down and pledge loyalty to the great Worm King?" A mocking laugh booms from the Body of a Thousand Insects as it observes Feng Yi’s clumsy dodging.
"Damn, how can there be such a disgusting tactic? Big bro, do you know how to use it? If so, give me a heads up before you do, I’ll step away, so I don’t ruin the grand image of you in my innocent heart," Tongtong jokes, not at all worried about Feng Yi.
Li Yao couldn’t help but laugh and cry: "I don’t, and even if I did, I wouldn’t use such a skill."
The Enchantress curiously asked, "Why not, are you a big guy who also has trypophobia?"
"What nonsense, this skill may seem powerful, but it’s actually very weak," Li Yao pondered for a moment before saying, "Let’s put it this way, this skill is just for bullying the weak; against opponents who are weaker than oneself, it can certainly dominate. Look at those skeletons—their skills can kill a lot of bugs, but they aren’t much for the Body of a Thousand Insects, which scatters them with a single blow."
"Yeah, I find it very impressive, though," continued the Guardian Angel. "This is a real man’s skill. Sigh, I really chose the wrong class."
The Knight coldly stated, "If you turn into something like that, forget about ever sleeping in a bed again."
Everyone chuckled lightly, and Li Yao continued with a smile, "I said it’s for facing weaker opponents. There are too many ways to bully the weak; there’s no need for this one. And it’s not just against stronger opponents—it’s likely that even equals would break through this, probably without a chance to resist."
"Ultimately, it’s that these bugs are too fragile. If they were all replaced with Red Crystal Ants, the power level could rise by who knows how many levels," the Enchantress sighed.
"That’s exactly the limitation of this skill; it can only use soldier insects as its skeleton, and the exterior can only be composed of ordinary bugs," Li Yao explained.
While the Starfire team was discussing, Feng Yi found herself in grave danger, as the skeletons she and the Death Knight summoned were almost completely slaughtered.
The only survivors, other than Feng Yi, were the two Death Knights and Necromancers dragging the Worm King’s descendants back at a distance.
And although they wanted to come to the rescue, it was with willing hearts but lacking strength.
Feng Yi’s body turned into a phantom, and with each attack, she became a wisp of a ghost that passed directly through the Body of a Thousand Insects.
Soul Leap!
This was the Necromancer’s life-saving skill, allowing them to jump continuously in space as a ghost. Different from the Mage’s Blink, this is a buff effect.
During the buff, they could keep leaping continuously, but once the buff ended, the ability to leap would be lost, so Necromancers would never use it lightly, only in the most dangerous moments to save their lives.
Countless Necromancers felt as if they had discovered a new world, as each leap crushed a vast number of bugs to smithereens, causing significant losses to the Body of a Thousand Insects.
They knew every leap would momentarily fold space, as the skill description stated, but they merely took it for a life-saving skill.
It never occurred to them that this spatial folding could cause damage. Feng Yi was not just running for her life; she was killing bugs in the process of not leaping.
"Five minutes, and I must say you’ve surprised me. Like a flea, you hop around in front of me, but the bugs you kill are negligible compared to the whole. Your struggling is just a waste of time, meaningless. The end of your skill is your death; why bother?"
The Insectoid Herder’s voice was filled with mockery, seemingly with all the winning cards in hand. Of course, he had the reason to be arrogant; although Li Yao described it as a useless skill for bullying the weak, in other players’ eyes, this Body of a Thousand Insects was extremely domineering.
"It seems you rats, confined underground, have gone mad. You can’t stop blabbering the moment you get a chance," Feng Yi said, as the spectral light on her body vanished and her Soul Leap came to an end. This was after she had leveled up and strengthened her Inscriptions; otherwise, it wouldn’t have lasted so long.
"Finally coming to an end, right?" The Insectoid Herder did not bring down this strike: "Last chance. Become my insect queen of your own volition, or the next moment you’ll turn to dust."
"Such a waste of words," Feng Yi retorted with a hint of sneer in her eyes. "Do you really think I’m playing hide and seek this whole five minutes?"
The Insectoid Herder sneered, "Oh, it looks like you still have some tricks left. But I’ve run out of patience, you’ve lost your last chance."
With that being said, the giant arm of the Body of a Thousand Insects plummeted down.
Boom...
The ground shook with the impact, but Feng Yi dissipated like a scattering of radiant light points.
Yet, Feng Yi’s voice echoed as if there were countless Feng Yis; each voice was very faint, but there were so many light points that when they came together, the sound was quite loud.
"Idiot, from the very beginning, I have been in control of this battle, not you. My life and death have never been in your hands; you are the one living in a dream. Since you used the Body of a Thousand Insects, I can’t keep my skill hidden anymore either. I have only learned one-third of this move, and can only unleash a tenth or so of its potential power, but that should be enough for you. Taste my Bone Throne."
